A Christmas Carol was as fantastic a show as ever. Wonderful cast!
Very nice venue and the shows are generally very good.
the first time I was there I really liked the atmosphere that is created once the curtain goes up, lights, applause and the butterflies in your stomach; everything that forms part to live the show in person this place knows how to capture. I really enjoy it
Amazing stuff, but the third anf smallest theatre is always hard to find
The Santaland Diaries is a well-done humorous play that many adults can relate to from their childhood. David Brian Alley Dave a magnificent performance. Would highly recommend.
I have seen several shows at CBT, and I am always in awe of the artistry that they employ. The dedication to the craft is clear here!
They always put on great shows here. I married into season tickets and found that I actually enjoy going to live theater. The stage sets for every play are always amazing, even if they are very simple. Concessions are available in the lobby, but they aren't your typical theater fare. They have items like fresh fruit, granola bars, Magpie's cookies, coffee, water, etc. No popcorn here. I would definitely recommend catching at least one production here. You never know, you may end up liking it.
Love, love the UT theatre department! Shout out to Aleah and the rest of the cast and crew of " DETROIT '67". Y'all did a fantastic job last night!
Love to watch A Christmas Carol every year... Always a great performance.
Amazing plays, impressive set designs, very professional
Amazing performance.. I don't think I've ever seen this play done so well. Bravo. Will definitely be going there again next time I'm in Tennessee.
Ticket price to production quality ratio is excellent.
One of my daughters loves plays and we have enjoyed everything we've seen at Clarence Brown. The sets, costumes, acting, direction, and lighting (yes, I notice how great the lighting is!), is top-notch. We see A Christmas Carol every year (she loves the part with the miners, please don't drop it!). Just saw Hamlet, which was fabulous. It may be time for season tickets.
Saw the Christmas Carol play in December...It was amazing, they do a brilliant job!
Love the shows, and the House and box office staff are very friendly.
I took my family to watch the Christmas carol for the first time and was very pleased with the performance at Clarence Brown Theatre. All seats were amazing and facility was beautiful
Terrific performance of Candide. The music, the acting, the costumes and the set design were all superb! Also, there's not a bad seat I, the house
Wonderful setting for an amazing musical. Excellent performance.
Wonderful theater with great productions! They have very Elaborate props and staging!
First class plays always. A variety of shows all outstanding. Plays here are top of the must-see list for Knoxville, Tennessee.
Great venue. The performance of A Christmas Carol was excellent. I plan to go again.
Quality plays (we saw Outside Mullingar) and very low cost tickets.
Excellent productions, great talent, and a venue that has plenty of seating, but an intimate feel. Opening Night is a special treat, with an opportunity to meet the actors at a post-production reception with snacks and a glass of sparkling. An affordable and enjoyable evening!
Lovely theater on UTK campus. We saw Blithe Spirit and the show was top-notch!
Not the easiest handicapped access. Otherwise, great shows, nice staff.
Great theatre. Great staff. We love UT and Knoxville. Can't wait to visit again.
Excellent entertainment, love the Clarence Brown Theater!
A fantastic stage venue. The plays are always first class and entertaining.
I love carousel theater which brings back many memories from my college days at UT
Great little theater on UT campus. There is a short little hike from the parking garage to get to the theater, but parking is free if you show your theater ticket.
Great place for a show. Be careful purchasing tickets as the diagram is reversed. Pay attention to the row numbers. Sound booth is in the rear.
Carousel theater. Very nice intimate setting, close to the actors, good lighting and sound
Wonderful theater: all the seats are great. Plays are consistently well done.
Great theatre. Intimate setting, always a great spot for a play or musician to perform.
I've been going to the Clarence Brown Theatre for several years now. Great productions
Saw "A Christmas Carol" here and for my very time watching a play I have to say the Kathleen Conlin and her Cast did a remarkable job. I really enjoyed it
They have great shows. Very well done performances. If you can't afford it, be a volunteer Usher. It's fun, not hard work, and plays are free.
The best place to see live regional theater in Tennessee. Lots of history. An academic training facility as well as an Equity theatre company.
We are so lucky to have this theatre in Knoxville!!
I loved the Christmas Carol it was so entertainingly magical!
worth the money! The most beautiful scenery and cast ever!!!!
Watched the Christmas Carol play at the theatre. It was great as always. I see this every few years and they always know how to keep it interesting.
Went to see "A Christmas Carol" and the acting was incredible. The seats were amazing. 10/10 would recommend
Really good entertainment. Seating is comfortable. Relaxing environment.
Loved it lol some old ladies started twerking at the end
I may be a bit biased having worked there for seven years, but having been in entertainment for 20+ years also makes me a bit judgemental.... having said that, the Clarence Brown Theatre is a treasure.
Theatre is an experience and the CBT delivers.... free parking, excellent curb appeal, plenty of bathrooms (you heard that right--they went from 4 to 14 women's stalls this year), great sightlines from every seat in all three theatres, amazing acoustics, disability accommodations of every form, and an unparalleled team of artists (resident, student, and from around the globe) all of which delivers better than most major venues be it Atlanta, Chicago, LA, or New York.
There's something for everyone at the CBT whether it's produced by the company or someone else, and the prices hover in the realm of a night at the Cinebar with concessions a quarter of the price.
I'm frankly at a loss as to how anyone in the region doesn't take advantage of this jewel and amazed at how the company manages to sustain such production value.
Whether you live here or you're just passing through, check out what's showing.
The quality of productions here rival those of Broadway. Seriously.
Treat the whole family if you can.
Wonderful theater venue. Excellent sight lines, great acoustics and sound.
I attended the romantic comedy, "Outside Mullingar" last Friday, a great performance by all! The Clarence Brown Theatre is a gem and its staff and actors always exceed my expectations!
Perfect size, great sound, friendly staff, good coffee!
Gorgeous building is the same since I was a lil kid! Always enjoy it
Fantastic! Every play has been stellar. Extremely helpful staff.
This was my first time at Clarence Brown Theater. This place is fantastic. The actors were good, the performance was good, and the stage/props where first rate. I'll never hesitate to see another show at Clarence Brown Theater.
A great place to enjoy a variety of shows and performances by students and professional actors. Have enjoyed season tickets for years.
VIOLET A HIT! Went to see a preview of "Violet" last Friday night because Charlotte Munson, who was the fabulous lead in "South Pacific" last spring, is cast in the title role again, plus the promise of a wide range of Southern music. Her voice is an absolute treasure! The music and musical talent on stage were an absolute delight!
Our family loves this theater. We have season tickets. They are great for changing your ticket at the last minute if you cant make your date. NOT a bad seat in the house. Its Knoxville best kept secret.
Love the actors too!
Went to see A Christmas Carol at CBT and it was great. Small theatre, but every seat is a good seat.
A very nice, small venue. Good performance in a comfortable theatre - there's not a "bad seat" in the house. Nice amenities. Will definitively be coming more often - especially since ticket prices aren't astronomical. Well worth it! (Saw Blithe Spirits in Feb 2020)
Candide , collaboration between Clarence Brown Theatre and KSO, is an incredibly exciting performance. The costumes were works of art that would allow a less perfect performance be to enjoyed. Everything came together so well. Knoxville is very fortunate.
We are fortunate to have this very professional theatre in Knoxville. We have been going for several years. It's always a joy; never a disappointment. The Clarence Brown at UT definitely adds to our quality of life.
