Try to get here every time I come to Chatuge. Living in Atlanta and in DC for many years, the bill for this quality of food and service would be almost double in a major city and the eats are on par with most any high end restaurant I ve been to. Terrific spot.

Best dining experience in the area. Excellent food. Excellent service. We took two vacationing friends there who are vegetarian and when there was nothing specifically for them on the menu, we were amazed to hear the server say, "What would you like?" The kitchen prepared a meal for them to order, and it was outstanding. It is a treat to eat at a restaurant where people are passionate about food.

For such a small town, truly an outstanding restaurant. My only fear is that the recently doubled in size and my experience is that places that get bigger generally decline in quality. So far, that doesn't appear to be the case with the Copper Door. Their chef really knows his way Aunt the kitchen, and the staff hasn't lost their attention to detail or their care of their customers. Outstanding steaks, cooked perfectly. Very clean restaurant with a wonderful ambience.

Not just the best for one hundred miles around, but one of the best anywhere. It is a piece of New Orleans hidden in the tiny town of Hayesville, North Carolina. The fish, steak and Creole entrees are as good as any of the top restaurants in the Crescent City. The atmosphere drips of a downtown NOLA eatery. There are also some savory North Carolina classics. The wine list is second to none
The staff is knowledgeable, efficient and welcoming. You will be pampered with a meal at this restaurant and leave with your tummy smiling. Prices are less than NO LA, but higher than your typical NC restaurant. A meal here is an excellent value if you appreciate great food and service.

Very good food with a very courteous staff. I would recommend this to anyone who is in town. The best foie gras ever, even better than what we had in Paris. Food are excellent there. If you re in town, for birthday or any other occasion. Very pleasant and quiet atmosphere for a lovely dinner. Great job there! Lots complaints about the place. There s a different between eating and dinning. If you want a place to eat to fill up your stomach. That s not the place to go, but if you desire a great dinning experience you ll be at the right place.

We drove from Andrews NC to the Copper Door in Hayesville, and it was so worth the drive. The staff was very professional and courteous and although we had no reservation (cell connection in the mountains is spotty at best) they sat us at a table in the bar within 10 minutes. We ordered the Warm brie in Pastry as an appetizer. Oh my, it was wonderful with cranberries and walnuts. I had the meatloaf and my husband had the pot roast. We both enjoyed our selections and my husband said it was the best he has ever had. Next time we visit Blue Ridge area, The Copper Door will be one our stops

Fine dining done right. . .in the mountains. Traditional menu with a Cajun flair. Our group of 5 had no clunkers - duck breast was fabulous, red grouper special was beautifully cooked, the giant pork chop juicy and moist and a crawfish tortellini was excellent. Veggie side was a bit of a snooze but the grits were awesome. Don't skip the grilled 1/2 head of romaine with Caesar dressing. Yum. As yes, we stuffed in dessert - my gluten free soul was soothed with a flourless chocolate cake. Sort of like eating brownie batter only better. There was gelato on the table but nobody offered up a taste it was too good to share. You NEED a reservation during busy season, don't miss out if coming to town. Oh, they also have a really decent wine list and bar.

Fine, fine dining off the beaten path in Hayesville, NC. Chef Dennis' award winning restaurant is far above others claiming big city spots in food quality, service, wines, and desserts. It's where "the locals prefer to eat" as well as a spot picked out by visitors from far and wide. Don't miss it if you're out this way. #finedining #copperdoor

Everything was wonderful! Ordered a medium rare filet and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Even the carrots, used as a garnish, were wonderful. Service was prompt and courteous.

Only thing that could be better is larger restrooms; a single person at a time is not sufficient for such a busy restaurant.

The food was good, but severely over priced. The steak quality was bad... like so bad that it would make Gordon Ramsey ask if they were mad for charging that price for grade D meats. Do yourself a favor, save the $75 per person (not including drinks and the coffee they offer at the end), and buy your own appetizer, salad, steaks, coffee, and desert. It will not only save you money, but the let down. On top of that, the staff was rude and snobbish. Except for our waitress, she was amazing and friendly (Virgo club ftw). I wish I remembered her name (sorry!)

Enjoyed dinner here yesterday. At the moment they are doing a fixed menu in the restaurant and ala carte in the bar. We originally made reservations for the restaurant, but cancelled those and did ala carte in the bar after seeing the menu. The food is over the top excellent and service is very good. I wish they'd scrap the fixed menu in the restaurant, or at least offer the ala carte items they have in the bar in the restaurant. The fixed menu is a four course meal, so if you don't like a choice in one of the courses, you basically are stuck with it.

The service here is excellent. The seafood chowder, crab cake and shrimp kristine were all very very tasty. The crab cake was the best I have eaten and I used to work at a four star restaurant on an island! We all had steaks, which were cooked to perfection and quite flavorful. The added mushrooms and onions were amazing. I enjoyed the bread pudding for dessert. The whole dining experience was one I definitely want to repeat.

Beautiful restaurant with delectable food and amazing staff! I can t recommend this place enough! When I come here I am excited to try foods I ve never had before because everything here is delicious and of the best quality! (I even found a dry red wine I like!) The space is cosy with a vintage, modern twist and has pieces of art/decor done by local artists and the Chef s mother!

I'm sorry! I've tried to give this place 5 stars but it just didn't live up to it's hype or word of mouth reputation. I had the halibut special and it wasn't. I am fighting with myself to give it, or not give it, a second chance. Also, the atmosphere was cramped and way too loud for the $$$.
