This is the mall my family has been coming to since I was a child, and it has grown and evolved as I've gotten older, but is still my favorite place to shop. It still has a great mix of department stores, restaurants, and places that are just fun to browse. Like many other malls, it is slowly dropping off older restaurants and things like bookstores that are losing out to online competition, but there are still lots of merchants that aren't everywhere else, and you can still go there with nothing particular in mind, grab a bite to eat and enjoy the cozy, quickly familiar layout as you hop from place to place. There are well positioned Maps to guide you.

The mall at first is a bit confusing but simple once you realize you can see from one to the other standing in the middle. If you are looking to spend the day walking around and checking out the stores this us not the mall for you.

The place is very clean and open. Feels good walking through but just a bit small. The anchor stores are massive so if you are looking for clothes this is the place for you.

The food court is less court and more ally but does have some options.

Nice size mall, but the food is spread out. There is no one food court. The restaurants are throughout the mall, which is not an issue of you are by yourself, but can be an issue if you are with a group.

Visited the restaurant Brio. Amazing food selection, very well prepared and served by talented, friendly waitstaff. Very bright and open, fresh appearance. Able to handle large groups but in a limited manner. Layout of the customer area is very roomy and comfortable. Breakfast all day! Awesome!

Mall of my Life! I ve been going here since I was a kid and it gets better every year. I love there is a play area for kids, especially on cold or wet days. The only downside is that my daughter is always sick after going there.

If you are after your usual high street shops then this place is fine. Lots of female and kids clothing shops but little in the way of high end designer items. Good restaurants. Cheesecake Factory is always a winner. There is ample parking and even a couple of bars.

Very good shopping mall.

Very good shopping mall.
Not trendy or luxury oriented, but great for an upscale middle class shopper.

Thus mall has Two Macy's, lord and Taylor, JCPenny answered sears as Anchor stores. Compare to some of the malls around this is not the biggest but has lot of options for shopping like Apple store, Potter barn, usual clothing and shoes stores. It does have very small food court and which has limited options but has three big restaurants such as Cheese cake factory, on the border in the premises . It has Starbucks right in the middle of the mall and generally crowded. It is very easy to get into the mall from Rt 50 but has kind of roundabout to get out specially on to Route 50.

I actually confused the Fairoak mall with the stone ridge mall in dublin, CA because it built the same. Obviously it owned by the same company. While the mall is packed with people. Many shops are empty without customers. There are 4 shops that had been closed.

Decent place to go to and get out of the house. Enough variety in the stores that you shouldn't have a problem finding what you need. They also have a good variety of restaurants. If you're looking for a bigger mall you could go check out the Tyson's Corner Mall.

Very good mall with Macy's, Sears and a large selection of other stores and indoor walkways with excellent parking conveniently located near Routes US-50, VA-286 Fairfax County Parkway and I-66.

Fair Oaks Mall is a great alternative to other big malls in the area. They have a wide store selection and a few big department stores to round out the options. Fair Oaks Mall is also home to a small but fun science center\facility for kids!

The food selection is actually dominated more by restaurants and sit down locations now vs fast eats but they have a few grab and go spots if your in a hurry.

I'm not a fan of malls but wife likes this one. I have a young daughter who likes the play area in front of JCPenney. Unfortunately, there are children obviously too big and too old to be playing there. Just yesterday one kid was running around knocking over smaller kids causing them to hit their head on the ground hard and didn't even stop to look. Same one even jumping knocking others on the head. I have to keep a close watch on my daughter. Now it's the holiday season, it's likely to be even more crowded with bigger kids making it dangerous. If it wasn't for my daughter enjoying the play area, I wouldn't visit this mall. I hope to avoid it altogether during the holidays.
