Community Action Services & Food Bank Review

This organization will not help you with an other than food. If you need assistance with shelter do not waste your time. Those that help in the food part are kind and helpful and funny but the employees in the office are rude condescending and and have rude attitudes. Save yourself time and just go to Salt Lake for help, that's were this non profit will send you anyway.

They had everything set up properly so the process was smooth and quick.

I work for. United. Way / para Trasit. So I was there waiting. For dispatch to get there Sat morning. But. They have helped me out from time to time with food. Its not too bad place to get food in hard times.

Unless you have money will they help you. My husband and I are in a pinch and went to community action for help. Mind you we don't have a car, so it was all walking for us and we are broke. They. Expected us to find work, find a place that would take us, and apply to housing in two days...all on foot. This place is not the place to go unles you have a home to goto at night

They are very helpful and have lots of resources. The staff are very kind and carring.

Best experience in years with any customer service. ;)

This is more than just a food bank. They provide numerous resources aimed at assisting people to become self reliant. The place is clean, staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and they provide numerous services. Great place to visit when you need assistance and volunteer when you can give assistance.

Aside from the receptionist very warm, friendly and helpful.

Here you can find all kinds of things from housing help jobs, help getting into a home paying your bills getting your bus pass your birth certificate your ID. Also a place where you can get emergency food and help with your family food situation. Donations are accepted here as well which keeps this place going well staffed very clean good customer service

Donated food. They need small veggie oil and other things. Call and ask they are super kind

This is an awesome place to volunteer at! It makes you feel good to be there! The full time people who actually work there are really friendly and cool, they make both the volunteers and the clients feel good and welcome. Here is a shout out to Dave Smith, Brent, Sonny, Charlie, Bruce, Howard and Jasmine!!!

Reception is helpful to check in. You're able to is the food bank here as well as it provides classes for the community and education.

My Family hit a rough spot this year my wife ad surgery and I did as well and so we reached out for help for rent assistant, they call it HOMELESS PREVENTION which it is not they are just like DEPT OF WORKFORCE when it comes to rental assistant well worse cause at-least with the DEPT OF WORKFORCE they will tell you upfront and say sorry you dont qualify at COMMUNITY ACTION they will make you waste your time there you will go in one day for an hour to go over your paper work and then schedule and appointment for 2 hours to go over you paper again and to be told they want information from family members all this stuff. SO FYI YOU PROBABLY HAVE TO BE HOMELESS TO GET SOME KIND OF HELP WENT IT COMES TO RENT ASSISTANT THEY ARE WORSE THAN DEPT OF WORKFORCE!!!!!

What you do for the community is great. you should have your staff go through your stuff because you're giving away expired food. To all those getting food from here please check your dates.

Great help with food and personal hygiene accessories. Most bakery foods are expire on the day you come in and most can foods are not up to date and there's fresh fruit like bananas and farm vegetables. I don't eat the expire food because my stomach is picky but I've referred some friends in need here. It's a great help when your in need of help.

Volunteering here has literally been nothing short of AMAZING!! The guys who run it every day work so hard to make sure it's a clean, fun, and functional environment so that everyone that walks through the doors leave with what they need plus so much more, making sure that no one leaves hungry! The main thing I can say about the Community Action Food Bank is it's an Amazing place filled with Amazing people and I feel proud just to have had the opportunity to be there!

I'm grateful they are there to help in our hours of need and they do a fantastic job at it!

We volunteered in the food bank and learned all about the organization and what they do for people. I know the food is good because I spent a few hours sorting through it and restocking the shelves. If you are looking for a place to volunteer this place is perfect, but the volunteer schedule is booked about a month in advance so you can't just show up.

Great place to donate your time, boxed or canned food, and or money.

They're all so helpful and understanding. I even found a handwritten inspirational card in my order.

The service is great, and they have lots of great resources for families and individuals in need.

Community Action Services (Food Bank) in Provo help SO many people in SO many ways!! Any chance I have to go volunteer there I take it!! The staff are extremely friendly and have helped myself in many ways just by allowing me to volunteer... My anxiety and depression has gone way down just by being in such a positive, uplifting place!! Thank you guys for everything!!!

They are doing really good work. You can't bring your kids when you volunteer :(

They were willing to help for a couple of days but nothing else even though I did everything they asked of me.

Community Action is one of the most worthy places to donate your money that I am aware of. They do great work there. They've zet every individual to make sure that they have their needs filled without giving 2 people who are undeserving Moochers. I have donated time and money and I certainly believe that this is a worthy cause if you have the desire to donate. If you ever see a panhandler, I would suggest that if you want to give money, give it to the Community Action food bank because they will distribute it to those who are truly hungry.

They have been a real life saver for me. I am struggling mentally and financially, so to get help is a real blessing. If it wasn't for this type of service, I really would not know what to do.

The staff the volunteers they are all so helpful and I have always felt comfortable going.

The office staff as well as the volunteers are awesome!! They always give me great information. The volunteers that I've had the pleasure of meeting & working with have been so kind and helpful. And Keith went above and beyond to help me and my family way beyond the scope that one would generally expect from a volunteer. So I wanted to sincerely thank everyone I worked with this last Friday the 29 the of March.
And Keith & Albert, you were there for strangers. My faith in the human race has been restored!!! That is a plus on any day.

This is a good place if you need food and you're homeless and need a doctor.

I had a horrible experience here though I did get a one night voucher at my choice of the two seediest motels in town.

Good to do community service hours AND to access public resources like the local food Bank, as well as financial management educational classes to promote self sufficiency AND independance, Emergency rent subsistence

I did ommunity service at this place. One of their Supervisors called Brent is super RACIST!!! He admitted to me to not liking black people.

I've always been able to help my family who are war vets and those who support all our heroes

They try and do a really good job and most of the time they do it could be a little cleaner though

Good place for food resources. Trying to get any other type of help is like trying to put clothes on a octopus.

They are always wonderful to work with. I am grateful that so many people have donated to them. The food will make my Christmas much better than it would have been.

I really enjoy coming to volunteer here. The employees are very nice, and there is always a lot to be done. They provide a lot of services besides giving food items. This food bank gets a lot of food donations, however, a lot of their equipment could use an update.

Could not recommend this place enough. They gave me more food an toiletries than I needed and were very kind the whole way through. Highly recommend for anyone looking for aid.

This place has gone to hell. I came here for help and was degraded and criticised instead by the hispanic case worker here. I was LAID OFF for 2 months. I've had multiple interviews and proof of each and she was so insulting it's unreal. I'm a single mom about to be homeless and she was so mean I can't believe the lack of compassion. She sincerely sounded like she didn't want to help at all. She is in the wrong field. I'd advice seeking other routes at this point if you can

Great people who volunteer. Very welcoming and extremely helpful to those in need.

Very helpful. We got food and everything we could possibly need to help us start a new life. We couldn't have done it without them.

The workers were very patient and appreciated when I needed help.

I was helping a couple clients and I somewhat got a whiff of how it felt like to be in need this office is rude, ignorant and extremely judge mental !!!
The woman at the counter refused to help a gentleman in a walker. She spoke to him from behind the counter and refused to leave her post to help him
They kept giving me dirty looks and assumed I was needing a hand
I wanted to ask about services needed they were very uncooperative.
I would say to the employees find another job if you hate your job so much LoL
