Excellent tour with our guide Rodeo today! Thank you!
Kyle was very knowledgeable and willing to answer all of our questions. It was very exciting to hear about the history and operation of the farm, and also get to interact with and pwt some of the studs. How cool to be face to face with some of the top horses in the country. Very cool experience that I would highly recommend. The gift shop was very nice and had lots of great souvenirs, and Donna was so kind and helpful. I will definitely be ordering more merchandise from online in the future. Claiborne will be a repeat stop next time we are near Lexington! Thanks for a great family experience!
Loved our visit. Our guide John, was so informative. Came to see Secretariat's stall and grave. But we left with so much more. Was able to pet and feed peppermint to Blame and Iconicus. Not to mention seeing War Front, one of the World's most expensive and coveted studs. Thank you for making our visit so memorable.
Beautiful farm, knowledgeable and welcoming staff and the horses look very happy and very healthy :)
This farm let you actually get close to some of the horses and pet them, even hug them. had a small group and was very welcoming. very nice feeling and Kevin, our tour guide, was great. Very knowledgeable of the workings of the farm and the horses.
Definately worth the drive, Claiborne farm has a wonderful history, most of all the final resting place of Secretariat.
What a beautiful farm tour! Our tour guide Joe was a walking encyclopedia and he is was what made the tour even better than we thought it would be! We were able to see and meet 2 of our most favorite horses. Thank you Claiborne Farms for making a great memory for our trip to Kentucky.
We had an amazing time at Claiborne Farm! We learned so much about the horses and were allowed to touch, feed and ask as many questions as we liked. The group was small enough so that it was very well paced, interactive and fun. Jon, our guide was amazing with his love and expertise. We will come back and do the private tour so we can see even more!
greatest tour, even love me to see one of the horses not included on the tour that day there was The Sire of a friend's horse back home!
Excellent tour of facilities. Helpful, friendly staff and a great giftshop.
Love Claiborne, saw Secretariat for the first time when he was 4 yrs old. Been coming to visit since 1970. Will come as long as I'm able. A must see place for horse lovers & history buffs. Beautiful & peacefull.
First was the sight of massive trees, serene stream, blue-green grass, well maintained buildings and horses quietly grazing in large paddocks. Second was our tour guide, Kevin. He was welcoming and gracious to guests; well informed and enthusiastic about Claiborne; very quick to pick up on guests comments. He would add more information relevant to a guests comment. The first stop was the original breeding shed where Kevin explained the history of the building. The crowd was quiet, contemplating the role played and contributions made by Claiborne to the thoroughbred. Third were the equine stars. Claiborne was the most accommodating (more than any other farm we visited) in letting guests touch the brick wall of muscle on champion thoroughbreds; to get tickled by multi-million dollar stallions lips taking a peppermint from their hand; to get a picture taken as they stood next to these giant's shoulder, where a human looked quite small. Fourth was the cemetery of legendary thoroughbreds who'd lived at Claiborne. We are planning a return trip to Claiborne and recommend this tour before any other.
Great place to get a sense of raising thoroughbreds in Kentucky. A great tour.
What a great experience!! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable! I m hoping to come back someday and do the shuttle tour to see more of the farm!
What a wonderful experience to visit the farm and to have such knowledgeable people as tour guides. Thank for opening your doors to the public.
Our tour guide Kyle was very professional, knowledgeable and personable. Making this the best farm tour I have ever taken.
Getting to pet War Front and have our photo taken made this tour extra special.
I highly recommend visiting Claiborne Farm.

Our tour guide, Kyle was so knowledgeable. What a great experience learning about how the farm has helped shape the racing industry. We got to see the gravesites, pet some stallions, see the barns. It really was a great tour and I highly recommend to anyone!
Outstanding overall experience .
Being able to actually pet some legendary racehorses was an unexpected bonus.
Learned a lot about the industry, the breed & history of thoroughbred horse racing.
Although I am not really a horse person, the tour was very interesting and I had a great time. Rodeo, the tour guide, was very knowledgeable and made the tour fun and interesting. He answered everyone's questions and if you're lucky, maybe he'll let you feed a peppermint or two to some of the horses. The farm is beautiful and surprisingly clean (I've been on many farms and this one by far is the cleanest I've seen). I would highly recommend a tour of Claiborne Farms.
Wonderful interaction with the horses, beautiful farm. Our tour guide, Kevin, was fantastic! Highly recommend the tour for any one who likes horses and their history.
Very knowledgable your guide. Fun to see quality horses and hear about history. We were all very glad to take this tour.
Absolutely beautiful. This is the heaven of horse breeding. Before you visit, you should visit the Kentucky horse park or do research so you truly appreciate the amount of horse royalty that both currently live here and that were bred/lived here. Fantastic tour
It was an awesome experience. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to be up close to some of the farm's outstanding Thoroughbreds. My tour guide, Keven, was the best. The property is beautiful. The giftshop was everything a giftshop should be. 5 stars across the board.
The tour here was by far the best in the area. It was interesting and informative. We got to get up close and personal with some of the most famous horses in the world. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone. Come and see what Kentucky is famous for.
Fantastic tour!! The farm is nestled in the rolling hills of horse country. Joe, the tour guide, was so knowledgeable about the horses, the history of the farm, and the complete pedigree of all the horses. I can not believe I was able to pet Orb and War Front, give a peppermint candy to Blame, see Secretariat's stall, and see Secretariat's grave! Definitely a must see!
Kyle was great excellent in his knowledge of the farm and all the horses I liked the great care when he brought the horses to view. An we got get up close and pet them and his attention to detail in putting the tack away very neatly and orderly I enjoyed so much also the lady in the gift shop was very friendly she helped me pick out the shirts for my grand daughters this was a well worth trip thank you
Took the Thoroughbred Tour...was amazing. Our guide was awesome!
Loved touring the beautiful Claiborne farm in Kentucky! Money well spent for a great learning experience. Our tour guide was very, very knowledgeable, and the gift shop had many cute reasonably priced items. Fun day!
Great tour with knowledgable people. Up close and personal with numerous big name thoroughbred. We got to pet them and also hand feed some a couple of peppermints. So much fun.
Great tour. Had not done this one in over 40 years. Very informative and the horses are great. Well worth the price of admission.
I had wanted to visit here for many years and my wife had wanted to see the Kentucky horse farms. We decided to do a "Kentucky/Tennessee" vacation and went to Claiborne Farms. It didn't surprise me that MY favorite part of the vacation was visiting Claiborne but it kind of surprised me that my wife felt the same. The tour was fascinating to get the history and mechanics of thoroughbred horse production and it was free. They bring out some of the stallions for you to see and touch first hand including Kentucky Derby winners and also War Front. I had never heard of him but when I found out he is insured for 100 million dollars it gives you a different perspective of things. The people at the farm were super friendly and welcoming. The stallion grave yard is very cool. Many of the top stallions in the history of the sport are buried there including Secretariat. I would certainly do it again if I were going to be in the area.
I thought it was awseme. Very informative.a great place to go.
It was a dream to come here after want I g to for so many years! It did not disappoint! I can't wait to come back!
Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable of farm and operations of farm. Kevin was a great guide!
The tour guide jon knew so much. You could just tell his love for his job and those horses.
Excellent tour from Rodeo! New to living in Kentucky, we are new to the horse industry, so this tour helped us learn a lot. Burial site of the legendary Secretariat.
This was an excellent farm tour! Of course you can see Secretariat s grave but they also brought out several horses for us to interact with including their best stallion. We enjoyed it!
This was a truly unique experience and it was so exciting to see the horses up close and personal. Our guide was friendly, entertaining, and very informative. We would definitely go again!
Excellent place to visit if you want to experience the vintage horse breeding operation. No fancy machines and computers here.....just love of the animals and their sport. Extremely good tour guide.
If you've ever seen videos of Secretariat run, or just love horses in general, touring Claiborne is a MUST when visiting Lexington! If you only tour one thoroughbred farm, make it Claiborne. I was so afraid that tours would be shut down due to covid, but they're still giving tours (and a lot of other farms aren't yet). Our tour guide, Rodeo, was awesome. He taught us all about the breeding program at Claiborne. Then we visited the barn, stall, and paddock that was Secretariat's home while he was alive, which was super cool. Rodeo even brought 2 different stallions out of their stalls and let us pet them and take pictures with them! One was Kentucky Derby champ named Orb, and the other was a champ named War Front! The farm was so gorgeous, and the horses even more so. Next time we visit, I think we're going to take the shuttle tour of the farm!
Learn all about horse farming thoroughbreds. Pet a $70 million horse. You will get a real appreciation for the money involved in the sport.
Kevin did an excellent job taking us on our tour. He was very knowledgeable and willing to answer our questions. Loved the opportunity to feed some of the horses peppermints and pet them. The small gift shop was very nice and I felt reasonably priced.
Spectacular. Beautiful horses, farm, views, a lot of celebrity horses, each with their own personality. Grounds and stalls are immaculately kept and cleaned. It s a pleasure just to walk though the farm
Beautiful Farm and Beautiful Horses. Take the time to visit and Learn about the horses and history of the farm. Rodeo showed us around and was a wealth of knowledge. He also brought a few horses out for photos and allowed us to take pictures with them. Very relaxed tour and worth the time. Oh and also stop by Lils in Paris for Lunch afterwards. Great Time!
Visit the stallions who are siring today's great runners!
Did a tour today with Joe . He did a great job, very informative.
Historical in every way, the views leave you breathless. The kind of place that gives you the chills knowing the type of horse flesh that has at one time or another graced these rolling hills of Kentucky.
We learned a great deal about running of a horse farm on the tour. It was a great day.
The best farm tour you can possibly go on while in Lexington, KY. So welcoming and they let you get up close and personal with their top stallions including petting, taking pictures, and feeding them. We were blown away with this tour and cannot wait to take our visitors there.
Worked here for a summer. Loved it. Great people, amazing horses.
The birthplace of Thoroughbred legends. 100 plus years of history. Top class all around.
Excellent place to visit knowledgeable and friendly staff a must for horse lovers
The tour guide Kyle was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and showed some passion in his job. Made sure everyone's questions were answered thoroughly. Would definitely reccomend.
Beautiful farm. Everyone very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful !
The info given before we even arrived was so helpful. The farm is beautiful and clean. Our guide, Rodeo, was courteous and extremely knowledgeable. The animals are magnificent! We will visit again and bring family and friends.
