Been in a few times and have tried a variety of the food and drinks on offer. Lovely place to while an afternoon. It's as authentic a Vietnamese Cafe without actually being in Vietnam itself. Staff are polite and friendly, service is pretty prompt and all the dishes and different coffees have been nice. I'd recommend it as a place to go either on your own to chill/do work or to take friends if you want to impress them or treat them.

Check it out for yourself I doubt you will be disappointed.

This is a great authentic feeling Vietnamese cafe ...

This is a great authentic feeling Vietnamese cafe / bar with a great ambience and high quality food and drinks. I ve eaten most things on the menu here and will continue to come back as each is delicious as the other with fresh flavours and produce.
The staff here are typically very friendly and helpful, and normally I d give a 5-star review. However I think the place could really benefit from offering table service as having to order food at one counter and then drinks at another - which can be on a different floor to which you re sitting - can be a bit annoying due to the disjointedness and requirement to doubly queue. On a number of occasions it has actually deterred us from staying on for further drinks, going instead to bars which offer table service. It s a great environment to be in, and would be happy to spend my money here than elsewhere, so would be great to see table service integrated into their systems sometime soon. Fingers crossed!

So thrilled to see a stylish authentic Vietnamese restaurant in Notts City Centre.
The food is so delicious, and the prices are very reasonable.
It s such a lovely place to dine in, pleased to have spent my birthday here.
FYI it is a cafe also that sells specialist tea, coffee and pastries. They have a short but sweet food menu for meals, and 2-4-1 cocktails Sun-Fri 6pm-8pm!
I had also visited House of Coco Tang before, where the entrance is on Bridlesmith Gate. The cafe is actually interconnected with the bar, where the decor is splendid also, and their cocktails are funky. I was delighted to have tried their Toblerone Cocktails, it s a bit too sweet since it s chocolate but very yummy :3

Cute little Southern Vietnamese fusion cafe with quite apparent Cantonese influence. Good coffee served in beautiful ceramic ware. Japanese cheese cake comes with a citrus glaze which is a nice twist. Will check out their food one day.

I went to a 'soft open' at this Vietnamese cafe/restaurant which is yet to open officially. The range was therefore limited, especially for us veggies, but it looks promising for the future. There is no table service; you have to order at the counter. Portion size was excellent. The highlight for me was the salad element. There is a good range of teas to choose from too. One of our vegetarian dishes did taste a bit dodgy, as if maybe some oil was used that had previously fried fish. The waiter didn't seem to recognise the dish names either and there was a mix-up. Hopefully such teething troubles can be ironed out and the cafe will become a Nottingham attraction for Vietnamese food.

Sadly they've stopped the great offer that consisted of a free croissant with your coffee of hot chocolate if you got there early as they now don't open until 11am. Still a lovely drink but not enough of a unique selling point to keep us going there when compared to the myriad of other coffee shops in Nottingham.

My experience of CocoTang Cafe was absolutely horr...

My experience of CocoTang Cafe was absolutely horrible.
Here is why.

It happened right after we sat down on the table in the second floor corner when my wife and I asked one of the staff a wifi password for my laptop. We came to this cafe to look at some work document that we had to review. The staff informed us that we are not allowed to use laptop on the weekend. We asked her why we shouldn t be using the laptop in the CAFE and the answer was because it ruins the vibe of the cafe while other people are eating. We did not understand how it can ruin the vibe when there were so many empty seats and we were not interrupting anyone by anyhow. Since it was not too busy in the second floor and we saw a lot of empty tables plus already had ordered/paid for our food and drinks, we politely asked the employee if it was ok this time to use laptop, and she said Yes since it wasn t so busy.

About 30 mins later, another staff came and informed that we are not allowed to use laptop so we asked to speak with a manager to discuss what issues we are having. Manager stated that this is their company policy and they can t let us use a laptop and also because we were taking their spaces. Plus, the manager accused us for lying on a review that my wife posted on their facebook page. The manager came to us without knowing which waitress served us nor what situation we had. After we explained what happened, the manager continuously telling us that is their policy not to use laptops on the weekend. Manager s attitude was absolutely unprofessional and had no interest in understanding or listening to our concerns. We totally understood and respected the cafe s policy but there wasn t a clear sign and statement before we enter the cafe or at the front registration. In addition, We weren t aware of their policy about the laptop restriction and we weren t able to notice any of signs showing before we paid. As a customer, we should not have to search their website to search about laptop usage in the cafe nor have to ask employees if we can use a laptop in the cafe before we order. If we knew or have informed about the policy before we purchased our food and drinks, we would went to a different cafe. Zero consideration of customers. The manager had no problem of refunding the money, but had absolutely no aware of customers point of view and solely refunding money doesn t just solve the problem.

About an hour later we left, my wife post has been deleted from their facebook page. It seems very clear that they control their facebook page just to show only good reviews.

Visiting from the U.S. to spend time with my wife s family for the holiday, my wife really wanted to show me her favorite cafe in her town she told me about over a year. This terrible experience made absolute disappointment on her and this ignorant manager ended up losing loyal customer who continuously visited this cafe since it was opened and my wife will never recommend anyone to go to this cafe if you want to be treated poorly and made to feel like you re in the wrong for not knowing you can t use a laptop in a CAFE then go here, otherwise I wouldn t recommend it. Customer service was absolutely horrible and they never apologized for their horrible services.

CLEAR SIGN and CLEAR NOTIFICATION on both actual cafe and their facebook page are needed in order to avoid any future incidents like this.

I'd been meaning to visit for ages and ages as I heard very good things about their Vietnamese food.

I was not disappointed at all. Great salads, Pho and spring rolls. Definitely a must try and must return again cafe.

Next trip I need to try the highly rated coffees and cakes.

Sorry for the blurry pics. The food looks so much better than my photo.

Had a delicious lunch here last week. Service was efficient and we were very kindly treated to a complimentary pandan cake, after I reminisced about enjoying this yummy cake during my childhood - thank you for the lovely and kind gesture

Popular but strangely confusing and the food is truly bland; not really for you if you want genuine Vietnamese cuisine. I had the Pho; tasteless beef and underwhelming soup broth. My son had a spring roll salad- not much better.
