I've been working with cordant for the last 6 years they've always treated me fairly and any issues i have are always resolved quickly I've got a good working relationship with my line manager who always has time to resolve any issues i have day or night i have regular meetings with him and im always asked if i need anything regarding uniform or even a catch up chat the store i work in has a great management team who always make sure the guards are ok any issues are resolved

Dont work for these i worked for this company for nearly 3 years with 100% kpi green during that time a model guard infact my line managers words but this all changed once the cliant added a new member of staff who abuse his position and said lies about me which i might add i can prove cordant didnt eant to know so subsequently i lost my job with them as the cliant said i hab put things up on socal media which sgain wasnt me it was a customer of my store who could see that i was basically forced out this company will not bzck you up they care more about money n cliants than their own staff ....you have been warned and i hope other guards will leave negative comments to as the way they have been unfairly treated

I had a interview today luckily I wasn't accepted as my interview process was terminated on pointless bases and I believe there was no valid reason given to me I was judged not on my education or work history but only the colour of my skin I personally believe I was rejected on that bases won't be applying or even recommending this racist organisation it's a shame in the 21st century we have to judge people based on there colour culture and religion as I have suffered today from Cordant Security if I could rate it zero I would have.

West Norwood Iceland store hides its trolleys in t...

West Norwood Iceland store hides its trolleys in the corner of the departing alley - in the corner - so you have to fight leaving shoppers to get one - impossible during peak times.

I normally take a Sainsbury's elephant bag which I empty at the till - and theatrically turn it upside down to show it is empty. I then transfer the items into a wheeled trolley when they have passed through the scanner. I have done this for years and years and years. It's only relatively recently that I actually spotted the wire trolleys in the corner.

On this occasion I had filled the Sainsbury's bag with six cartons of four-packs of a soft drink and to save the till woman's back I let her see the items to count if she wishes - still on the belt, then carry them through for her. Something I have always done for heavy items.

The security man had previously advised me that I shouldn't do this and I said ok - but he didn't like being told I had done it for years and said he would throw me out if I did it again. Gross rudeness - I asked for his name and he replied 'Ian'.

He then stalked me to the till and proceeded to lounge on the trolleys at the exit right by the till which I had waited an age to get to. When I arrived he proceeded to talk across me to 'Alice' - the till woman. Unbeknown to me he had advised Alice that he wanted to search the bag so she refrained from even starting the scan - I had told her there were six packs in the bag. I also jokingly asked her to tell 'Security' to shut up! At which point she told me that she had to let the Security man do his thing. My trolley on wheels was wide open and empty and the Sainsbury's bag was physically checked and the Security man satisfied himself that all was in order - whereapon he gave Alice the all clear to process my shopping.

I said that this was a prickly Security man to which she replied "well you did tell him to shut up". Unfortunately this man then asked "Did he tell me to shut up?" - so I responded that I didn't like his shouting and making a scene and to address me with the usual forms of courtesy - and then added that customers pay his wages and this hardly encouraged them to come back. To which he sarcastically replied that "Sorry, but I thought I was paid by my Security company" and leant forward so I could see the label 'Cordant Security'.

On finding out that I had told him to shut up - he then proceeded to remove my shopping from the belt side to the exit hopper and said he wanted me to leave - In full view of many many customers who were most inconvenienced as they all had to shuffle across to join the other queue.

While he was doing this I appealed to the Supervisor serving in the next queue and asked "Are you going to allow him to do this?". She pulled out a pen and pad and said I should write down my contact details.

He then handed me my folded Sainsbury's bag and I left - but not without telling the waiting, patient customers that '"Scuritee didn't like being told to shut up - but sarcasm is allowed".

Now my understanding is that before you can be searched a Security guard has to 'see' you shoplift before he can 'assault' you legally. On what grounds can a security guard evict you from a shop? The Supervisor seemed helpless. Since when does a Security guard have this power?

'Ian' from Cordant Security has a training need for dealing politely with customers - and when he handed back my folded bag I was wary that he may have planted something to justify this scene. However he hadn't. How come? Well I wouldn't put it past someone so ignorant of retail law of doing such a thing - but maybe he will next time such is his ignorance? It must have been a disappointment that he couldn't find any other reason to eject me.

I was unable to give my contact details as I was ushered humiliatingly out of the door - I will be taking legal advice on this treatment and Iceland have not heard the end of this.

One of the Google feedback postings says "Cordant Security is a rude lying company.... " . I'm surprised that Iceland employ such people.

Absolute joke of a company ! Had three area managers in 4 months and never met one of them ! , no support from the control room or managers, always kept on hold when trying to contact the control room and never managed to get hold of a manager as always busy . The final straw was them holding my last months wages even though I gave notice and followed procedures . Their excuse was I hadn't returned my uniform ?? Even though I was a store detective and you don't wear uniform !! Wake up Cordant you are a joke for a company and I would avoid like the plague ! I'm sure Tss would be a marked improvement

This complain is regarding one of your security gu...

This complain is regarding one of your security guard staff at Tesco Express S779 in Shelton Square, Coventry, named Adeola Banwo. On Thursday 4th June 2020 at around 4.30pm, my husband and i went grocery shopping at Tesco. As we were about to pay for our items at the self checkout till, this man Adeola Banwo shouted very loudly and rudely to my husband to move all the items and pay them at the cashier. He refused to listen to my husband and gestured rudely towards the till. When my husband asked him the reason for his uncouth, rude behaviour of raising his voice and shouting at us, he dismissed us and was shouting again without apologising. I am very angry and upset at the treatment that this security guy has shown to me and my husband.

This is NOT the only incident where he was rude to us. It has happened MULTIPLE times in the past. I feel strongly that Adeola Banwo has been stereotyping me and my husband as we are foreign students from Malaysia studying in the UK. This is unacceptable and I hope that your company take serious actions and warnings against him for his despicable behaviour. This is not how a customer should be treated. Please conduct proper checks before hiring security guards next time in order to avoid hiring an uncivilised person.

I have worked for many companies but no doubt this is the best Cordant Security are a very good company to work for. I was working through Cordant Security for Morrison's I found the Cordant Security area Manager Mr Jim Jamieson to be very supportive and friendly. Communications were always polite and considerate. The pay is above minimum wage and you get paid breaks. Free uniform is provided as well as cost towards your transport if you have to travel a little further than usual. Cordant Security looks after its employees. I would highly recommend Cordant security for any one looking for work in the security industry

My previous post got removed because there was a lot of truth about cordant, how strange. See image attached of a payslip. Cordant pay 1p a day for taking annual leave. Shows how much they value their staff.

Applied for full-time Iceland job online which was false advertisement and had phone interview I accepted role. Week later get a call saying zero hour contract which I didn't understand because applied for full-time role. How can I work on zero hour contract also how ment to pay bills and food shopping and never hour's to work. Iceland should I have two guards all times for extra safety o yeah one of guards I was training with rang control and double checking about my shift which he wasn't told o yeah they hanged up the phone DISGUSTING.

Good

Complete joke of a company.

Complete joke of a company.
Been working for them for just under a year, you have to check your shift rosta nearly every day because they will change your shifts and site without any notification whatsoever, I have worked with some good guards and some who don't have a clue, Example, guards turning up for their shift under the influence, guards always on their phones either texting or talking, 1 guard was even seen been asleep whilst stood up by the store exit, once i checked my rosta after I had to get a new mob phone and they had changed all my shifts for the month, if I hadn't checked i would have been going to another store in a different area, AVOID the company like a plague

Without a doubt the worst security company I ve ever worked for. They try sending you to sites miles from your house rather than the nearer ones. Uniform is cheap and rubbish, and they don t give you enough of it. You never see the managers! But by far the worse point is getting paid! I don t know who they employ in their wage department, but if I did a job that incompetently, I d be sacked and totally understand way. Rude, lying company who have no interest in their staff!

Just had an interview with Cordant Security Services #My interview with Neil Tonks was amazing, clear and good communication #all aspects of the company procedures , regulations and polices were well nullified (Explainable).

I felt happy and morely motivated professional in all aspects like Queen Elizabeth s days. Everything was by the book and very interesting.I have never felt like this in years .

I recommend anyone who is looking for a Security job to try Cordant Security Services# You will feel a journey of your career on the rise.

Many thanks to the company built of Cordant Security Services and the management #Last but not least many thanks you Neil Tonks answered all my questions and enjoyed the brief introductory to Cordant Security Services.

I started working for Cordant, and on my first day I was left on my own, with no one to show me anything, I had to figure it out for myself, and I phoned to say that I was on my own and that someone would be coming out to help me no one turned up, later that evening the store I was at a group of 8 teenagers turned up and ran around the store helping themselves to anything and everything, I was later told that these teenagers were banned from the store, but with been on my own I had no idea and with no back up was unable to do anything later that evening I quit if this was what it was like my first day imaging what the rest would be like avoid this company.

The most incompetent company I ve ever worked for!...

The most incompetent company I ve ever worked for! No manager available to deal with issues, such as no uniform or staff ID. The client extremely unhappy with the service from Cordant Security but has had phone slammed down on them when trying to contact them to resolve matters!! No relief for medical/dental appointments when available only Sunday as a day off. I could go on about the complete lack of professionalism this company has but it s not likely to be addressed by them!!!

I have had the mis fortune of working for this company for over 7 years. Yeah we all gripe about pay but retail security unless in the south has always been poorly paid.

Onto the company itself, well what can I say, managers who are completely inept. Control room who your lucky to get through to, scheduler who can't tell you whens the best time to try and book holidays. Some of the guards they should be ashamed they even hired them.

Ahh holidays what a laugh, I have tried emailing a holiday form no fewer than 10 times, even faxed it, they mysteriously still haven't received it. Call the line manager to see what can be done and he's in the middle of another crisis and tells me to ring back in a weeks time.

Im based at a Tesco and honestly it isnt bad, i get good support from their staff as and when needed, cordant need to take a leaf out of their book. Honestly only reason they get 1 star, they pay on time and 0 star isnt an option.

Shocking company to work for only thing they are good at is paying on time might not be the right amount but it will be in your bank on the right date. Very rude control room and not helpful at all, always passing book when you need advice or help. To say they are one of the largest security companys in england there overall a tin pot company.

I have recently left Cordant ,cheap labour and they are never trusted, can never get hold of area manager or control, all I can say is avoid this company at all costs,I have nothing good to say about them.

I worked for cordant security for 12 months didn't really enjoy the job I only took the job because I needed work. I was based in icelands stores what a joke!!!1 guard by himself they needed at least 2 guards, also I was a floater and was sent every where. All I can say is if you want a job where you work 48 hrs per week over 6 days with 1 day a week off with low pay then work for cordant security I wouldn't recommend retail security to anyone unless you want to deal with smack heads, junkies and thieves all day every day you would be better off in corporate security.

I still work for them now. But will be escaping very soon! Started in January and still waiting for some uniform and also still waiting for my ID badge. There a joke they don't even keep you up to date with Rotas with changes etc and can never get hold of area manager. Avoid at all costs can't wait to leave

Worst Security Company ever. Don't work for this company. Manager Alex Young is the worst. He will lie to you, threat you with HR. If your genuine sick, they will take all your shifts off you. They will even try to take money off you if you leave. You have been warned. If I could of given Cordant a 0 star I would have.

For the last few months one of your so called guards has been following my daughter around Iceland Halewood, today he accused my daughter of stealing a packet of pasta and sauce. My daughter did not have a receipt so had to get the manager of home bargains to show this guard his CCTV footage. Which shows my daughter buying it, this guard has been hiding around corners and following my daughter which is Harrasment and I am not having it either you sack him or I seek legal action against him and your company. He told my daughter to open her bag in the middle of the shop with other shoppers watching my grandchildren were terrified . I am totally disgusted in your Company.

RACIST SECURITY GUARD AT ICELAND EDINBURGH ROAD BR...

RACIST SECURITY GUARD AT ICELAND EDINBURGH ROAD BRANCH PORTSMOUTH. I cannot seem to find a way that I can contact Cordant Security so that a can make a complaint about this man! My daughter and I got separated shopping and she texted me to meet her at this branch of Icelands. I took too long to get there and she thought I was inside the shop. She picked up a bag of sweets then went looking for me, still inside the shop. She put the sweets in her pocket as she had a cup of Greggs coffee in one hand and took out her phone with the other hand, rang me to find out where I was. She didn't have a chance to put her phone back in her pocket to take the sweets out and this man came and said "You can take the sweets out your pocket, put them down and your barred". She tried to tell him that she was waiting for me and had no intention of walking out the shop without paying. She had been crying as she had received some bad news a little earlier. He said to her "You weren't going to pay for them because you're crying" She left the shop and found me just outside. I went in and did my shopping and then when I came out, I decided to talk to this man about shop lifting. He saw my daughter with me and just started talking and talking and would not let me say anything. Eventually I put my fingers on my lips and said "Ssh!" But he still would not let me get a word in so I repeated the gesture. He then said if you do that again, I would be barred too. So I did it again! But I did manage to say that my daughter hadn't left the shop yet so how can she be accused of anything. He said what he did was a deterrent! Also said that "You are obviously not British because you are impolite" I said "You are rude for not letting me talk and talking over me all the time" So based on our South African accent, he was racist in saying we were rude because we were not English! Last word to him was he has lost Iceland 2 valuable customers because of his racist rude comments.
His security badge was not displayed, so I have taken a photo of the said security guard.

I worked for this company for nearly three years , but as in many reviews below , the control room is the most rudest off all. Three years working at this same site as a permanent guard and the manager(Michelle Laurence) what a joke she has been . Haven t seen her at all In 3 years , she would never answer any phone calls and even emails . Most irresponsible manager I have worked with in my 15 year career as a guard. And surely the worst company to work for except timely pay ,there has nothing been good about this company. Try and avoid working for these company.
Recently the site I was working at got tupe over to g4s and they have been great so far.

Dirtiest company, ignorant manager, rude control room,

Do not work for this company. I applied for a role in my local area and was sent 18miles away with the promise that when cordant take over the contract I would be moved... I wasn't.
The company didn't supply full training or give me the paper work I needed to fill out.
I worked with this company for almost two months with only 2hours training.
I only ever saw my manager once despite him being 10minutes away at a different site.
Lack of PPE was supplied.
Get the government to shut this joke of a company down.
Every single person I know who have worked for this company has either quit or walked away due to being treated like rubbish.
They still owe me at least 800pound worth of holiday and wages I earnt.
I have personally complained to citizens advice and I'm getting legal advice

Been with this company since 2008 also been a security guard for nearly 18years now cordant have been one of the best companies to work for the wage his above minimum wage but I do believe we deserve
more with what we go through as a security guard in the retail industry only thing I don't agree with
having to work bank holidays

Why can't we give a 0 star review? That's a joke.

Why can't we give a 0 star review? That's a joke.

Anyway... the company is an absolute joke.. waiting for 10+ minutes to reach Control just to be told to call other numbers and to check the schedule etc. Applied for holiday maybe two times and was told they never received my form. Pay is an absolute joke and I would be better off stacking shelves in Tesco. At least then I'd be supported better and I'd see my managers every single day and be able to talk to them face to face about anything.

Absolute joke of a company when it comes to wages. Shame. I was looking forward to this job. Now I can't contact them so I can leave.

Note, still in my three month probation at the time of posting this. So I could even get the sack for them seeing this.

Worked for this company for 7 years was called Advance security when i joined them in 2008, they have the contract for most Tesco stores where i mainly worked. Working as a relief officer was a waste of time however if you have a permanent site close to home then it wasn t too bad, my wages were always fine but wasn t the best pay for your role in a retail environment, protecting your self, staff and customers.
The worst bit about the company hence i give the company a 3 star was annual holidays got declined most times but did get approved after constantly ringing control room.

Tesco, is the worst contract to work on and Cordant the worst company. My first shift was full of hilarious events. I walked in for my first shift and saw the CCTV sitting there in pieces and the EAS barrier out of action....

Fire alarm goes off and apparently security do not have access to fire alarm keys, our job is to put hands over alarm until manager can find a key?

I phoned up Cordant, asking them if I am on some reality TV show for laughs? I get told no.....

Cordant Security are a very good company to work for. I was working through Cordant Security for Iceland I found the Cordant Security area Manager Mr A. Thomas to be very supportive and friendly. Communications were always polite and considerate. The pay is above minimum wage and you get paid breaks. Free uniform is provided as well as cost towards your transport if you have to travel a little further than usual. Cordant Security looks after its employees. Unfortunatley I had to leave because my father was unwell. I would highly recommend Cordant security for any one looking for work in the security industry.
