I donated blood 2 weeks ago and am still bruised all over my arm. I think that the technician needed a little more training not only in inserting a needle but how to apply a turniquet.
Also, I was promised to receive my covid antibody testing within 48 hours via email or worse case within a week by mail. Not only have I not received anything but my messages have been unanswered. Very frustrating since I would donate plasma to help if I knew!

Lifesouth Community Blood Center employees are some of the most dedicated employees I ve met in my life. Those folks are just as happy to take your blood as you are giving it. That s because we know how important it is to help a citizen or young child who may need it. It truly is the gift of life and I will continue to reach my new goal of 11 gallons which is only a few points away. And from there I am heading to twenty gallons. Thank you, Frank McDowell, Spring Hill, Florida

When to do COVID plasma donation. Told they had a full schedule and no. I only saw 2 other cars in the donor parking. I guess they were parked around back. Awful quiet for a full house of donors. I will just stick to 13th ST. They had a full schedule too, but got me in anyway.

I tried to donate blood as my doctor encouraged me too, as I had a high hemoglobin count . Went to Life South and was informed that I needed a physicians written instructions stating that I could donate blood.
I went to a blood specialist and they drew a blood sample to ascertain my situation. I was given clearance to donate blood and in fact was encouraged to donate. When I got to south life I gave them the paperwork showing that I could donate blood. The lady at Life South said that she needed to get the approval of the
medical staff at Life South. After a short wait they came out and said that they would have to be paid $30 to draw blood from me, I said no thanks and left.
I won t go back to that place.
