Course is in pretty bad shape. This photo was in the middle of the 17th fairway. Several greens had dead spots. I played it on 9/18/20.
We had 3 or 4 groups try to cut in front of us. People just driving around skipping holes trying to play whatever they can. Some were high schoolers.
Couple decent holes but nothing special.

Initially played this course 8 or 9 years ago and it was fantastic. Talked it up to my buddy beforehand and was excited to get to play it once more.
*Cue the sad, forlorn music*
Things have really gone downhill since then and I was thoroughly disappointed when I played it again Oct. 2020. Locals said it fell into disrepair and new owners were trying to bring it back. But they have a long, long road ahead of them.
Staff was very nice and helpful but unfortunately the course is in horrible shape. Tee boxes were a mess, fairways full of weeds and greens torn apart with large dead spots everywhere. Conversely there was so much standing water and mud all over the course, your golf ball could disappear into the sludge, shoes covered in red mud and our cart looked like we took it out for a 4-wheel adventure.
Wish we had known just how bad the course was before wasting $89. If they are going to charge upper-tier pricing like the old days, it needs to be back in the shape it was years ago.
Until they get it completely turned around or drop the rates considerably, I d steer away from playing this course and visit any of the other St George area courses that are much more affordable and in great shape from tee to green.
Just really disappointed.

This is one of the best course designs and layouts in the state. But since the Vanguard group purchased it it s been run into the ground. Tee boxes are a mess. There s dead patches everyone in fairways. Greens are beat up. It s so frustrating and hopefully it will change soon, because there s so many other good options in St. George once people write it off, they ll never come back.

The course is drastically improved from the last few times I played it. I had given up on the course but tee times at other courses were very limited so I decided to give it another shot and I m glad I did.

The course isn t perfect, but the things they have done to improve it are really making a big difference. I have always enjoyed the layout but the condition has made it an afterthought compared to some other courses. There is now new sand in all the bunkers and the sod around them (fairly new at the time of this review) is growing in nicely and really improving the way it looks and plays. The greens were in good shape as were the fairways. The tee boxes were a little shaggy but there has been a bit of rain lately so I can give them a pass.

It is my understanding that the course is under new management. Kudos to the decision makers in the new management structure as they seem to be moving in the right direction. All in all I am glad I gave Coral Canyon another shot. I will return here again on future trips to the St George area.

Booked on GolfNow and it was pretty straight forward. The course photos must have been from years ago because the current condition is horrible. Bunkers, basically all of them, are ground under repair, the greens are super bumpy/lumpy and unkept, the tee boxes look like two clans of hedgehogs had a battle on them, there were animal parts and fur of dead something on several holes (maybe mowers ran over them??), the course is under some kind of construction or remodel and they have A LOT of work to do. At best this was worth $10-15 to play and even that should come with a free lunch. I have played on better shape courses in South Dallas in the low rent districts. Seriously, not worth the cost. Other courses in the area are in better condition.

Rumor is that this course recently got purchased and is under renovation. That renovation is obvious and ongoing. Hopefully they get that resolved or completed soon because the course has a lot of potential. The layout is challenging and precise shots are necessary. However when all grass is under repairs, it requires taking a lot of relief.

Love this course. The course had a lot of water on it this trip making for some difficult spots but overall the course was in fantastic shape. One of my favorite courses in st George Utah. Plenty of water along the course for drinking which was appreciated on a hot day.
