I attended a convention for work here over the weekend. It was a very nice facility overall and the fact that the Marriott is located right across the way was a great benefit. The only down side though was the fact that you had to go all the way up to the top floor of you needed the bathroom.

I'd lie to say I didn't wish it was the home of the Patriots and Hartford's 6 super bowls......

but don't let that detract from the venue, very nice, is starting to show it's age a bit indoors, interior feels a little dated but its still a very nice functional convention space

Beautiful and clean venue with easy to understand parking lot instructions. The nearby restaurants fit either the casual or higher end dining experience and there are tons of places to eat nearby.

Expensive but clean and well maintained. Parking was tough and hard area to get in and out of when its busy. Overall typical busy city convention center with friendly staff and a lot going on.

I go here each year for Connecticon. The convention is great, check it out if you're into anime and cartoon stuff. The convention center is easy to get to from the highway, in fact you can see it from the highway. There is a large parking garage and they set up the event so right from there you get guided in and given your badge. Once inside, the convention center is easy to navigate with elevators and escalators to each floor. The Halls are carpeted so if you need to sit for a minute against the wall, it's not terribly uncomfortable. The main floor with the high ceiling, used for the dealer room at Connecticon is well lit and has its own food station. The room above is used for the masquerade and performances with its built in speakers and theater-like style. There's also a way outside and across the highway to bring you to a large collection of food trucks. My favorite is the pizza truck that sells onion, bacon, mashed potato pizza. Overall, a very nice experience every year and I'll definitely be back next year.

I went to a flower and garden show here and although it was crowded, the convention center was able to handle it. The ticket sales was down stairs so those with tickets were able to go in without having to fight through the crowds of people buying tickets. The place is huge with several escalators and elevators. The ballrooms which were used for classrooms were a floor above. Not only was the place huge, it has a rich feel to it. By this I mean it isn't a run down building. Formal events requiring tuxedos or gowns is not going to be out of place here. It is next to a Marriott and you can get from the hotel to the convention center without going outside. There is garage parking that is charged by the hour.

Went to the Connecticut Flower Show. Had a great time. Plenty of bathrooms, nice lunch available for reasonable price. Could use more seating to rest. Lot's of interesting vendors also.

I went for a conference. It is clean and easy to navigate. I did have fun at the conference. No free WiFi. So I had to use my data all week. I finally found the USB ports to plug into to charge. Told not to bring food in. Well, then how am I going to have time to eat between workshops. NAD should have taken care of that. Fee-based WiFi and the food situation were the worst aspects

Plenty of parking. Seemed well organized. Bathrooms were well kept and that was with a lot women in and out all day. Food was average and expensive. $7 for 3 chicken fingers and $3 for a bottle of water is alot. Never saw an convention center staff the entire time I was there.

We went here to attend retro World Expo, a retro video gaming convention... What a great crowd with awesome prevent presenters and loads of vendors as well. It was a great time meeting many of the YouTube personalities like the game Chasers Pat the NES nerd as well as the gaming historian... Only complaints Wise food was only sell, so, and fairly expensive... But that is to be expected at a large Conference Center!

Nice facility with affordable and convenient parking. Easy access too as it's right off two interstates. Plenty of lodging on site and within a few minutes walk and there are also good food and entertainment choices in the neighborhood.

Security was diligent walking up and down the isles but can't say anything positive about the lack of control of the isles in regards to keeping them free and clear of people. The security guard had to wait and push through the group of people and never said a thing. Kinda sad really. Lovely facility otherwise.

The venue in and of itself is awesome. As vendors at a convention, the staff was very accomodating.

As a visitor on the floor, using the bathrooms, food establishment, and facility, the staff caused more problems than the guests.

Our convention had Omnigender bathrooms and staff consistently made comments about who was allowed to use them. When my male assistant accompanied me to the bathroom to assist me into my costume, we were told that he wasnt allowed to assist me in a stall. I was basically told to strip in the common area of the bathroom in front of everyone in order for him to help me. When i basically told them that I wasnt going to do that, I was told to find a female to help me. I did not, ignored them, and got dressed in a stall away from other people. Just because we walk around in flamboyant costumes does not mean that we want everyone seeing our private parts. For the record, i have been to this event for the last 3 yrs and this is the first time I encountered this problem.

Second was food. The staff put up signs everywhere that no outside food or beverages were allowed in the facility. However, they did not offer a menu to accomodate various food allergies. There are signs for Gluten Free burgers however the food is prepared in the same kitchen and the staff uses the same gloves and utensils to handle GF food. Again, as a vendor, we can not leave our booths and rely on helpers to fetch food for us. Since we couldnt eat any food in the venue, we sent them to outside venues to get food. They were stopped and told that the food needed to be eaten outside. Well...we cant leave the booth to do so. We ended up having to have them 'smuggle' food in, which was great because apparently a number of guests got sick from eating at the venues cafe. Finally, IF the cafe is the ONLY place to eat, the center does a horrible job staffing the lines, which take hours to stand in, only to find out there is nothing you can eat.

Finally, on numerous occasions i was commented on by staff about my helper doing things like rubbing my feet and back and telling me it was inappropriate. My costume weighed 30+lbs and I had to wear boots with it. I am not sure where they think they can tell paying guests what they can and cant engage in,but i found it highly inappropriate. This was on top of watching staff prevent other patrons from taking pictures. When asked why we were prohibited from cerrain actions we were given canned answers 'You cant do that on our property'.

There were some staff that was nice. One woman who staffed the omnigender womens bathroom in the front of the vendors area was really nice and apologized for what other staff members said in the bathrooms. She also kept that bathroom pristine.

Finally at the end when we had to close up our booth, they turned off the AC making the place instantaneously get ridiculously hot and started ripping up the carpet instantly. We had to wait for them to rip things up before we could take things down.

The only reason this venue gets 3 stars is because the facility is convenient making it easy to plan for. Otherwise, based on thos experience, i would give it a 2.

Connecticut Convention center is a great place, parking, may be a little difficult at times, but it is a great place for the home shows, that we use for our business, which always does well with the leads we receive

This convention center is centrally located and easy to get to off the freeway. They host a lot of great events throughout the year. The only thing I dislike is that you have to pay for parking. I mean, I get it; they need to make money. But if I'm already going to spend money to attend a convention, shouldn't parking be included? Aside from that gripe, this place is good. It's always kept clean and there are places to eat nearby so you don't have to overpay for a meal.

As someone who goes to a lot of function spaces every year, I can say with confidence that this is the most well laid out. Every room has it's use from small meeting rooms to the exhibit halls that could host an indoor airshow.
