Cannot believe what I am reading about the I EAT ASS arrest. Bravo to the citizen for standing up for his first ammemdment rights. Public officials are supposed to uphold the constitution, not violate it!
Hey Tanya Thompson, perhaps you're confused, but this isn't a messaging forum. This is where you write reviews. I understand your confusion considering all the review summary mumbo jumbo, the "rate and review" options, etc. It can really be a lot to take in on your first visit to Google.
And now, here is my review- This place is a joke. They arrest people for "obscene" material aka bumper stickers with "bad words". On a more cheerful note, I am happy to learn that Lake City is completely free of real crime! That's the only way one could possibly justify pulling a citizen over for such nonsense, let alone arresting them for it.
Alex Love, Perhaps you should contact the agency that handles traffic violations on County Road 242? Call The Florida Highway Patrol. The Columbia County Sheriff's Office will handle traffic violators however, they're responsible for handling a multitude of crimes (robbery, murder, burglaries, vandalism, domestic violence, child molestation etc.) as their primary objective. The Florida Highway Patrol's primary responsibly is traffic offenders. So call the correct agency for the results you are looking for..... don't hate on an agency when it is you that made the mistake and called the wrong one. The Men and Women in Green, Blue and Black and Tan all work tirelessly and sacrifice much to serve their communities. SHOW a little respect please as you rest easier at night because of them.
P.S. They also pay taxes.

Hey Sheriff Hunter. How is not just this cop, Travis English, still on the force, but even worse the sergeant still working for us? YOU WORK FOR US! Remember that. When you guys need help from us, who outnumber you idiots thousands to one, don't be surprised when we just pull out our phones and yell "WorldStar" instead of helping any of these tyrants out.
Sheriff Hunter, you of all people, retired military, should be speaking the loudest. Don't any of you guys remember your oath? Or is that just a useless piece of paper to you guys? If it's a useless piece of paper, let us freedom loving Americans know so we can fix the problem here. Either by voting you out, or us removing the tyrants who used to work for us. This is embarrassing for all law enforcement across this great nation.
I ve called the sheriffs office on multiple occasions to report speeding off my road (242) and I still have yet to ever see a sherrif down here. Semi trucks go about 65 every morning, people pass over a solid line, there is zero control over traffic out here. It s really sad to see as a home owner and tax payer, that our town isn t being patrolled.
Great department! Always very friendly. Thank you for arresting the guy with the profane bumper sticker. Now parents Who might be sitting behind him in traffic won t have to explain to there kids what that means. And to the people who complain about first amendment rights. Seems like it s still there since you all left comments that weren t taken down. Should probably be more upset with the guy abusing his first amendment rights. It s people like him that gets rights taken away from everyone. Freedom does not equal anarchy.

I wonder how many of their Officers are now looking to arrest his guy for anything they can get away with? or maybe if they stop him again they shoot him and say they felt threatened? or he was reaching for something? or I thought he had a gun?

Back seat of the patrol suv could be a little more comfortable. They like to cuff a little tight but i've had worse. Would have given 3 stars but they failed to leave the a/c on while they stood outside the hot car for 30 minutes with their Sargent figuring out how they would falsify the report on me.
