My mother in law is there. There is no perfect place for a loved one to be but the nursing staff including cna's have been a God Send.I am very happy with the care she is receiving.I consider this place to be full of angels and I am thankful for everything they do

As the review below stated "I wouldn't put my dog here." I agree 100%. This place is a joke. I would not trust anyone in that building to care for my loved ones ever again. We left shortly after admission. Not only is the facility pitifully understaffed, the nurses and np who are there are incompetent and not compassionate to the residents. A lot of things being swept under the rug there. You can hear all the nurses at the desk talking about family members and their condition without any regard to who may be listening. The place is a disgrace.

This week (Sept 1-7, 2019) at Cornerstone South, residents have been forced to move to other rooms and some to semi-private rooms with only a couple days notice of raised rent. Facilities are required by the State to give families a 60 day written notice when rent is increased. I live here but will never again recommend this place!

I wouldn't bring my dog here. We brought my dad here and he was on a trach collar and they almost killed him. He is now on a vent and been at JCMC where they are giving him excellent care but still in critical condition. They almost refractured his neck and he was always nasty because they never bathed him. He lost weight and was almost a bone! They never shower them, they ignore call lights because they are so short of staff. Only 2 nurses that care their are Johnathan and Mary the head nurse. They have no cna's and the families have to stay to help care or their loved one would be dead. I would give them negative stars if they were available. They make fun of their patients and are Nasty. The administrator acts like she cares but nothing gets done about anything and the social worker he is a joke! Our lawyers now have it and will soon be hearing from us!

My mother was in this place. She was talked to like a dog. She would hit the call button no one would come. If I called they would say our phone doesn't pick up in room. Which I knew wasn't true . They let my mom get pneumonia bad 2 different times . The last time she couldn't fight it. Beware stay away.

I wouldn't put a dog in this place! They don't care about their residents and good luck trying to get them to answer a phone call or return a call. The only thing they care about is getting paid by the insurance company and when the insurance stops paying they throw them out and couldn't care less if they have a safe place to go. I tried repeatedly to get the social worker to call me to try and get help for my mother in law and never got a call until it was time for her to leave and she needed a ride.

Mom went directly there from the hospital. Has been there about a week and has been nauseated and throwing up ever since. Not told that facility has an epidemic of stomach flu. Place is not clean and staff don't come when call button is pushed. One worker assured me that she would be back to assist my mother from the bathroom back to her chair. Never came back. Another worker assured me that she would come help Mom to the bathroom in a few minutes. When she never appeared, I went looking for her but she had disappeared. My mom should have been on a bland and/or liquid diet but nursing staff never informed food service, so my sister and i bring food in for our mother. There is no communication between one department and the next, workers are few or not doing anything, there is no accountability, and the director is either a weak leader and ineffective one or an indifferent one. We will be taking Mom out of the place as soon as possible.

If you are reading this review then you are probably looking for a facility to place a loved one... I read the reviews on this page while I decided where to take my mom in the fall of 2018... I saw comments like I wouldn t leave my dog there and my heart hurt... but I know people who are hurting can say hurtful things I think we all have so I looked past it...and I know any decision to put a loved one in a retirement home is very complicated and stressful on everyone involved. You worry if they will be cared for, if they will feel abandoned, or if they will be mistreated, etc... there is so many questions that can only be answered with time.... and it seemed like that was the last thing we had..... no facility is perfect but Cornerstone has shown not only compassion and love for my mother but it has also shown the same compassion for me and my family... I can name multiple people who without their help I have no idea what I would have done... although the process isn t easy and can be quite tedious they made me feel as if they were on my team and were there to help...Tracey C. , Carol, and Darren M. all played such important roles in the process of taking care of my mom...between admissions, nursing and finance all of them went well above the call of duty... they laughed, smiled, and even cried with me at times...
As far as the facility itself goes... It has always been clean, orderly, and most of all very friendly... I would recommend you visiting and seeing for yourself the level of care and compassion they offer... I know some people may disagree with my comments but not everyone s experiences or expectations are the same... I do hope you find a place that fits your loved one needs as well as Cornerstone has fit my moms... and may God bless you and your family...
