Kyle was very knowledgeable and willing to answer all of our questions. It was very exciting to hear about the history and operation of the farm, and also get to interact with and pwt some of the studs. How cool to be face to face with some of the top horses in the country. Very cool experience that I would highly recommend. The gift shop was very nice and had lots of great souvenirs, and Donna was so kind and helpful. I will definitely be ordering more merchandise from online in the future. Claiborne will be a repeat stop next time we are near Lexington! Thanks for a great family experience!

Loved our visit. Our guide John, was so informative. Came to see Secretariat's stall and grave. But we left with so much more. Was able to pet and feed peppermint to Blame and Iconicus. Not to mention seeing War Front, one of the World's most expensive and coveted studs. Thank you for making our visit so memorable.

We had an amazing time at Claiborne Farm! We learned so much about the horses and were allowed to touch, feed and ask as many questions as we liked. The group was small enough so that it was very well paced, interactive and fun. Jon, our guide was amazing with his love and expertise. We will come back and do the private tour so we can see even more!

First was the sight of massive trees, serene stream, blue-green grass, well maintained buildings and horses quietly grazing in large paddocks. Second was our tour guide, Kevin. He was welcoming and gracious to guests; well informed and enthusiastic about Claiborne; very quick to pick up on guests comments. He would add more information relevant to a guests comment. The first stop was the original breeding shed where Kevin explained the history of the building. The crowd was quiet, contemplating the role played and contributions made by Claiborne to the thoroughbred. Third were the equine stars. Claiborne was the most accommodating (more than any other farm we visited) in letting guests touch the brick wall of muscle on champion thoroughbreds; to get tickled by multi-million dollar stallions lips taking a peppermint from their hand; to get a picture taken as they stood next to these giant's shoulder, where a human looked quite small. Fourth was the cemetery of legendary thoroughbreds who'd lived at Claiborne. We are planning a return trip to Claiborne and recommend this tour before any other.

Although I am not really a horse person, the tour was very interesting and I had a great time. Rodeo, the tour guide, was very knowledgeable and made the tour fun and interesting. He answered everyone's questions and if you're lucky, maybe he'll let you feed a peppermint or two to some of the horses. The farm is beautiful and surprisingly clean (I've been on many farms and this one by far is the cleanest I've seen). I would highly recommend a tour of Claiborne Farms.

Absolutely beautiful. This is the heaven of horse breeding. Before you visit, you should visit the Kentucky horse park or do research so you truly appreciate the amount of horse royalty that both currently live here and that were bred/lived here. Fantastic tour

Fantastic tour!! The farm is nestled in the rolling hills of horse country. Joe, the tour guide, was so knowledgeable about the horses, the history of the farm, and the complete pedigree of all the horses. I can not believe I was able to pet Orb and War Front, give a peppermint candy to Blame, see Secretariat's stall, and see Secretariat's grave! Definitely a must see!

I had wanted to visit here for many years and my wife had wanted to see the Kentucky horse farms. We decided to do a "Kentucky/Tennessee" vacation and went to Claiborne Farms. It didn't surprise me that MY favorite part of the vacation was visiting Claiborne but it kind of surprised me that my wife felt the same. The tour was fascinating to get the history and mechanics of thoroughbred horse production and it was free. They bring out some of the stallions for you to see and touch first hand including Kentucky Derby winners and also War Front. I had never heard of him but when I found out he is insured for 100 million dollars it gives you a different perspective of things. The people at the farm were super friendly and welcoming. The stallion grave yard is very cool. Many of the top stallions in the history of the sport are buried there including Secretariat. I would certainly do it again if I were going to be in the area.

If you've ever seen videos of Secretariat run, or just love horses in general, touring Claiborne is a MUST when visiting Lexington! If you only tour one thoroughbred farm, make it Claiborne. I was so afraid that tours would be shut down due to covid, but they're still giving tours (and a lot of other farms aren't yet). Our tour guide, Rodeo, was awesome. He taught us all about the breeding program at Claiborne. Then we visited the barn, stall, and paddock that was Secretariat's home while he was alive, which was super cool. Rodeo even brought 2 different stallions out of their stalls and let us pet them and take pictures with them! One was Kentucky Derby champ named Orb, and the other was a champ named War Front! The farm was so gorgeous, and the horses even more so. Next time we visit, I think we're going to take the shuttle tour of the farm!

Historical in every way, the views leave you breathless. The kind of place that gives you the chills knowing the type of horse flesh that has at one time or another graced these rolling hills of Kentucky.
