Great views from the porch and a wide variety at this coffee spot. There's something for everyone from gelato to pastries and of course coffee. Plenty of seating and just all around good vibe. Staff is friendly and helpful in directing you to a good coffee selection based on your preferences.

Friendly staff, tasty beverages and food. They now sell a limited selection of beer and wine too. The food and alcohol are a little pricey but the coffee and gelato are the main reasons to go anyway, and both are top notch.

Pleasantly suited along the waterfront of downtown Beaufort, there isn't much to NOT like about this treasure. Great coffee, tasty light meal options, gelato, sorbet, wine and craft beers. A little something for everyone complete with excellent customer care. Always a treat!

It's a great place to sit and relax and drink some coffee but not a good place for studying. To be loud and the lighting is not good and there aren't a lot of plugs or seating. Really really excellent food and pastries

Beaufort has very little to do so this place is a pleasant go-to.

Great coffee, even better gelato. The views of the river are amazing here as well. This is where the locals get coffee. Live music and open mic nights on the weekends also.

I had a sandwich and chips one evening. Not much of a selection for dinner. I sat at the outdoor seating area. It was comfortable and quiet, and afforded a pleasant view of the water and boardwalk area, with the bridge to Lady's Island a few hundred yards away. The sandwich was pretty good, and the servers were friendly. I enjoyed the evening here.

This is one of our favorite places to visit when we come to Beaufort. Friendly service, delicious gelato, and a great view of the water. Like any good coffee shop it feels comfortable and welcoming.

You have never thought that comfort would be so close to your heart until you walk in common grounds. The coffee is second to none. The employees are amazing and treat everyone the same. Wonderful Danish, ice cream and keesh. This place is a must if your in Beaufort SC.

Had ic d coffee, and a breakfast biscuit. All good, ate outside to enjoy view of river and people watch.

Coffees may be great, but the biscuits are the worst crumbling, dry mess I have ever had the misfortune to waste money on. If it weren't for the free breakfast voucher, I would have demanded my money back. Don't order biscuits there! Will never return!

Common Ground Market Place Cafe and Coffehouse in Beaufort is a great place to get a great cup of coffee, some desserts, baked goods, or even some really good gelato. The location is very convenient in the middle of Beaufort and is walking distance to just about anywhere, but is very close to the waterfront park and is only steps away to take an item like the gelato to the park after you order. I like the way the store is organized and layed out as there is multiple entrances and exits and all of the items are displayed very nicely to entice. The staff here is very helpful and patient when you are ordering and not able to choose right away because there are so many good things to choose from. Overall this is an awesome place that I look forward to returning to soon.

Look forward to stopping in for a frozen coffee with whipped cream every year when we come to Beaufort. We try to see how many times we can get in during the week. I love the quaint coffee shop with beautiful views of the water. It's the best!

Gelato was a hit, cannolis were perfect, and the honey cake was AWESOME. The gentleman working the counter this afternoon was so personable, even when the line started backing up. We come here every time we visit Beaufort and I have never been disappointed.

I was visiting the area for the weekend and found this place. I ordered a simple latte, and it was wonderful. Cute atmosphere and great location!

It's great coffee. Cozy environment. The best part is the open mic performances on Friday nights. Great place to sit and watch the boats go by while enjoying a nice cup of coffee.

My mocha was a perfect blend of espresso and chocolate flavors! It would be my go-to place if I lived here.

This is a coffee house that also serves gelato. This review is for the gelato only. The portions are very small and overpriced. The taste was nothing special. In fact, much of the promoted gelato was actually sorbet. The facility and business is very pleasant and the staff was friendly and helpful. Everything else may have been good but don't go there just for the gelato.

The iced coffee and the strawberry cream smoothie were both very good, however the service was a bit lacking. The associates were a bit short with us, and not very pleasant.

Very poor service, WAY over priced, obvious tourist trap! our server at the main counter made us feel like we were bothering him by placing an order! We were there Saturday lunchtime and they had already run out of various food items. We waited over 20 mins for our order which was nothing complicated. We are local to Bluffton and won't be going back - lots of more deserving establishments to frequent instead!

Common Ground is the only sit down coffee shop/study spot in downtown Beaufort and it struggles to balance the pedestrian crowd with those looking for refuge. The sandwiches, gelato, and coffee bar all crammed into a tight space can be overwhelming. Overall, Common Ground seems not to know its identity.

Have visited twice and both were reasonably good experiences. Charming little shop. I haven't been here enough to get a great feel for the place, but I was a little surprised the second time back on Veterans Day weekend 2019. We were there on a Saturday morning around 10am and the line was 25 deep. This is great for business, but there were only 2 people working the entire operation - they were both doing point of sale, making special coffee drinks, retrieving food from the kitchen, heating food, etc. So, yes it's great to have that much demand, but I want to believe that at least 2 people called in sick that morning and the other 2 were left to fend off the masses. They gave it their all but it really wasn't enough.

All-in-all, great location on the river, good coffee and tea, nice interior, good food and small bites. They are really the only coffee game on Bay Street, so if you want something like this, there is nowhere else to go.

Note to owner: make sure you have backup employees to avoid 20+ minute waits for coffee.

Amazing coffee flavors and comfortable atmosphere, love sitting outside where you can look at the beautiful view of the water and boats. Can't wait to go back again.

Good gelato, nice variety of other stuff available. I got a latte also, which was tasty. Kinda pricey, but in a nice location for taking a walk/eating by the water.

Excellent sandwiches! I ordered chicken sandwich and it was absolutely yummy. Very much recommend this place for lunches.

Great spot for a small bite and some ice cream! Comfortable seating inside and outside with views of the water and beautiful park. They have several great flavors to sample, and also split a tomato mozzarella panini.

Great little spot right on the water, everyone was more than friendly. The scone was scrummy. I highly recommend.

Live performances are getting better. Food is great for Beaufort. Definitely a konsistent scene.

If your looking for gelatto, this is your place. It was amazing. Can't go wrong with tbe coffee either, La Columbe. Some of the best coffee on the planet.
