Long overdue recommendation and appreciation for Coby Philips who I have used for over 5 years now and I love them.
They have always gone above and beyond for me and I owe so much to Natasha and Ian for the amazing career opportunities I've had because of them.
I keep in regular contact with them and they do the same with me.
I use to recommend using a few agencies but stopped having to do that years ago because they never fail where other agencies have.
Its sad to see some of the negative feedback as I just can't relate to it or thinks it's fair.
I think you have to be realistic in that simply registering doesn't guarantee a job and they are very transparent with what they can do for you, if it's not been employment then I've been given tips,advice,contacts and just general support.
I can't wait till I'm in a position where I can employ their services myself.

Had been unemployed for a few months due to sustaining a foot injury. Following my injury I applied for a role advertised by Coby Philips. I was contacted by Coby Philips and soon after received a permanent job. And to date I have had no complaints. The service is above average and I am happy in my new role. Thank you I appreciate where Coby has taken me.

I signed up with Coby Phillips just under a year ago. When I arrived at their office for the first time, I was welcomed by Ian and Natasha who made my feel very welcome and comfortable. They were and are both very efficient and are always in contact whether there is work available or not. I would definitely recommend Coby Phillips as a company to anyone. They have been great to date and cannot fault them at all! :-)

Great close knit team of Consultants. Ian in particular has been extremely helpful with feedback and communication to both myself as a temp and to the Client. I've been lucky enough to experience some interesting roles with some fabulous companies.

With Recruitment being such a competitive industry with a trillion agencies - this is definitely one to register with. Highly disagree with the negative comments on here. They obviously want to assign the best person for the roles - maybe a few people take rejection to personally? Very brutal in London with the roles vs candidates ratio being so big (more candidates than roles).

Note: I originally gave them 4 **** as it's an honest review - however I've just bumped them to 5***** as they've bothered to dig out my number and call to thank me. Something of a rarity in this busy world.

I have temped with this company for almost 4 years now. Ian Barry specifically is the best recruiter you could meet. He genuinely cares and works harder than anyone I know. I am in a temp position for the last year (guaranteed 2 days every week) which is absolutely perfect for me as an actor. Also if I ever want to take up any extra work he is always trying to help me out. I know clients love him as much as the employees do. Highly, highly recommend!

It's an excellent Agency that cares for their Temporary employers.
Each recruitment staffs are good listeners and very caring.

Agree with various other reviews, a complete waste of time and a horrific rude completely gross manners. Also agree with below posts that Ian is very lovely which is nice but can't really make up for the unapologetically crazy banshee that I was dealing with. Housemate was sat next to me who is very successful in the recruitment industry and she couldn't believe what she was hearing, yes it was that loud shrill and aggressive that she was heard without speakphone. She got into that state on the misapprehension that I would apply to a client directly however, clearly I wouldn't ask her permission to go behind her back and was in fact asking her if she could forward me for a similar role I've seen in a different department of the same company. I was advised that I don't want someone like that representing me and I now pass the information on to anyone else in a similar position. Working with recruiters is a risk and I'm working with a handful of others who are really professional and transparent but there are definitely some out there who have no idea what you can do or what your industry is about and really aren't interested in anything other than a fee and will play a numbers game to get it. I can't believe people like that recruit for high calibre positions, its astounding and quite shocking.

An excellent agency. Ian has kept in contact with me throughout lockdown to let me know how the market is going and to keep me in the loop. Natasha is wonderful also and has just secured me my first Zoom interview. This agency is the best out there. Well done Ian and Natasha. Superb.

I've worked with a number of recruiters and agencies before and I can say none put their candidates as a priority like Corby Philips does. The company work with some great clients and provide a very good service. The staff have real pride in their work particularly Ian Barry who works with complete conviction and enthusiasm in everything he does. I've never worked with someone who is as pleasant to collaborate with. I hope to have a continued professional relationship with Ian and Corby Philips in the future.

I've temped for Coby Philips off and on between jobs in the performance industry for the best part of ten years now. Coby Philips have always found me the best calibre of work available and in particular, Ian Barry has been particularly understanding of my situation as a performer in need of temporary employment. He is one of the most sincerely positive and lovely people I've had the pleasure of working with. He is efficient and friendly and kind and prides himself on the contentment of his clients and the welfare of his staff. He strives for excellence and makes it easy to deliver. He is a gem and I can't recommend him highly enough to anyone either seeking employment or employees.

Ian Barry was the best recruiter I met during my job search. He called often and always updated me immediately whenever something happened. He got me several temp roles that kept me going until I found my current permanent role. I highly recommend going to him for temp roles. He's kind and lovely and knows what he's doing :)

Another waste of time.

Applied for a role with them, they invited me in to register but didn't even talk about the role I applied for. When I touched on salary, the consultant who interviewed me seemed inexperienced and had to consult with 2 of her colleagues in front of me because they seemed astonished I was asking for a salary which was in fact advertised in the role I initially applied for.

Also you're in this open plan office trying to answer their questions but you have all these women either chattering away loudly or listening in and they put you on the spot asking salary questions which is a bit off putting. Weird how they can't even book a meeting room or sit you down at one of the tables outside especially when a candidate might need to discuss confidential details- who knows how they operate..

One of the consultants who came out of the blue confirmed she'd send me a job spec for a role she was working on...never did, can't say I'm surprised, could tell some of them were your run of the mill phoney recruitment agents.

All in all - don't get your hopes up with this one.

quick to contact you for work after you apply. I've had regular work for the past 4 months and weekly pay which is a bonus.
Agency staff are friendly and keep in contact.

A really bad agency full of rude people looking down at you. I wasted my time going to the office to register and to complete several tests (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and typing speed). They didn't bother to email me the results.
A complete waste of the time as the client they work with was a dodgy FX company based in Cyprus. I had to discuss all my personal details in front of the whole team as they don't seem to have a private room. Many months later they called me for another job I didn't apply for. The lady was so pushy over the phone asking me "what sort of job are you looking for". She didn't bother to read my CV so if she had done so she should know whether I'm suitable or not as I'm actively looking. She seemed only worried in her targets so I ended the call. Never heard anything from them either, after 2 years of registration with them. Just had an extremely rude consultant over the phone a moment ago. They require high calibre candidates but its not replicated through the staff they employ as a good example. Unfortunately other agencies treat their candidates much better.

A fabulous agency! I have registered with several agencies over the years and have to admit I felt they had previously been a waste of time and effort. This was definitely a different experience altogether, usually I'm ushered into an 'Interview Room' where I'm asked to fill a wedge of forms out then after 20 minutes or so a recruiter would come in ask a few questions and I'd never hear from them again. With Coby Philips I felt the registration was a lot more personal and felt the recruiter listened to what I wanted, I was introduced to everyone within the team and everyone was really helpful. I have had a couple of interviews for permanent roles and done a temp role for them also. I appreciate their advice and help so far...

Waste of time/ Money coming in to register they never have any roles

I have secured two fruitful temporary roles with them and have now found an amazing permanent role where I see myself developing personally and professionally and so thankful they were able to bring me to a role, right for me. They really are an amazing team with a special thanks to Jemma Swann.

After the shock of being made redundant after a very long time in the same job, I started the process of contacting recruitment agencies and despairing of ever again seeing the inside of an office work-wise. Coby Philips contacted me after I applied online for a job through them and invited me in to register with them, which I did. Well when I came out of their offices, it was the first time in a long long while that I actually felt positive and hopeful, a huge difference in my outlook on job prospects. I attribute this to The Man, Ian Barry himself, who is, as I told him even, in the right job. He is there to listen to you and advise you and I think he "gets" you, understanding who you are as a person and trying to find you work. While still looking for a permanent position, I have now been temping with Coby Philips for three weeks, practically immediately after signing with them.
