I've been visiting here for over 40 years. Excellent place to spend the day with family.
Place was nice and all but for driving down from Lafayette it turned out to be a total bust..the whole goal was the headless horseman hayride when we got there at 6. We get a slip that says our hayride was at 10 p.m. on a Sunday! We also find out that the 10 p.m. meant that thats when the line started and we wouldn t be getting on till 10:30 or 10:45. That s crazy late for a Sunday and we live 1 hr and 15 minutes away so we decided to leave around 9:15. No way with 3 kids under 8 years old could stay there for 5-6 hours. Total bummer and waste of money.
Great museum, the symphony is fantastic only cons is the traffic while exiting.
Excellent sound for a huge crowd of 5k. Laid back comfy atmosphere.
Awesome place for 5yrs old and up! A true gem of indy
Been there had a great time and yes I hope to go back this year. Great for every one.
Excellent place to go with your family and enjoy some great family time. We went over the holidays and really had a lot of fun. The staff really goes out of their way to make sure everyone has a good time. This is a very unique place. A fun family outing.
Every time I visit I'm always impressed with how many staff and volunteers are around and what great energy and excitement they display. Thank you for making this a great and fun place to visit!
Taped info is not clear (technically). Tape fades in & out. Had to contact O for operator. Marsha Van Voorhis
Had a Wonderful time. SAW THE BEACH BOYS!!!!!!!!!!!
The immersive experience they provide allows our kids to learn about our past in a great way.
Connor Prairie is a very great historical site and experience!
I think its the first place my kids have ever enjoyed learning history
My friends brought my wife and I to check this place out. I was really interesting and fun. I loved how even though my friend works there, when she would talk to the actors, they wouldn't respond to her out of character. It is a very fun way of learning about history.
We love going to Conner Prairie. We even have a membership. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the headless horseman this year. We go every year and spend alot of time with my 3 kids doing the different activities. We felt like this year there were not as many activities or they all started at the same times. We ended up leaving early when in the past we would stay the whole time and not even get to them all.
It was quite an amazing experience! I learned some things I didn't know before. This is definitely a great place for kids. My favorite thing was the raid experience, the video and effects were awesome. I never knew that confederates attacked all the way up in Indiana. I definitely recommend this place.
The was the first time I've ever been. We went for Conner scary. The haunted hayride was great. It was SUPER busy. I went on a weekday because I thought it would be less crowded. Couldn't see much because everything was already full of people! The corn maze was very unorganized, no signs where to enter or line up. I was so irritated after waiting in a line for nothing that we didn't even do it. Overall I feel like I wasted my money.
I would like to go back sometime for their regular park.
I wonderful place to spend the day with friends and family.
I am a bus driver,l take a lot of kids there it is very interesting for kids and adults.
We live in Fishers and frequent CP once/week every week of the year. My daughter is 3 so it's nice to pop in to the indoor play area for 45 min in winter months so she can meet friends. The outdoor areas are our favorite part though. The Treetop Outpost and Animal Encounters are MUST SEES each time we visit. I think the front desk people could be a little more friendly but every other staff member has been great! We're excited for the new Makers Space building!
Headless horseman is a fun family event, although the ride is short and a bit underwhelming for adults, kid was thrilled. They had a bin of corn for kids to play in, which my 5 year old was reluctant to ever leave.
The park on normal days is very educational, with lots of hands on opportunities. The treehouse area expanded this year, and is great, but make sure you have a second set of adult eyes for fast little ones. The sprawl makes it hard to keep track and there are lots of blind corners in the playground.
Nice active place to view history. ..nice to be outdoors for most of the museum
The staff is so knowledgeable about life in the 1800s! Just talking to the "locals" gives you a great hands on history lesson.
We visited during winter months, so we were not able to enjoy the outdoor facilities. However we very much like the indoor area, and the approach they take to educating people, especially children, about history.
Glorify the age when there was slavery, very wrong and very offended, possibly a guided tour could help
Great historic environment with interaction for the kids and good educational opportunities.
I really loved this place! We went to the Michael Jackson concert preformed by the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and it was a phenomenal outdoor concert. You can bring your own food, drinks (alcohol included), lawn chairs/blankets. It makes for a great night.
Fun place to take the kids to teach them about the pioneer days.
Fun place for kids. Enjoyed the hot air baloon ride. They have lot of scheduled activities for kids that the kids could be signed up for.
Interactive learning for all
Live animals
If the weather is nice CP is always a fun experience. For parents, it's a great place to take kids 365 days a year
We love going to the Symphony on the Prairie! The staff is so helpful and so organized! The artists and special events they bring in are incredible and, as always, the ISO is the star of the shows!
Staff always stays true to character. You cross the covered bridge and it's like you go back in time! Kids loved it!
I tried to use the internet to purchase my tickets for Saturday night at Symphony on the Prairie. It is very unfriendly they would not accept my address where I lived after 20 years and lock me up. I had to drive 50 miles one way to buy tickets in Anderson. I think you need to update your internet sites where tickets can be purchased much easier. Also wish that you would start the concert at 7 because it becomes very cold by 10. And if you drive any distance you get home so late. To get to the program the only thing I really enjoyed was a violin soloist she was excellent. The rest is selection was not enjoyable for me and our other guests. please consider the time change thank you
Such a disappointment. We drove an hour only to find it closed when the website said it would be open. Judging by the dozens of other families walking up to the door and turning around we weren't the only disappointed family.
We took our 3, 4, and 10 year old and had a great time. The interactive video attractions we're realistic and left me with a great sense of pride for my state. I also enjoyed talking with one of the staff about the different types of guns used. My 10 year old daughter threw some axes and loved the knowledge of the past. All 3 enjoyed the treehouse and building with giant blocks. The animals are farm animals so don't expect exotics. We walked on stilts, watched a blacksmith, pumped water from a well and played games the children from those times enjoyed. Regretfully we did not ride the hot air balloon as this proved to be quite costly on top of the admission fee. We also spent some time in the childrens activity center. They had a blast playing with the other kids! The only complaint I have is with internal fees, should be included with admission. Overall, kids stayed busy the whole time!
This place is a treasure in Hamilton County. Great history, interactive museum, music venue is a blast.
Good character knowledge from the actors and educational content was worth the membership!
Our family had such a wonderful time today! We visited the children's museum, the zoo, and Conner Prairie this weekend and all of my kids said Conner Prairie was their favorite!! We will definitely come back!
Great fun for the whole family. I love howbthe people stay in character the whole time.
In october, my family visited conner pairie, everything was great untill our 4 month old son got hungry. We tried to find the "mothers room" that was advertised in indys child. We found it, but it was locked. The lady working the cash register said that they keep it locked, but dont provide them a key. My wife ended up having to feed our child in a bathroom stall, then lay our baby on the floor of the public restroom to get her clothing and baby sling back on.
We love Conner Prarie, but recently found an article in Indys child called 5 things to do with baby in tow. It really made us mad that they advertise having a mothers room knowing darn well they keep it locked, and dont provide employees a key.
No mom should have to lay her baby on a bathroom floor to feed them.
Awesome experience. Chaperone for a field trip. Great staff. Plenty of facilities for kids.
Been going to Conner Prairie for yrs love it here. Its pretty awesome to think about how it was to live back then.
Conner Prairie is the best. The Headless Horseman hayride and haunted corn maze were awesome! We had constant fun for over 4 hours and could have stayed longer. Looking forward to going back!
We love this place. This was our second trip, and we enjoyed it just as much as the first time. Great place for the whole family of all ages.
Had a good time with my children and there school..
Great place to teach children about the history of the United States.
Great venue for concerts featuring Indy Symphony and/or tribute groups.
I enjoyed the Symphony on the prairie concert. The Beach Boys were the music of the evening. I enjoyed the band and the wonderful songs. The balloon ride is very good, but a little pricey.
It's good for kids to understand the history and living style in 1800. You can check the status of balloon ride in their website to plan accordingly.
We always go for the Smithsonian annual free day. Kids love the tree house along with everything else.
Its nice place to know about history and you can experience how it was during civil war. Houses are built that way, people are dressed that way. Animal farm was great for kids. And balloon ride was awesome. Should visit atleast once.
I m a little disappointed that tix were full price but everything wasn t open. Also perturbed at the couple of employees that were quite rude about the mask wearing (this was outside in open air, where we were no less than 8 feet apart), and one who was pretty rude about one of my kids even looking in the direction of an area that was closed while we were all waiting to recongregate outside of bathrooms. Then they changed their sing-songy, fake tunes immediately to suggest I get a membership and come back, but honestly I don t see the point. The buildings that were open had super friendly staff and helpful. You can t say that you encourage guests to wear masks where distancing isn t possible online, then change it to a mandatory requirement on site and try to implement it outside where it doesn t apply anyway. I understand that covid has placed undue stress on places like this, but the differences between what is stated ahead of time and what I found in person is really irritating.
Great place to spend whole day. Lots of things to see and do for everyone with hands on experience. Historical and educational. Love it.
When we lived in Carmel, Indiana this was one of our favorite places to go! Always a good time and the kids loved all the animals they got to interact with. The baby pigs were adorable. Many happy memories, and when we next visit Indiana, we'll be sure to visit Conner Prairie again !
Great place to take your kids all year round inside or out they get things inside to see plus in the summertime see how people used to do pioneer age before gas-electric phones are they even invented how they used to do things back then some people still do it that way today and technologies or flop people do not keep the technology they refuse to use it but this is a good place to take your kids all year roundChick-fil-A hours and so he could have a really good place in the good place to eat to
This park delivers an excellent family experience. I really appreciate the effort the staff takes to create an immersive environment.
