I was suggested to go here. i waited for 2+ hours to have someone to come talk to me. I was left in a room with nothing, but a camera in the corner. I had a panic attack because no one was helping me and that i couldn't leave until someone checks me out. They have key cards to use to unlock doors so there was no way out. I then made an appointment @ 10 and was left there for 2 more hours until someone came to talk to me. i had to fill out the exact same paper work i did when i first went there. they take all of your belongings including your phone so you have no one to contact you. They just don t care at this point. I see the staff laughing and bringing their lunch, and as i was standing outside my door wanting to LEAVE, they completely ignored me. I am never going back again.

Sister was released without a prescription, was told the doctors were too busy to fill it. One month to stabilize her just for her to go days without medication, causing her to be admitted to another hospital? Cruel.

Read the reviews and I have been to many hospitals for mental health before which is why I would just like to say that the negative reviews sound like they are coming from people that either aren t very knowledgeable in what care looks like at facilities like this or that thought they new more than the professionals and weren t ready to let go of their need to control everything. I can tell this is a good place to be. It s not the absolute best from the several states I ve received care in (I m comparing it to the UNI hospital when I say this which is somewhere I d go on vacation it s so beautiful and fun). This would be the best hospital I ve been able to kind in Kansas or Missouri

Don t go! Two bad experiences. No one cares. When insurance runs out patient is out the door. After trying to reach someone for 6 hours today, they called saying my son was discharged and if I didn t pick him up by 4:00, they would call a cab. If he refused cab they would call police to get him. He is autistic. As soon as their insurance runs out they don t care. They released him without a prescription for the meds the prescribed,. We had to make multiple calls to try to get a 14 day supply. Therapist talked with us once in a week, then said she didn t have time to deal anymore. Nobody will return calls. They are in it for the money. When they can t get anymore they re done. Don t get sucked in by what the answering machine says about how much they care They don t care. When we sat in waiting room today, not wanting to leave until someone would talk to us about what to do going forward, they called the police. Police said we would have to take up abuse legally, Don t go! Please. There are other hospitals who can help. This one cares -only about making money with the least work possible. Patient care is not a consideration. No contact with parents or family. They re all busy .

Terrible experience in their PHP. Their therapist...

Terrible experience in their PHP. Their therapist Dava McCoy never stopped talking about herself and used group therapy as her own personal therapy sessions. She also breached confidentiality telling me the first name and employer of one of her previous patients - who works at the same place I do. Zero trust. Zero professionalism.
Dava should probably stick to dressing up as Disney princesses (her former super successful business she told our group about). She also needs to learn how to truly listen and not diagnose people s issues after she has heard them say 2 sentences. Another suggestion therapists should probably ask open ended questions rather than leading, loaded yes/no questions. #listeningskills101

Will also add - they advertised music, art and pet therapy. Was there for a week - never saw any of those things. Also - they give so many breaks that a 6 hour day of treatment is in reality only about 3 1/2 hours of group therapy daily. For people who are taking time off from work to get help, it just feels like a total and utter waste of time.

Worst experience ever. Never made it through their intake. Was trying to get help only to be shoved into an isolated room in an uncomfortable chair, staring at a tv encased in glass they refused to turn on. Sat there 4-6 hours and was ignored. Never given breakfast or lunch. When I stated I wanted out several times I was ignored. Of course when you start pounding on the door out of frustration all of a sudden you are the popular guy and everyone shows up. They are jerks and all they have to say is they are busy. Not my problem. They don t care and it still takes them another hour to release you. Go somewhere else where the staff doesn t seemed burdened to just talk with you and doesn t treat you like a convict.

ITS A KANSAS LAW FOR ANYONE REGARDLESS OF INPATIENT OR OUTPATIENT ETC for belongings to be temporarily locked up and everyone to be screened... safety reasons, and Kansas law, look up EMTALA, especially for a PSYCHIATRIC HOSPITAL (It MUST be determined if someone meets criteria for OUTPATIENT or is safe to leave by LAW, even if they report it during the intake, it must be also reported to the clinician during the assessment then the psychiatrists HAS TO APPROVE THE FINAL ORDERS TO STAY OR LEAVE. Mental health laws are serious and they treat everyone the same, regardless of what they come in, it functions like an ER and everyone must be screened in order to determine level of care recommended. It's not to confirm or 100% "commit" anyone against their will etc, it's all apart of the intake, no matter who the person is. Policy and law and liability are important! I wish more people understood mental health and it's laws that come with it. the facility is doing their job, making sure NO PATIENT can leave without a screen out due to SAFETY since there are patients sharing the same lobby and assessment area who do want to hurt themselves or someone else, everyone must be treated the same and are waiting to be seen to determine level of care until assessed!

Horrible facility. They don't seem to care about their patients at all. Their communication is horrible. We took our son for an assessment and had to wait 3 hours in a small room it literally nothing to do. They won't let you leave even if you haven't been seen until a doctor signs off on it. Once you go in for an assessment, don't expect to leave by your own free will. We also head people say that they had to wait in the small room for 6 hours. For people with mental health issue, especially anxiety, this seems like cruel punishment. Find a different facility. This isn't the one you want.

Fantastic facility, once you understand the required intake process, it s a wonderful experience to have them save lives. More people need to understand how psych hospitals run! They aren t supposed to be fun or great it s to get better and be safe
