Our History
CooperCompanies was founded in 1958 by Martin H. Smith as a small laboratory specializing in contact lens research and development. Over the years, the company expanded its product portfolio through strategic acquisitions of other medical device companies such as Ocular Sciences Inc., Advanced Medical Optics Inc., and Paragon Vision Sciences.
Today, CooperCompanies has two main business units: CooperVision and CooperSurgical. CooperVision focuses on contact lenses for myopia management, astigmatism correction, presbyopia correction as well as specialty lenses for patients with irregular corneas or post-surgical needs. Meanwhile, CooperSurgical provides women's health care products including fertility treatments such as IVF (in vitro fertilization), prenatal testing kits for genetic disorders detection among others.
Our Products
CooperVision offers an extensive range of soft contact lenses designed to meet different visual needs including daily disposable contacts like MyDay®; monthly replacement contacts like Biofinity®; toric contacts like Avaira Vitality™ Toric; multifocal contacts like Proclear® Multifocal; scleral lenses like Zenlens™ Scleral Contact Lenses among others.
In addition to these standard offerings from their product line-up they also have innovative solutions such as MiSight®, which is the first FDA-approved soft contact lens designed specifically for slowing down myopia progression in children aged 8-12 years old.
Meanwhile at Coopersurgical they offer fertility treatments such as IVF (in vitro fertilization) which includes Embryo Transfer Catheters & Needles along with other devices used during procedures related to infertility treatment or gynecological surgeries etc.. They also provide prenatal testing kits for genetic disorders detection among others.
