I m a frequent customer and have had only positive experiences as a customer. Unfortunately, today I tried to inquire about taking some items there as a vendor and it was a totally different experience. Allison, the co-owner, must not realize that her customers and vendors are most likely one in the same. I had my daughter call while we were in the car since I was driving in rain on the interstate. When my daughter asked what items they are taking, the lady who answered told her she would refresh her memory and then when she asked about what seasons they were taking, the worker told her I was getting to that. I didn t think her words to someone trying to support her business were very respectful, so I called right back to talk to the manager. The co-owner told me she heard the worker s side of the conversation and she thought my daughter was the disrespectful one. I heard the whole conversation and have NO IDEA where that came from. I heard her and she simply asked the questions I had told her to ask. Allison told me they talk like that to everyone and that no other person had ever complained about it. So I told her maybe she should listen to the feedback from the one that it did offend. She also told me that she was speaking to me as a vendor and didn t realize we were customers during the initial call. Then she ended the call by basically telling me she was fine with me not shopping there anymore. All because we called and asked what items to bring in and weren t ok with being talked down to. Terrible customer service and management skills if you don t know that your vendor and customer base are often the same. I feel bad for the other owner if this is the norm for how Allison treats anyone dealing with their business. I am not a huge spender, but I was still a customer who regularly supported the store and referred many people there. I can t say that I will be able to do that anymore, which upsets me since I enjoyed going 2-3 times a month. I am glad to know they are individually owned since I like other stores I have been in and want to continue to shop in them. Nothing may come from this review right away, but the owners need to know that the way they treat customers and/or vendors and what they do with feedback from people who support the business will either make or break the business in the long run. No one likes to be treated as if they don t matter or are a nuisance.
