Compton's Pancake House Review

Good was delicious and staff was all super friendly and in great moods. Our waitress was super nice and funny.

Compton s has always been my go-to place. Everything is delicious and I ve never had a bad meal there. My father and I used to go there almost every weekend (sometimes we even went on both Saturday and Sunday). Coffee always tastes fresh and is never burnt. Also, the employees there have always been extremely nice and come over to constantly fill up your coffee cup. Food comes out fast. **I highly recommend the corn beef hash stuffed omelette.**

Very busy, but was seated promptly. Server greeted us enthusiastically and provided drinks appropriately. We ordered and then waited an extended amount of time. It took a while to receive our food; however, when everything came it was made correctly and was hot. The garden omelette I received was a little on the dry side; the fried potatoes were delicious. I gave this restaurant 3 stars due to the long wait time for food, dryness of my breakfast meal, and the overall loudness of the restaurant. It was crowded and extremely loud, making it difficult to have a conversation. Adding sound absorbing equipment might be a good idea.

Could not have had better breakfast. Do not miss the omlets.

Great breakfast food! Everything I've tried has been delicious and worth the price. The atmosphere makes you feel like you're in New York. Apparently it's a regular occurrence for the staff to have an attitude with customers to really give it that New York vibe.

Would've been nice to actually try your food but the "owner" said to "call back at 11 because we're too busy" is that how you handle a business; It gets a little busy, so you turn money away? Hey whatever, I'll go somewhere that's actually punctual and looking to make money. 0 stars. Get a better staff that can handle the pressure.

3-29-2017 My husband and I had breakfast this morning at Compton's. This was by far the most disgusting breakfast we have ever had out in a diner. The food came out cold and so unappealing. We told the server and she said I just can't believe that.. Why would we complain and lie about it. The food was so cold that the butter on the pancakes didn't even melt nor the butter on the toast. The home fries looked like they just swept them off the floor and put them on a plate and served them. The sausage was nothing but pure fat on the "Triple Play" special. Couldn't even eat them because of the fat content. When we went to pay the cashier, she asked "so how was everything"? My reply was "it was horrible/unacceptable. She did not even pursue my remark. She totally ignored my remark. Why would she ask us how everything was when she totally ignored our comment?????? Beware people, this place changed for the "WORST". When you see their discounts in the Pocono papers, don't bother cutting them out - go elsewhere and you won't be sorry. We will not be back..........They don't even deserve one star but I had to put it otherwise I could not post my comment !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This place is classic -amazing- fast and always a great meal! The servers are awesome, your food comes in 10 minutes or less every time!
I ordered the cheesecake pancakes (because why wouldn't you?) And they were incredible!! Not to mention awesome omlettes - corned beef hash and so on.

My family and I have been coming here for the last three years, the food is decent and the price is reasonable. I will never come back again to this place after today! Upon being seated my son had water drip down on his head from an air vent in the ceiling to the right of the table we were seated. I brought it to the attention of the manager, she told us that she was "aware of the problem and can't do anything about it now". To my surprise, she didn't have the decency to offer an apology and she walked away. Moments later, a man wearing a chef uniform came over to our table and asked us if we would like to move to another table, I politely explained to him that our concern was that I witnessed several of the staff members walking directly under the leaking vent carrying open food and drinks back and forth to customers. All I asked him to do was to tell the staff to avoid walking directly underneath the leaking vent this way no food or drinks will become contaminated from the leaking water. He became very agitated and rude and told my family and I "if we didn't like it, we can go somewhere else". At that point we decided to leave. It seems like the management cares more about money than the health of their customers! I will be contacting the PA department of health in regards to this. No one deserves to be treated like this, especially when we have been loyal customers over the past few years.

Just an AWESOME place and people. Food was spectacular! Prices were amazingly affordable

I had The super breakfast meal. Bacon sausage links pancakes home fries coffee. Superb. Excellent. Best breakfast anywhere. What I like most of all the eggs were perfectly done over easy and the home fries were like chunks of potato

We found this place while staying in the Poconos and were looking for a joint to provide something outside of the hotel setting. We thoroughly enjoyed the place. The place was clean, the service was fast and good and the breakfast options between the pancakes and omelette were very enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this place.

Good food, but the view out of window is less than desirable. Junkies shooting up in plain site

Usually I like this place. Took my order as always. Same order. Forgot about my food completely. Waited 40 minutes then asked for my check. Saw I was charged for my food still. Told my waitress she forgot about my food. Then said I was lying like 2-3 times. Disappointed with Compton s now. Thought things were getting better after they got rid of the guy that s always screaming in the kitchen.

Where to begin. This delightful hidden treasure has a great homely ambiance. Be prepared for a long line that moves quickly. Recommend the pancakes, waffles and burgers.

Eh, this place was ok. The food was good, however that's not the reason for the 3 starts.

I ordered 3 pancakes for breakfast and I received pancakes about 5'' in diameter. It wasn't really even the size, it was that they were about $7 or $8 for those 3 small pancakes. They were good, I would have just gotten something else had I known.

Prepare for a long wait on the weekends. Food and service is excellent though!

Loved the people, loved the food. I don't remember the name of the omelette I got but it was full of vegetables. The pancakes were really good. One member of our party thought the food was undersalted, but that is personal preference--im used to less salt so I thought it was fine.

Would highly recommend pancakes. I wish I knew the name of our waitress because she was the best.

Love...Love...Love this place!!! Breakfast foods are sooo gd and are cheap price! There pancakes are the bomb!!! Also, ask for Jackie, one of the waitresses!!! She is sooo nice and really takes care of you! I always ask for her when I go there!!!

I always enjoy the food here, some of the wait staff are better than others. But overall I like this place.

We have been coming to your restaurant for years but I have to say the last two visits were horrible, we were in sat around 11am after waiting 15 mins to get table we waited 45 mins for food that was wrong sub par

Great food, great staff, large menu, great prices. What more could you want? Here for a week, went there every day. Sorry but this part of the Poconos is not really for foodies. We try someplace different every day, but Compton's is consistently good. You can feel the owners passion for the place and his staff make you feel that they love to be there together. You can see the way they work together as one large team. Try other places if you want, but we've been to most and Compton's is the best.

Love the potato pancakes! We went recently (around 1pm) and while waiting for our food all you could hear was 2 or 3 servers in the back room who were done with their shift or almost, shouting to each other about some personal stories. Whatever no big deal, but I don't need to hear their drama or personal problems,not my business. My only complaint.

I been in this place a year ago and I love it and this year i decided To come Back but it s Totally change instead of friendly waitresses all the zombies are here, I don t like the atmosphere and stuff, I never come back

As always enjoyed my breakfast. This is one of my favorite places to eat in the area. You get generous portions and fast service. Get here early it gets packed fast. I enjoyed the banana walnut pancakes extremely!!!
