I work at a competing clinic in the city, so keep in mind giving a good review here doesn't help me in the slightest. But in all honesty, nothing, and I do really mean nothing would get me to switch to a different clinic short of this place closing its doors. Our entire household goes to this clinic. I see Dr. Delaney, fiance sees Dr. Chapman, and mother is now going here instead of KU Family Medicine, seeing Dr. Bollinger. However, EVERY doctor we've seen when our normal doctor isn't available has been nothing but professional and courteous. Just don't go in expecting the unrealistic.
We actually drive further to go here, and for good reason. The doctors and all the staff are hands down the best. Now, some people on here have made the valid complaint of wait times. There are times where you will be waiting a while to be seen, but this is a very busy clinic (for good reason). Arrive early because you have to check in and complete paperwork, bring a book or a well-charged cell phone. People who are truly sicker will generally be seen first, this is the way medicine works!
There is full lab available on site, as well as radiology. The staff always finds a way to try and get you in, and save for a few very human mistakes on getting a medication or two called in properly, have been completely wonderful to deal with!
Now to address the naysayers...
About the wait times, EVERY single time I have been here, the wait has been short. There has only ever been 2 times I had to wait more than 15 minutes in the lobby. Once was on my first time there due to filling out new patient paperwork (amazing... that takes time people...) and the other was for an injection nurse on a Saturday when the flu was going around the clinic and they were very short staffed (medical workers get exposed to everything and get sick too!). Each time, I was amazingly still in the back within 45 minutes.. and I've honestly never seen people wait longer than 30 minutes to be called back when I've gone there with family and waited for them to come back out. Even during the times when the lobby was completely full. You wait a long time, tell the front desk staff, because something has gotten lost in the shuffle. Communication is key.
As for waiting in the room, yes, there are times where I've waited in the room for a while. But working in medicine, I've learned that people demand an hour of attention during their 15-minute appointment. They will come in with 1 complaint on the appointment and give the doctor a laundry list of issues the second they walk in the door. This means every other patient will be waiting. Doctors/nurses do not have time machines. If every patient does this, everything WILL run behind. At a certain point they HAVE to cut you off to see the next person. It's only fair to everyone.
Calling for refills... you want a refill placed, yet you ignore the very clear message that states that if you need a refill, the PHARMACY has to be the one to place that call. Again, the standard operating procedure in medicine. Yet are surprised when you call and they don't refill it for you?
Appointments... the phone very clearly also give you your number in line. 8 people ahead of you for the same department? Going to take a little bit of time. That is why you are on hold. Arrived past your appointment... yep, you need to reschedule. Not their fault, it's YOURS. Period.
Rude staff... I've never had a poor experience from the front desk staff, the doctors, the nurses... anyone. I have personally seen a patient cuss out the receptionists' over asking for their name and date of birth (which everyone is required to ask for in medicine to ensure we are working in the right chart). Respect given requires respect received.
Lab result calls... Everyone in our household always seem to get their results called back. Also, it's easily accessible online through the portal at any time of day.
tl;dr- OUR FAMILY LOVES THIS PLACE!!! You might have a small wait occasionally, but don't go after work or on a Monday morning/Friday evening.
