I left this practice because Dr. Ortiz failed to provide the appropriate exams for severe back pain. The neglect of which lead to multiple procedures and surgeries. Not only that but he failed to inform me of specific lab test results. DO NOT USE THIS PRACTICE!

Wonderful caring empathetic Doctors and staff. Every visit has been a reassuring experience. We have nothing but appreciation and praise for the care we have received. We have been patients for 20+ years. The comprehensive and diagnostic excellence of the Doctors has been life saving for us many times. We would not consider trusting our health and well-being to any other medical practice.

I am very happy with Dr. McDonald as my general practitioner--great bedside manners--hes always cheerful and courteous; has been very generous with his time during visits and has tried to get to know me as a person (rather than a numbered patient); he always seems happy to field my random questions I get from trying to diagnose myself from webMD (I would hate that if I were a DR.! haha) Pretty outstanding service, big shout out to his nurse, whom has been extremely helpful in her advice also. A+ for that team!

I love seeing Dr. Bollinger. She is kind and caring and always listens to my concerns and questions.
However, the wait time at the office is never less than 45 minutes if you go in the afternoon -- I have waited up to 2 hours before. I have had better experience with seeing the doctor in a timely manner when making early appointments

Wouldn't recommend Dr.Bollinger AT ALL. Looking for a new doctor soon! When needing a prescription slip from her she goes way over the due date for my prescription from the original date it needs to be filled I have gone a couple days every month without using my medicine because of her laziness with signing prescriptions. Terrible.

I've been putting off doing this but it's time to get it done. Originally this family practice was good, and my experiences there were positive. I only go to the doctor when I really need to and generally put it off until it gets to that point. But things have steadily degraded over time and I can no longer recommend it. My last two visits were pretty bad, to be honest. I went in primarily to get a referral to a dermatologist a couple of weeks ago but was also starting to experience another lapse with my back (that has since become far worse than when I visited the office). The place was overfilled as has typically been the case lately. The doctor came in, and I will quote what he said when he looked at the things I wanted to talk about "c'mon guys are you kidding me? I only have 15 minutes per patient." He was being serious. This was not jokey. I went in primarily to get a referral for a dermatologist and was told they would call me in a few days with a name. No call back. Just ... nothing. The time before last I went in for blood work which came back flagged for something so I went back to have it re-drawn. Was told they would call in a few days with the results. Nothing. No call. I guess I must be healthy then? Who knows. On each of my visits for the past couple of years I have experienced very long wait times. The last one I was asked to come back an hour after my appointment. They have just become too busy and can no longer take time with their patients. Apparently they are too busy to actually take the time to treat them too. I've been a patient there for about ten years, but won't be returning.

If I could give this place zero Stars I would. I have been here twice over different years and both times had the same experience of waiting forever only to have the doctor come in and rush through the exam not even really looking at you or paying attention. The helper staff IE nurses and triage people were all really lovely and nice but I would never come back here and I'm sorry I wasted my time ever going. The doctor I saw had terrible bedside manner and suggested terrible advice. Leaving here I felt awful and if I had a challenge with depression, I could have easily spiraled. I really needed support after my experience there.

ALWAYS have to wait nearly 45 minutes to go to the waiting room for the doctor. Then, I have to wait another 30 minutes at least. This place has never been about the patients concerns. I have spoken up about this multiple times. I was told they overbook every day, in anticipation of people canceling. When no one cancels, I am forced to wait until 6:00-6:30 to see a doctor when my appointment was scheduled for 4:30.

My entire family goes to this group and has for many years. Yes, sometimes the wait is long but I know from working in a doctors office that this happens when the doctors take TIME with the patients which means their appointments often run past the "appointment time" on the books. Nature of the business. The staff is friendly and the physicians are good. Dr. Delaney and Dr. Meseyton are awesome with my kids.

I would give 0 stars if I could. I will be finding a new PCP after my most recent visit. No benefit in checking in online. Waited over 30 minutes to go back to the room then another 30 for the doctor. Then was rushed by nurse and Dr Tuton and spent less than 10 minutes in total with both of them. Had to practically beg for my own test results, then found out the wrong tests were ordered. Over a week later and still have NO ANSWERS. Several other issues occurred as well. I warn you to stay away from Clay Platte. They are rude, dismissive, and have no consideration for your time.

I have been going to see Dr. Ortiz for over twenty years. I can't picture myself going any where else. Sure sometimes the wait can be a little long that's because they make sure everyone is properly cared for and no is rushed out the door. And the staff some of the nicest people you will ever encounter.

Incredibly unprofessional people answering the phone! I called to make an appointment and was greeted by one of the rudest females I've ever had the displeasure to talk to. She sounded very inconvenienced, even arrogant, and she would not let me talk. Needless to say, no appointment was scheduled -- who hires these people?

Had a great experience with Dr Bollinger. Was able to get in for an appointment rather quickly, filled out new patient forms and was seen almost immediately. No waiting excessively like others have stated. She requested bloodwork and I completed it right then and there, had my results within a few days. Very happy with Clay Platte!

I strongly suggest finding a different clinic. In the 2 years I was a patient at Clay Platte I only saw my actual doctor for scheduled physicals. It is so hard to schedule day-of appointments and I ended up having to take the first available doctor, which makes the experience even less personable. This clinic over books and makes it hard to be seen. Even when I just needed a flu shot I waited 45 minutes longer than my appointment time. I do NOT suggest Clay Platte Family Medical.

Wait times are entirely too long and they seem to enjoy seeing how high they can make your bill before you leave. Went in for a routine visit with good insurance coverage and ended up with a 500 balance after insurance paid! Routine visits are free though my insurance so I have no clue how it got this high.

The service staff is professional and courteous. However my appointment with Dr Granger was totally unprofessional when I questioned him about why I was given a 8am appointment when his staff knew he was not coming into the office until 8:45. He acted as if I had no reason to question him about that and then decided he was not going treat me, then he threw my medical chart down the hall. For sure I won't ever be going back there again.

I'm rating this as high as an "It's okay" because ...

I'm rating this as high as an "It's okay" because IF you get into one of the GOOD Doctors or Practitioners then you might be seen in a decent amount of time. My husband and I have been at this doctors office since 2001. My husband has NEVER been seen in a decent amount of time (IE appointment is at 9 am and you don't get called into the office until near 10). I normally get in and out in and okay time frame (with in 30 mins of appointment).

My latest experience? I had a 3 pm appointment for a well visit. (one where you can eat or drink anything but water 8 hours before appointment) Got there and checked in around 2:20pm-ish. Asked them how it was looking appointment wise, and they said good. I'm visiting with a very pleasant person in the lobby... and time passes and time passes....3:50 rolls by, and I remind the desk personnel I'm still there, and remind them that I haven't had anything to eat or drink, and also ask if I can pee in a cup, because I "got to go." I do that and wait until right after 4, they call me into the office, weigh me, blood pressure, and temp. I remind that nurse, I haven't had anything to eat or drink all day (I had snacks with me). She says she will be back soon, and walks out of the room. Keep in mind, they still have to do whatever tests they need to do for a well visit... blood draws whatever.... I'm not sure what, because 15 mins later, right around 4:30 I walked out.

I had somewhere to be at 5:30 and I haven't had anything to eat yet...

I was required to change insurance so I sought out a new PCP. I went here for my annual physical which is a preventative care. I had Dr. Delaney, who was pleasant overall and took some time to talk about past issues and concerns.

My issue comes with the extremely long wait time. I didn't even see my doctor until about an hour and a half after the appointment time. Then I received a bill in the mail for $80 for standard preventative test and the visit. All preventative care is free under my plan. Apparently, talking about past medical history with a doctor is not standard physical process and entails an additional charge.

Finally when I called the billing department, I was blown off for 3 weeks. I called several times and even left a message for the business manager. I never heard back. I finally got through after 3 weeks and was able to get them to remove the doctor visit but I still had to pay $50 for "standard" preventative blood work and test. I'm sure this practice would bill you for breathing if they could.

There was a Caucasian PA assisting with bringing patients into the Covid19 Clinic, where I was redirected from my doctor app. I started with just a fever and diahrrea, but didnt have gas to keep idling my car outside waiting for a room. He confirmed my identity and I explained I was afraid it was Listeria, but then he accepted other people before me, and said he had an open room, but didnt invite/tell me to come to it. As a result, my fever was higher when they measured it and then my whole stomach region was tender. I worry he meddled with the lab results and my case and future cases because he is 1)trying to defend or cover for himself, 2)thinks it is a social and ego manipulation competition, 3)thinks Im like him. Actually, all my friends grew up to be doctors, attorneys, or NPs. I took calculus in high school, and Ive already had way to much life in my life, to want to do anything but focus on my desk job and my 2 puppies. Please keep him away from my medical cases. I dont even want to lay eyes on him. It is sad people gum up the medical system so quickly with their own personal stuff.

Went there due to being sick. Got a shot an some meds they said come back in 3 days if your not feeling better. Three days later I went back.
After doing this 7 times I gave up. They sent me to an ENT dr.
I'm still not sure why I was sick. Now I have a $700 bill and they have done nothing for me.
I made one payment of $100.00 and my account was credited $60.00?
This is not the first problem I've had.....a few months back I went in for abdominal pain and I was sent to two different drs who basically said" I don't know why you were sent here".
Never going back there again.

I love Dr Kafka. My husband and I followed him from his office at Creekwood. We are not happy with Clay Platt however. My husband had Lab work on 9/25/14 and we are yet to get a call with the results. We also find the office to be to big and impersonal. The halls are like a maze. My husbands last appt. took 2 1/2 hours. And he was in severe pain the whole time.

The docs are great. My family and I had been a patient there for more than 20 years. We ran into financial hardship. But kept the office abreast of our situation and paid when we could with what we could. The office staff put us on a black list and discharged us from the practice. They said that the trust had been broken. I don't understand how we broke the trust as we have been honest the whole time and they had seemed to want to work with us. Now we have to find new docs after 20 plus years. Stupid. Oh and the wait to get in is ridiculous. You come on time and wait 30 minutes or more. Then get into see the doc and wait and then the doc only has a few minutes. So it feels like he is in a rush. The personal touch is simply gone from this place. Sad

Dr. Scott Kuennen has cared for me for almost two ...

Dr. Scott Kuennen has cared for me for almost two decades now and I trust his skill, intelligence, and compassion for his patients completely. Every time we talk, he's done his homework and is prepared to discuss the specifics of my visit (be it for illness, annual checkups, etc). He always follows up on past concerns and asks probing questions to determine how I'm feeling. He knows my family history and checks carefully for indications of problems that have occurred in my dad and other relatives. He helps me with strategies on avoiding treatments I don't want (minimizing prescription meds including antibiotics) but encourages me to seek necessary treatment for conditions that require meds or specialist care. The office always calls me with lab results. The nurse practitioner will talk to me on the phone, same day, if I call in with an illness, and prescribe as necessary. Once I accidentally scheduled a physical within 1 calendar year of the prior physical, and their nurse proactively advised me to change the appointment so as not to run into trouble with the insurance company for having the physical too soon! Very helpful!

Yeah, there can be some waits, especially during epidemic times in Kansas City. But they are thorough, and I trust Dr. Kuennen with my most precious asset - my health - completely. To those 1-star reviewers out there: if your doctor didn't treat you well and you stayed sick or got worse in their care, then I get it... but if you rated 1 star because you had to wait an extra 30 minutes to see a 5-star doctor, you might want to consider rounding up a bit!

Well apparently I should have read the reviews before going here because others seem to have the same issues. I have great insurance (no co-pay for doc visits) and somehow I have a bill for $150. Then I realize they put a steroid injection on my bill that I definitely DID NOT receive and they are treating me like I'm lying! It's been at least 3 weeks and 4 phone messages and I just now got a message from their billing manager about my "overdue bill". I'm not paying for shots I never got and tests I never wanted! I went in for a sinus infection and got talked into a flu and strep test. This establishment is a joke and just goes to show that you need to be on guard even while listening to your doctor. Horrible experience.

I love this practice. Been going for 4 years. My only complaint is the wait time. This is the only physician's office I have had over 1 hour waiting times. I try to make sure I have nothing else planned afterwards.
I wish they realized people have other appointments-work schedules etc.
Maybe too many people are being scheduled? Everyone's time is valuable.
The atmosphere in this office is relaxed and comfortable. That is really appreciated.

Literally leaving this doctors office to get care ...

Literally leaving this doctors office to get care at the VA. You know they are awful if a veteran would rather go to a VA hospital to get care than to go to Platte Clay Family Medicine. Seriously this place has a lower rating than a Taco Bell. That should tell you how bad this doctor's office is.

Long waits and the service by the staff is lacking. Expect to wait at least 30 minutes after your appointment time and then another 30 minutes in the room before you see a care provider. Then if you are as lucky as I was the care provider will not listen to anything you say and change the medication another doctor prescribed to you without telling you. Then when you have some bad effects from the medication change they will force you to call three or four times before they actual even come close to helping you. The staff could care less about your health as long as you have an insurance card. If you want to be a nameless face in the crowd go here. If you actually expect some level of service when you are paying hundreds of dollars you should go somewhere else.

I just received a bill for test I didn't even ask for.

I started seeing Dr Kafka around the time the Dr. started his practice years ago. I've have not been very happy with my visits at Clay Platte, I know that the doctor is busy and I never feel like he is rushing me through. Dr Kafka takes the time and explains to me in language that I understand.
However, my last visit was timely I waited in the waiting room for about a hour before going into a room to see the Doctor. I was feeling like a truck ran over me, He call in some antibiotic to take 3 pills a day for 10 days on the 9th day I was still not over my sickness I called and left a message at 1:53 pm on Friday the 7 of November 2014 stating I was still sick and ask the Dr to call me in a stronger antibiotic, at 4:45 pm NO one called and yes I was upset I left a message, no one called on Saturday and now it Monday the 10th of November and I called about and left another message at 10:20 and at 11 am they finally called and apologized stating that she was not there on Friday. I do not want to hear that I'm sicker now then I was when I seen the Doctor almost 2 weeks ago. She told me that they called in another prescription .. .. .. mighty nice of them, I called the pharmacy only to find out it will be another 2 hours more .. .. .. 3 days later .. .. .. I told her that I wanted my Doctor, Dr.Kafka to call me himself. It is now 11:20 am, Will See .. .. ..

I love Dr Meseyton, I m glad she joined the practice. I HATE the practice. I ve been a patient for 19 years. It USE TO BE a great operation. Once they moved into their OWN bldg it all changed! Seems it s focused solely on $$$ and not patient care. I have waited as long as 2 1/2 hours to actually see the face of the doc. My time is no less important. I have been billed for procedures/injections never received. Somehow the answer is always a chest x-Ray or lab work. The billing Dept is argumentative or clueless. It is SAD that it ALL CHANGED. It s now necessary to go in with written notes since I only have 15 minutes.
ARE THESE REVIEWS EVEN READ BY CLAY-PLATTE STAFF!!!!!
Perhaps then the compassion and patient focused care would return.

As I sit here in the office, 45 minutes after my s...

As I sit here in the office, 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment time, having been 15 minutes early for the 1st appointment of the day, I realize that nothing will change. I've been a patient here for nearly 3 years and have always waited at least 45 mins for my doctor. The record time in office, check-in to checkout was 3 hours! I told myself it was worth it because the doctor took time with me. I figured he did the same for others, which I valued; a doctor who truly cares for his patients. While the latter may well be true, it's also true that the office is a mill. There are multiple patients scheduled at the same time and if you need anything additional (today, breathing exam) after meeting with the nurse, the doctor moves on to the next in line. Ok, so that makes sense and is a good use of time right? Yes, his time! My time is consistently disrespected. 3 hours??? And today already I'm looking at an hour to just see the doctor; and I suspect it'll be longer than that. I'm now at least 4th in line, as I've heard the nurse bring that many folks down the hall. I don't know where the blame lies. I don't want to believe it's with my doctor, as he seems to be talented. Yet, it's unacceptable. I drank the Kool aid upon my first "complaint". He said, "I give everyone the same care and it takes time." Remember my rationalization above...it came from the authority - my doctor. Meanwhile, I sit here because he wouldn't refill a script for an EMERGENCY INHALER until I came in. I've had asthma for 17 years! What exactly may have changed? So, do I wait in line to get this necessary medication or do I risk it and go to work on time? This is all unacceptable. I have good insurance and means to pay for quality care. I feel for those who have to utilize clinics and experience this type of care regularly. But, it's not my situation and this office is not a clinic. I scheduled an appointment time and do have the expectation that my time will be respected. I've done this too long with the same results. Today, I'm moving on.

There are a lot of 1 and 2 ratings for this practice and I am not surprised. My experiences fall in line with the 1 ratings. I had been seeing the same doctor for almost 20 years. When he moved into this practice, things started going downhill. Rude staff, long wait times, just like most of the other reviews. Still, most of my visits cost me only the copay, then the costs started going up. More and more miscellaneous charging started. At the end, EVERY visit was costing me $300.00 out of pocket. The group was charging for things that did not happen etc. And the last time I was there Dr. Chapman was VERY RUDE when I tried to discuss this with him. Please help yourself and stay away from this place.

I'd give it NEGATIVE 5 stars if possible---AVOID THIS PLACE!

The worst part: the staff seem incompetent when it comes to updated federal health guidelines & modern medical research/study results--putting patients at (proven) higher infection risks by following outdated guidelines.

The 2nd worst part: the wait at this place is RE-fN-DICULOUS! I have been an established client at this facility for at least 5 years, yet it consistently takes 1.5 hours minimum even when I show up 15 minutes before my appointment time to be seen by a nurse's aid. Then, IT'S ANOTHER HOUR MINIMUM WAIT for the nurse practitioner bc you can never get an appointment w the same doctor, or any doctor for that matter, when you actually need to see one. I'm a generally healthy individual & do not go in a lot but maybe 1~2 times a year for annuals & random injuries/infections. My visits at their office typically take an average 3.5 hours, but only get to speak to a nurse for about 15 minutes max.

Equally as bad: have a question regarding the results of your visit or your prescription? Don't expect a call back when you call their nurse line. The hold time is around 45 minutes average, & then after finally getting hold of someone to discuss my concern/question for the dr, the nurse will never call you back even if they tell you they will.

Clay Platte Family Medicine Clinic: I write this review after my absolute last trip to your visit bc 3 nurses have lied when they said they would call me back after they check with a doc regarding my request to switch from a prescription that is making me vomit & giving me diarrhea as side effects to one that has proven to be equally as effective but has never given me any issues. You want me to come back in so you can rape my wallet & my day again?? --NO THANKS!

I just had my first issue with this practice in that I followed my Dr's prompting regarding a medication change and now I'm being charged $40 more for an office visit. Expressing my frustration to the billing department was a waste of my time and the response was "your level of care won't always be same". In other words, they will bill whatever they want without and consideration of the patients receipt of value. What a racket.

My family has been going here since 1993, when a couple of the docs were with another practice. It has gotten quite large so wait times are a hassle, but we never have a problem getting an appointment with the doc of our choice. Dr. Joslin is our favorite and we prefer to see him, but if he is not available we also really like Dr. Ortiz and Dr. McDonald. We find all of them to be attentive and personable. We like Dr. Joslin enough that with the new obamacare we won't choose a health plan that doesn't include him. He has taken care of me, my husband, 3 kids, and an aging parent (Doc McDonald took care of dad!) and we have been happy with everything. I would highly recommend these three docs for anyone!

We really liked our doctor while there, but rarely got to see him due to his busy schedule. The waits were ridiculous - I'm talking more than an hour each time - and with a 1 year old it was getting to be too much. I also just pulled my daughters shot record and noticed that she never had rotavirus. Apparently CPFM doesn't carry it and it was never brought up to me - now it's too late.

The wait times at this place are beyond ridiculous. My husband sat in the waiting room for 40 minutes past his appointment time, then had to wait in the examination room for an hour before the doctor finally came in! And this wasn't the first time this happened. He's had three appointments and all three ran at least 30 minutes late. We will not be coming back.

Would give less than one star if i could. We got our infant vaccines (we had back to back 645pm for daughter and 7pm appointment for son) while the nurse was putting the bandaid on our daughters leg she stabbed me with the needle she had just injected into my daughter. Then acted like it was no big deal. Actually said "oh well" then for my next scheduled apointment (7pm same night didnt leave the room) for my son to get a medicine refill after almost 2 hrs in the office and seeing the nurse practicioner they tell us the only Dr on staff is an adult medicine dr and wont sign the prescription refill. When i complained and asked why they would schedule us for such a visit with no one on duty to sign the prescription the doctor came out and told me that this was a good way to get my family fired from the office. I have so much more i could and would love to complain about but your time is valuable so do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

Stay away from these incompetent jerks. They will charge you several hundreds dollars for x-rays that are totally useless by orthopedic surgeon who has to turn around and take his own x-rays. When you try to get them to reduce the bill for their incompetence, they rudely tell tell you no.
Terrible place and terrible people. I would not suggest this place to anyone.

Do you like a sense of mystery along with your medical care? Is one-sided phone tag an Olympic sport for you? Do you like watching, astounded, as your doctor shows off for his intern instead of properly diagnosing you?

Well, friend, this place is for you!

Actually, no. It's probably not good for anyone. Save yourself the stress, misdiagnosis, frustration, and ACTUAL NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE and get checked out somewhere else. Anywhere else.

Please.

I have been seeing Dr Ligard at CPFM for about 18 months. She has been very attentive and professional, as have the other staff here. Although I m sure the clinic has busy times when patients have longer wait times, in my 4 visits I never waited more than 10 minutes. I loved the opportunity to visit with a professional nutritionist at no cost. Lab staff were very competent, and nurses and admin folks equally good at their jobs. I will continue to see Dr Ligard for my health care needs.

I work at a competing clinic in the city, so keep ...

I work at a competing clinic in the city, so keep in mind giving a good review here doesn't help me in the slightest. But in all honesty, nothing, and I do really mean nothing would get me to switch to a different clinic short of this place closing its doors. Our entire household goes to this clinic. I see Dr. Delaney, fiance sees Dr. Chapman, and mother is now going here instead of KU Family Medicine, seeing Dr. Bollinger. However, EVERY doctor we've seen when our normal doctor isn't available has been nothing but professional and courteous. Just don't go in expecting the unrealistic.

We actually drive further to go here, and for good reason. The doctors and all the staff are hands down the best. Now, some people on here have made the valid complaint of wait times. There are times where you will be waiting a while to be seen, but this is a very busy clinic (for good reason). Arrive early because you have to check in and complete paperwork, bring a book or a well-charged cell phone. People who are truly sicker will generally be seen first, this is the way medicine works!

There is full lab available on site, as well as radiology. The staff always finds a way to try and get you in, and save for a few very human mistakes on getting a medication or two called in properly, have been completely wonderful to deal with!

Now to address the naysayers...

About the wait times, EVERY single time I have been here, the wait has been short. There has only ever been 2 times I had to wait more than 15 minutes in the lobby. Once was on my first time there due to filling out new patient paperwork (amazing... that takes time people...) and the other was for an injection nurse on a Saturday when the flu was going around the clinic and they were very short staffed (medical workers get exposed to everything and get sick too!). Each time, I was amazingly still in the back within 45 minutes.. and I've honestly never seen people wait longer than 30 minutes to be called back when I've gone there with family and waited for them to come back out. Even during the times when the lobby was completely full. You wait a long time, tell the front desk staff, because something has gotten lost in the shuffle. Communication is key.

As for waiting in the room, yes, there are times where I've waited in the room for a while. But working in medicine, I've learned that people demand an hour of attention during their 15-minute appointment. They will come in with 1 complaint on the appointment and give the doctor a laundry list of issues the second they walk in the door. This means every other patient will be waiting. Doctors/nurses do not have time machines. If every patient does this, everything WILL run behind. At a certain point they HAVE to cut you off to see the next person. It's only fair to everyone.

Calling for refills... you want a refill placed, yet you ignore the very clear message that states that if you need a refill, the PHARMACY has to be the one to place that call. Again, the standard operating procedure in medicine. Yet are surprised when you call and they don't refill it for you?

Appointments... the phone very clearly also give you your number in line. 8 people ahead of you for the same department? Going to take a little bit of time. That is why you are on hold. Arrived past your appointment... yep, you need to reschedule. Not their fault, it's YOURS. Period.

Rude staff... I've never had a poor experience from the front desk staff, the doctors, the nurses... anyone. I have personally seen a patient cuss out the receptionists' over asking for their name and date of birth (which everyone is required to ask for in medicine to ensure we are working in the right chart). Respect given requires respect received.

Lab result calls... Everyone in our household always seem to get their results called back. Also, it's easily accessible online through the portal at any time of day.

tl;dr- OUR FAMILY LOVES THIS PLACE!!! You might have a small wait occasionally, but don't go after work or on a Monday morning/Friday evening.

While the medical staff/doctors here are been helpful and had good bedside manner, the front desk and billings department are absolutely horrendous. Argumentative and uncooperative, I have tried to make payments before to no avail on multiple separate occasions and the most recent time they conveniently "lost" my payment and then locked me out of the patient portal. Unless you want to risk getting your bill sent to a collection agency (and them jacking up the price for no reason) I suggest you find somewhere else.

I love my doctor. I have seen him way before Clay-Platte even opened. However, besides the wait time, the triage nurses, for the most, are rude. Should not take over a week, or even 2 weeks to get a response back. Especially when it comes to medications that a patient is in need of.

Don't take on so many patients if you are not able to provide the best care possible, this is why people including me give you all a one star rating. They are terrible, they never update you on appointments for medications refills that you have to see the doctor before getting refills and i asked , "how come you all don't send a message in the mail or at least a pbone call to remind people that are busy?" Their excuse: "we can't do that for everyone because we have to many people." Dr.Bollinger and staff provide the worst service.

Be prepared to wait forever. I always schedule apt 1st thing in the morning and generally wait, in a room, no less than 45 minutes. AND their billing is very skewed. They will throw in all sorts of billable items you don t ask for, as well as bill for a 2nd apt if you ask for refills of a med at a physical.

This place is terrible! The staff is rude. They fraudulently charged me for services I did not receive. But the worst part was the chronic misdiagnosis.
Every time I'd go see Dr. Bollinger she would tell me I had some horrible medical issue that needed more tests or treatments and medications. She diagnosed me with a rare form of narcolepsy. It turned out she just had me on too many meds, (none that were actually needed) and they were making me very sleepy. It was almost like she was making me sick on purpose.
I switched to Mosaic they straightened everything out and I've never been healthier.
Do not under ANY circumstances trust the Dr. Frankenstein-esque office!!

Do yourself a favor and find a different doctor office. They charge way too much and they over charge. I went to the dr. And got my yearly physical and then she asked me about my diabetes and that charged another dr fee $150 and then asked if I was still taking my chantix and charged another fee $35. Overall that visit alone was well over $700. Don t do it to yourself too.

Once you get in the doctors are good. Expect to wait 1-3 hours with no explanation, or a warning every single visit. I left this evening after waiting an hour, I found a nurse who told me I'd be lucky to be seen in the upcoming 90 min either .

Just an observation of the front office staff today. Fridays and Mondays are always busiest. (Go figure... limited hours on Saturday and closed on Sunday) And in spite of the onslaught of same-day appt needs, sick crying children, loud people that insult them, and people that have no concept of time.... these women still keep their calm and professionalism.

Appointment times are a joke here. Go ahead and call off the rest of the afternoon because you'll be here for the next 2 to 3 hours. Based on the reviews this is a known problem and clearly management doesn't care. I'll update the review if the experience improves but for now just more waiting.

Do not bother. If you're sick, they can't get you in. Physicals are booked very far out. It's incredibly busy so they spend little time getting to know you as a patient. They're quick to give x-rays, MRIs, blood draws, etc., instead of listening and diagnosing.

I ve been seeing Dr. Granger since he began practicing. He s a wonderful doctor and I m blessed to have him. I have never had any problem with any of his office staff. They are always professional and courteous. Doctors never know what kind of problems a patient may present on any day. I d much rather wait for a competent doctor who is helping another patient than go to a doctor whose keeping on schedule is more important than providing needed care.

My family and I have been going to Dr. McDonald for 8 years, I absolutely LOVE him! I have had some troubles with things getting back to the Dr. But they are doctors and very busy! My son is special needs and he has been with us on this bumpy ride since he was 5 days old! Things are a little slower since they expanded, but I wouldn't change my doctor for anything! He always makes time for u and never acts rushed and that may result in having to wait a little longer! But worth the wait! Love this place no matter what anyone says! :)

I went to see Dr. James McDonald 2 times for weigh...

I went to see Dr. James McDonald 2 times for weight loss management. I sat in the chair next to the computer both times and never moved - never once got on the exam table. The first appointment, I waited an hour before he even came in the room. He stayed in the room less than 20 minutes and talked about weight loss and listened to my heart. He then told me that he would start me on weight loss medication, but I needed to complete a sleep study first and go back on birth control while I was on the medication. The next visit I had with him, he couldn't even remember me or what we had discussed at the 1st appointment, he asked me how the medication was working and how much weight I lost. I had to remind him that I hadn't even started it yet. Again, I sat in the chair next to the computer and we talked, then he listened to my heart, and then prescribed the medication. I got a bill with all my appointments on the same bill - almost $500. Dr. McDonald was stating he had performed a FULL ANNUAL PHYSICAL on me the 1st appointment, and was charging me for an annual and a level 4 office visit, and at the 2nd appointment stated he performed a full exam on me and was charging a level 4 office visit again. Somehow he did this while I was sitting in the chair next to the computer for both visits. He is committing medical fraud and is refusing to change his dictation to correctly reflect that WE ONLY TALKED ABOUT WEIGHT LOSS AND NO EXAM/ANNUAL WAS EVER PERFORMED. I am a medical coder and know exactly what criteria is needed in order to bill out an annual - and the high office visits that he was charging me for - and none of this is correct. I was told by the billing manager that she had a meeting with Dr. McDonald and he is standing by his dictation and refusing to change anything because that's what he did. BUT they wrote off my bill. Seems awfully sketchy that you're going to tell me that you absolutely "performed an annual physical" but you're going to write off my bill? I have left several messages with the billing manager since then, trying to get a refund for the portion of the bill that I had already paid. I have also left messages with Vince (who I was told was the clinic administrator), to see what steps I need to take since these visits were reported to my insurance and the clinic got a check from my insurance. I have yet to hear back from Vince, or the billing manager, so I have already started the process of contacting lawyers to get this resolved through the courts. I wish I could give this place less than 1 star, but unfortunately I can't. I will never go back here, and just hope anyone that is thinking of going here really looks elsewhere.

February 9, 2016... My visit with Dr. Chapman was awful. I won't be back His behavior toward me was abhorrent. I felt bad for the med student who had to endure it (my opinion.) Here is what I've copied from my own fb page. Apparently I will have to post this in increments. I want my story told!
Interestingly enough I can't post additional reviews to complete my post. I have too many characters. I posted my complete story on the Clay Platte fb page if anyone would like to read it. I hope it's not removed.

I have been here once. Loved my doctor. She didn't play games or tell me try this and this . She looked me over and gave me meds that worked finally. I had a clogged up ear for a year in a half. tried many things nothing worked. I like my doctor to show they care and not waste your time or my money and that's what I got. Please keep up the awesomeness. Happy Holidays.

As a practice (not speaking here of individual physicians) this place is hot mess. What a factory. Long waits in the waiting room and exam rooms. Heaven help you if you have to call them. Tell me... Is it appropriate to question a 3 year old about sexual abuse and swab them for stds for an infected hair follicle? All while saying it's "standard procedure" then confirms its an infected hair and calls cps on the household for no reason? Yeah id rather not have my kids EVER seen here again. I'm sure the board of health will have a good bit to say on this as well after my report.

My first review ever...of anything. :)

My first review ever...of anything. :)
Our family loves this office! We primarily see Dr. McDonald, who is very personable, attentive and open-minded about alternative medicines. We have three young children and appreciate his approach to medicine. He is not quick to throw drugs at everything. Yes - we have had to wait awhile from time to time, but I think that's part of the process when you're going to a doctor who is going to talk, listen and response appropriately to each client. If you want to show to your doctor's visit and be rushed through with a slip of paper for a drug afterwards thinking your problems have been solved, he may not be the doctor for you.

I am only giving 1 star because negative amounts are not available. This practice has horrible wait times well over an hour waiting room and another 30-60 minutes in dr room. Dr Ortiz is not compassionate and refuses to give any type of pain meds when they are truly needed. He forces you to do tests you do not want/need/or have time for and talks to you like a child even if you re older than he is. I left this office after being told I was pre-diabetic and to stop eating sugar and lose weight that was it and not even said nicely. At one time I was told medical referrals take 14days. My current office gets them down in less than 24 hours. Clay Platte bills for erroneous changes...need I say more stay away from this office

Lori has always been a great doctor and gave me quick results and if I need medication the illness is gone quick when I see her. However, good lord the wait here is crazy sometimes.
