Always had great service from Citysave whether by phone, in person or via the internet. They provide a much needed service for those people on low incomes by helping them to save. Credit Unions also help keep people away from unscrupulous moneylenders (loan sharks). Long may they be around.
Poor service and rude and unhelpful staff...waste of time .
The most frustrating experience I have ever had. I have been a member for the better part of a decade and I have never been able to access their online services. I have been repeatedly told to re-register and I am always back where I began. Recently, I was sent a link to register and when I tried i kept getting a message that my details can't be validated.
I can't beleve it, i save with them but I am increasingly feeling I am throwing my money down a pit because it is near impossible to do any transaction with them.
I pray that the relevant authorities see this review and become aware of the frustration their members have to go through to do business with them.
Very frustrating experience!
Very complicated and long process to withdraw my money.
I have sent my bank details (mandate) to City Save by post on two occasions. City Save keep informing me that they have not received my details and they are currently experiencing problems with Royal Mail. They will not allow me to withdraw money until they receive details of the account that I wish for the money to be transferred to.
I have suggested that I could send the completed mandate and my bank statements by email (so that they transfer money into my personal account). I have been informed that they cannot accept my bank details by email.
I will now have to post my bank statements to City Save for the 3rd time, in the hope that they will receive them. I cannot understand why I keep receiving the same excuse ' we are experiencing problems with Royal Mail'.
Will be closing my account down as soon as I receive my money!!
I have been saving with credit union for 25years and i have always found them very helpful. Borrowing from them has been easy and painless, with my recent loan being approved in just one day.
I have only good things to say about credit union

This service is great help if you want to save and borrow, thing I like most about citysave credit union is that while I'm paying off my loan I'm actually saving at the same time, and I can easily check my balance online or over the phone, also withdrawal is so easy and convenient.
I would recommend to anyone who face financial difficulties to open an account it will pay off in the long or short run

I joined Citysave Credit union back in March 2012, I do have to say that since joining i have had NOTHING but problems over the last few months, Although City Sav are a financial Institution, It's not for me, and i wouldn't recommend.
Waiting 2 weeks for my money to return to me still not here. All because NI number was not on the reference. They decided to change how deposits are accepted . When followed up there was a fiery female creature who lacked manners on the telephone.
I have been using the service since 2009. I've recommended many people to join and they have done so. I find the service and services easy to use and understand. If you are unsure about something you can ask if you can't get answers straight away they will and have phoned me back. All in all a great service 10/10 keep up the good work. We can't please all the people all the time if anyone has a negative comment please g
Try resolving it with Citysave as you maybe surprised. If not Lloyds and Co-operative bank are just around the corner.
Been a member of Citysave for nearly 10 years. Have to say they have changed my life for the better. Its so vital we have a successful thriving Credit Union in Birmingham. Really impressed with all the online services they offer now, over the past few years they have advanced into the 21st century.

Have been with these for 5yrs, have my benefit paid directly to them (so i have no choice but to pay every week) and have saved with them from day one. Never had a problem but all of a sudden i do not meet the criteria anymore and cant get a loan even though my circumstances have remained the same. I rely on this loan every year to pay for christmas and now im screwed and they will not tell me why i dont meet the criteria anymore!!! Im not the only person they have done this to in the last few mths!!!
Have recently joined City Save and find the experience pleasantly surprising. Have used all their products and found them easy to use and very efficient. I have recommended City save to a number of friends and colleagues who all have joined and found joining straightforward and the android app for the cash planner makes it more or less like a normal bank account with the added difference that this type of banking helps the community
Getting really sick of there customer service took 3months to get my card after calling 3 times i complained and asked to speak to the manager which she never called me back instead sent me letter with no details addressing my concerns.
Ive tried to request an automated withdrawal a few times which does not work. I spoke to an adviser to request money to be put on my card i was advised it would be on there within the hour which was not done. So now its Friday not open till money i have no money for the weekend thank a lot.
I ve been with city save for a very long time. I ve had no problems accessing my withdrawals and I find staff very helpful.
Brilliant service especially now they have the mobile app
Had loans before with citysave, payments go straight to them out of my child benefit so I have never missed a payment. All of a sudden I can no longer have loads of them. It's a joke. No longer want to help you.
So far, not a great experience. I applied for a loan on Wednesday, and was told, over the phone, that I should expect a call back with a decision within 48 hours. It's now over 48 hours later and still no call, despite me calling them several times today and being told the loan team were being chased for me, and that I should expect a call before close of business at 5PM today. They are now closed for the weekend. Not entirely happy.
Will change my rating if service improves but for now, not thrilled with my service.
