Very modern university, with underground passage and new gym/dormitory building. Close to the center of downtown.

Good school that offers the opportunity to make enriching internships

I used to think ETS was a good school for engineering studies, even though I have chosen McGill Engineering over ETS for McGill's global reputation. I wished to take a computer programming course (belonging to its general education sector) at ETS during the sumer holidays in 2019 to improve my computer skills. I was ready to pay!!

However, I didn't expect that they were so bureaucratic!! Incompetent staff kept pushing me to other devisions and a lady kept asking me how I had found her office phone number. (Apparently she just wanted to sit there all day and receive her undeserved salary automatically.) They are so lazy and they were not willing to help!! The school gave me wrong information, which was contradictory to their official website. I am very disappointed at ETS because they are very bureaucratic. I think I have definitely made the correct decision of choosing McGill. By talking to people from these two schools, I can easily tell the difference. Don't believe the propaganda of ETS. The best engineers have solid fondation in theory. If you are good at theory, practice is what you can easily learn on the job, once you give yourself a few months time.

What I find unfortunate is that L ETS have removed Saturday classes: /

Reasons for ets being above average:

1)We learn assembly, not the most helpful of programming languages but it s definitely a language.

2) We have security guards on segways so you know it s safe.

3) With almost 10% of our students being of the female persuasion we can say that our diversity is of utmost importance.

4) We are all technically technicians, however some of us still have no idea what we are doing here.

5) if you do decide to come here please be aware that all exams are in French with absolutely no way of having them in English. Recruiters love to trick us English folk.

6) we have a pub; it s food is mediocre but it serves alcoholic beverages which can help you get through some of the more exciting classes.

7) the clubs are great even when they trap you in with a minimum requirement of 10-40 hours a week of involvement.

8) the cafeteria here has coffee though it tastes like dirty dishwasher at times.

9) it s the university I chose so I guess that counts for something.

10) Teachers are so much more involved than at Concordia. The classes are capped at ~40 students.

Excellent engineering school. Many of my friends have been there and all work in their field.

The best place to do a BAC in Electrical Engineering in Montreal! Many internships, lots of technical experience and a great student life! Student clubs are essential!

Beautiful school. A little behind the metro stations on the other hand.

ETS is the factory of engineers who seeks to make profit without worrying about the quality of the final product. It requires re-doing courses already done just to have more students (so more $) unlike other engineering schools they respect. The registrar service is very unpleasant and lacks a lot of professionalism. I highly discourage a student who is concerned about a good engineering background from following her. It remains my personal point of view.

Ideal for hungry student clubs. There is a very impressive catalog of projects under development.

Nice establishment, however a certain lady of security proved very aggressive towards visitors, not very convenient and very frustrating ...

University that has everything to meet your expectations that is rather focused on the practical side of engineering. The human side is highly favored. Come and have a look at the exceptional student clubs!

Just another place to make some cash. Half of the teachers are not very available or only there for their pay. The course registration system is not worth ***** and the administration does not care that we are not able to take the courses that we want to do. Premises for studying / working are scarce. I'm glad I finished ...

Submitted an application and got accepted the same day, I did not enroll though. Regardless, their advisors are excellent!

I attended a briefing yesterday on February 9 at the ETS and it was magical for me as it was my first time
I am interested in training Genius of occupational health and safety risks if someone has an idea ??

I taught a language course there in 2011. It was like a funny farm with people shouting out questions and getting impatient when asked to wait their turn.

One of the third class university in Canada. Please do not take admission at any cost. Professors are extremely biased they want to destroy your career just for the sake of their own ego. I request you all either go to McGill, Waterloo or anyother university, but not ETS.

Superb school! The facilities are beautiful and modern. All full of new expansion projects for the establishment. The teachers are mostly very involved and really attentive to the students. Best school of engineering without a doubt.

Great location for an engineering school apparently more oriented on technical learning.

For applied engineering that really considers the needs of the industry !!

it's more than a dream. a reference no doubt on a planetary scale.

All in all, a very good school

Strong points:
-Building almost new
-School near several service (metro / grocery / restaurant)
-Many student club
-The teachers are very competent
-stage paid

Weak points:
-No room to eat in the cafeteria
-The court selection system is obsolete
-Many construction near the school (noise / no parking)
-The school is like a labyrinth

Nothing to say a building fully equipped spaces like biblio gym ...

If you intend to do a bacc in 3 and a half, forget it you do not leave the front 5 years, we are 300 to want to register for a course of the course but just 120 places ... But they accept all the students and they want more ... I suggest nobody to go, I'm trying to finish my bacc, but there is never room in the courses. Too much stress, and that's just to get the desired schedule ...

This school is for technicians. If you want something serious go to Concordia University, Universite de Montreal, McGill or Polytechnique instead. Don't waste your time there.

Some programs are totally useless in real life.
Automated Manufacturing with only 2-3 courses of automation makes NO SENSE!!

Most of what you learned has been dumbed down so that technicians can pass the class.

They want to promote teamwork but the school is filled with single child. Single child are the worst teammate.

Engineering university. Focused on the practical side. Great place to learn hands-on.

Doing your schedule via Cheminot does not work well

Easily the best school to gain hands
-on experience since everything is aimed towards pratical. Great teachers, awesome pub. Only downside is there's no grills.

Perfect for those who are Poly streamers and looking for something easier

I love this school. On leaving, we are ready to work in the industry. A school for the engineers of tomorrow!

the best school of learning ... you go out to hire it!

To reach out to the industry with a lot of practical courses and a lot of internships, this is the place to be. The teaching is good but the pupil must put his own. It makes cohorts self-reliant, and engineering students have the edge when faced with real company situations.

Higher establishment training in Engineering located in downtown Montreal. The training provided is genuinely practice-oriented. The teachers are very qualified and easy to approach. The place to be ...

WORST university for those who are true R&D hardcore.

State-of-the-art school offering a wide variety of programs and very good training.

Registrar's Office never responds, extremely difficult to have information. Students and their education are the 8th priority of management. Their equals and the prestige of their school are the only things that matter. Computer equipment obsolete, forget to have your own computer. The sevices to the students are bad and the staff to the residence incompetent. School as much access to practice as any other school of engineering.

Good school, but the administration takes weird decisions.

Good lessons, good teachers.
But if you are coming here for an exchange, this is to be avoided. The atmosphere is moldy and the solidarity between the missing students. If you have already been taken, I hope you find a roommate where things are moving because you don't have to rely on this school to be dynamic.

If you wanna go for a master degree or a PHD, do yourself a favor and run away. Good for bachelor though.

It's a good school, but a lot of study fees that comes in addition to the $ 25 late fee you pay each time without notice and gym fees even if you do not use it, students can not find or studied for the preparations, the lighting at the restaurant department A is insufficient, in the evening the climate is at bottom the premises becomes too cold

Definitely one of the greatest engineering school in the province of Quebec. It's situated not far south from downtown Montreal. Good if you want a school more oriented on practice.
