Many of the better wineries in Tasmania also have excellent restaurants and this is definitely one of them. In February, we brought my wheelchair-bound sister here to celebrate her birthday and we could not have chosen a better place. We were a party of 5 and we were given a table in the window with fantastic views.
The meal was excellent and the wine well served. The service was friendly and efficient. We started with a plate of olives and some smoked nuts. This was followed by a variety of main dishes, all of which were delicious and we finished off with dessert and coffee. We tried a couple of bottles of wine (the Cabernet Merlot and the Sauvignon Blanc) both of which were excellent. The toilets were spotless and access was easy for the wheelchair. All in all an excellent day out and though not cheap (I think it cost around $60 per head including extras and a tip), I felt it was excellent value.
