Strange place and quite expensive. Only for special occasions
Really great atmosphere here - staff are dead nice and helpful. Didn t get a chance to eat this time but the food looked great.
Beautiful venue with incredible food and some of the best coffee in Nottingham
Great for cocktails, great smoking area upstairs and it links to Coco Tang
Nice Atmosphere. Food was tasty (papaya salad ) and staff super friendly. Vietnamese coffees worth the visit
First time I've been in. Just had coffee and cake. Excellent. Staff really friendly and pleasant. Food going to other tables looked and smelled great. May have to go back for a proper meal
3 years since we were in Vietnam but this place brought all those good memories back. Food was spot on too!
Interesting place to visit.it have very good ambience and lots of small little places inside cafe to chill. They serve hot Vietnamese food as well
Tasty Vietnamese food, some enjoyable cocktails, cool atmosphere and friendly staff. Will definitely return!
Best Vietnamese in Nottingham so far but definitely not 100% authentic and some dishes overpriced
Been in a few times and have tried a variety of the food and drinks on offer. Lovely place to while an afternoon. It's as authentic a Vietnamese Cafe without actually being in Vietnam itself. Staff are polite and friendly, service is pretty prompt and all the dishes and different coffees have been nice. I'd recommend it as a place to go either on your own to chill/do work or to take friends if you want to impress them or treat them.
Check it out for yourself I doubt you will be disappointed.
That would be a 5 for the cake and 1 for pineapple fried rice. It was tasteless and lacking the pineapples.
Loved it here! Quirky, great coffee, food was fantastic and great value for money. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go again!
Lovely, hidden little coffee. Amazing food and drink selection for decent prices
Great atmosphere, great coffee and even better profiteroles
Small menu doesn't overwhelm you and great atmosphere
Loved this place. Oriental vintage deco with a Vietnamese twist, unexpectedly good food. Service is ok. One of a few picks in town.
This is a great authentic feeling Vietnamese cafe / bar with a great ambience and high quality food and drinks. I ve eaten most things on the menu here and will continue to come back as each is delicious as the other with fresh flavours and produce.
The staff here are typically very friendly and helpful, and normally I d give a 5-star review. However I think the place could really benefit from offering table service as having to order food at one counter and then drinks at another - which can be on a different floor to which you re sitting - can be a bit annoying due to the disjointedness and requirement to doubly queue. On a number of occasions it has actually deterred us from staying on for further drinks, going instead to bars which offer table service. It s a great environment to be in, and would be happy to spend my money here than elsewhere, so would be great to see table service integrated into their systems sometime soon. Fingers crossed!
Fantastic place, loved the deco, great vibe. Will be back to try some Vietnamese food- looked delicious
So thrilled to see a stylish authentic Vietnamese restaurant in Notts City Centre.
The food is so delicious, and the prices are very reasonable.
It s such a lovely place to dine in, pleased to have spent my birthday here.
FYI it is a cafe also that sells specialist tea, coffee and pastries. They have a short but sweet food menu for meals, and 2-4-1 cocktails Sun-Fri 6pm-8pm!
I had also visited House of Coco Tang before, where the entrance is on Bridlesmith Gate. The cafe is actually interconnected with the bar, where the decor is splendid also, and their cocktails are funky. I was delighted to have tried their Toblerone Cocktails, it s a bit too sweet since it s chocolate but very yummy :3
Cute little Southern Vietnamese fusion cafe with quite apparent Cantonese influence. Good coffee served in beautiful ceramic ware. Japanese cheese cake comes with a citrus glaze which is a nice twist. Will check out their food one day.
I went to a 'soft open' at this Vietnamese cafe/restaurant which is yet to open officially. The range was therefore limited, especially for us veggies, but it looks promising for the future. There is no table service; you have to order at the counter. Portion size was excellent. The highlight for me was the salad element. There is a good range of teas to choose from too. One of our vegetarian dishes did taste a bit dodgy, as if maybe some oil was used that had previously fried fish. The waiter didn't seem to recognise the dish names either and there was a mix-up. Hopefully such teething troubles can be ironed out and the cafe will become a Nottingham attraction for Vietnamese food.
Cosy atmosphere, delicious vietnamese food, friendly personnel, great drinks and cocktails. It doesn't really get much better than this. Highly recommended
Great place for coffee, cocktails and/or food. Each floor is unique and the staff are friendly and always very welcoming
Nice food and drinks. Enjoy hot tea and cakes there.
Food is lovely. Other than that nothing nice about this place especially when manager is being rude...
Wine price is above everything for the product that has been served...
Don t think will be coming ever again...
The best coffee shop in town! The coffee is really good and the cakes are absolutely delicious!
Good fresh Asian style food. Great coffee and freshly made juice. Really nice terrace to enjoy the sun in.
I love this place mainly because the food is amazing, can't wait to eat there again
Brilliant! Excellent coffe, drinks and food. Staff are exceptional and its very stylish inside. Dont go at night, to be honest. But of an afternoon I like it a lot.
Generally good for lunch time food.
Enjoyed the atmosphere and bbq spare ribs. Good and friendly service.
great little place we love it I recommend this to anybody
Never eaten here before, lovely tasty food , great setting and pleasant staff. Definitely going again.
Tasty food, lovely staff, nice setting. The bar b q chicken and the vegetable spring rolls were particularly delicious
First visit, LOVED my Regina George cocktail. Great decor, great atmosphere. I will be back.
Second time I've come here didn't disappoint food great good service
Excellent food and surroundings. We were really impressed with the quality of the food.
Amazing food, gorgeous decor, perfect service. Love it. Could eat here every day.
beautiful decoration which takes you to another world, a sophisticated services, staff are more than wonderful
Great food, service is fine and the layout on two floors is gorgeous. Well worth a visit.
Sadly they've stopped the great offer that consisted of a free croissant with your coffee of hot chocolate if you got there early as they now don't open until 11am. Still a lovely drink but not enough of a unique selling point to keep us going there when compared to the myriad of other coffee shops in Nottingham.
The food is excellent, the look and feel is fantastic and the Vietnamese coffee is to die for. Would highly recommend.
Nice Bar/Coffee shop in Vietnamese style!! Highly recommended the hot chocolate selection and the food!! Very very nice!!
Such a cute place, the food and drinks were amazing!
Awesome place, I have eaten here twice with my family, both times the food and service has been superb, highly recommended!
As a Vietnamese i found the Vietnamese kitchen here is one of the best Vietnamese food i have found in UK, come with a very Vietnamese interior design, and the service is great too! Speciality freshly made coffee!
Great coffee. Great pho. So good to find this place! Chilled place to work for a few hours over a coffee
Great cocktails and delicious food. One of the best places I've been to.
Tasty food, quick and fresh. Queue for the bar was a bit painful but the cocktails were worth the wait.
I always enjoy in this place. Food is delicious- coctails and coffee taste so good but also staff is always helpful and kind. After all, how not to be a reqular costumer?
Bamboo sharing basket HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Went here for food with friends and it was awesome. Food was fresh and tasty and service was great. Can t get out of my head how good their iced coffee with condensed milk it too, there s not been many days where I haven t thought about it lol. If you don t know, get to know.
Not 100% authentic but very close and very tasty. Even my fuzzy children loved the food!!
My experience of CocoTang Cafe was absolutely horrible.
Here is why.
It happened right after we sat down on the table in the second floor corner when my wife and I asked one of the staff a wifi password for my laptop. We came to this cafe to look at some work document that we had to review. The staff informed us that we are not allowed to use laptop on the weekend. We asked her why we shouldn t be using the laptop in the CAFE and the answer was because it ruins the vibe of the cafe while other people are eating. We did not understand how it can ruin the vibe when there were so many empty seats and we were not interrupting anyone by anyhow. Since it was not too busy in the second floor and we saw a lot of empty tables plus already had ordered/paid for our food and drinks, we politely asked the employee if it was ok this time to use laptop, and she said Yes since it wasn t so busy.
About 30 mins later, another staff came and informed that we are not allowed to use laptop so we asked to speak with a manager to discuss what issues we are having. Manager stated that this is their company policy and they can t let us use a laptop and also because we were taking their spaces. Plus, the manager accused us for lying on a review that my wife posted on their facebook page. The manager came to us without knowing which waitress served us nor what situation we had. After we explained what happened, the manager continuously telling us that is their policy not to use laptops on the weekend. Manager s attitude was absolutely unprofessional and had no interest in understanding or listening to our concerns. We totally understood and respected the cafe s policy but there wasn t a clear sign and statement before we enter the cafe or at the front registration. In addition, We weren t aware of their policy about the laptop restriction and we weren t able to notice any of signs showing before we paid. As a customer, we should not have to search their website to search about laptop usage in the cafe nor have to ask employees if we can use a laptop in the cafe before we order. If we knew or have informed about the policy before we purchased our food and drinks, we would went to a different cafe. Zero consideration of customers. The manager had no problem of refunding the money, but had absolutely no aware of customers point of view and solely refunding money doesn t just solve the problem.
About an hour later we left, my wife post has been deleted from their facebook page. It seems very clear that they control their facebook page just to show only good reviews.
Visiting from the U.S. to spend time with my wife s family for the holiday, my wife really wanted to show me her favorite cafe in her town she told me about over a year. This terrible experience made absolute disappointment on her and this ignorant manager ended up losing loyal customer who continuously visited this cafe since it was opened and my wife will never recommend anyone to go to this cafe if you want to be treated poorly and made to feel like you re in the wrong for not knowing you can t use a laptop in a CAFE then go here, otherwise I wouldn t recommend it. Customer service was absolutely horrible and they never apologized for their horrible services.
CLEAR SIGN and CLEAR NOTIFICATION on both actual cafe and their facebook page are needed in order to avoid any future incidents like this.
I'd been meaning to visit for ages and ages as I heard very good things about their Vietnamese food.
I was not disappointed at all. Great salads, Pho and spring rolls. Definitely a must try and must return again cafe.
Next trip I need to try the highly rated coffees and cakes.
Sorry for the blurry pics. The food looks so much better than my photo.
Amazing atmosphere as well as food and their famous Taiwanese iced coffee. One of the best spots in Nottingham.
Delicious cocktails, nice and fast service, cosy and tidy place.
It is a hidden gem in the city. The place and the atmosphere is so cool. They have incorporated plants which makes it into a vibrant earthy feel. Staff wise they are friendly.
Had a delicious lunch here last week. Service was efficient and we were very kindly treated to a complimentary pandan cake, after I reminisced about enjoying this yummy cake during my childhood - thank you for the lovely and kind gesture
Very good service and excellent quality food! The best cakes in Nottingham.
Went in for morning coffee, fantastic setting really nice inside. Sat in the rooftop garden and got a free croissant with coffee.
Popular but strangely confusing and the food is truly bland; not really for you if you want genuine Vietnamese cuisine. I had the Pho; tasteless beef and underwhelming soup broth. My son had a spring roll salad- not much better.
Service was excellent. Food nice .love it going back .sooooooo nice
The food here is always perfect and the service is incredible.
I really recommend this place to have a drink and eat
