Awesome service. Best sports shoe shop in Massachusetts

An amazing experience at Marathon Sports! They asked all the right questions and offered many solutions!

I tried on about 9 pairs and found the perfect shoe for running! The saleswoman did a fantastic job showing me all there is to offer. I left feeling like I was able to try a little bit of everything, but not too overwhelmed by choices.

Definitely will go back when these shoes wear out.

This is how you earn customers for life: Marathon Sports, which has already impressed me in the past by spending time analyzing stride, asking good questions, getting the right style, putting me in the right size for first time in adult life, offering discounts to those who are referred by podiatrist and a host of little things, blew me away by exchanging my shoes 3 weeks after I bought them as the fit wasn't perfect. I didn't even ask them to - just stopped in to them to advise on possible inserts or different lacing. So impressed...

A sporting goods buying 'experience'. The team couldn't have been nicer and willing to help. We were being tourists for the day, so no real agenda in walking into the now famous store. Within a few minutes, though, we felt compelled to buy something to support the MR8 or Boston One foundations, so we did. My children will never forget the tragedy that happened in those sacred grounds, but they can say they were part of the solution.

Tucked away off the street is a runners' haven and the also host runs through nice Boston neighborhoods.

The day after Boston Marathon we stumbled upon a booth of Marathon Sports where finishers could engrave their medals for free. What a fantastic offer. I ask the guy until when this service will be available. He said 2:30pm; we came back later in time but then everything was all over.

Hope you understand that I felt a little bit disappointed. Nevertheless, thanks for the great service for free.

Nice store but beware of their limited return policy. I used my new $130.00+ running shoes indoors for a total of 20 days across a few months and when the bottoms started to unglue they wouldn't accept a return or exchange as it was past the 30-day return policy. I was told to file a claim with the manufacturer.. um ok?.... I understand sometimes it's the manufacturer's issue but I've had other sports stores manage return claima for customers and not make them jump through a million hoops. I won't be coming back here nor would I recommend purely for the return policy. I guess there is a trade off for trying to support a local store ...

I had been trying to track down a season-old pair of Brookes running shoes for months, and emailed Marathon on the off-chance they had a pair in stock. They checked and got back to me in a day or two - they discovered a pair, sent through a link to purchase at a knock-down price, and I had them on my feet within a couple days, along with a genuinely lovely note. I can't speak highly enough of Marathon's service - thank you to Kelsey and the whole team at Marathon for coming through for me!

I love the friendly staff and appreciate there are stores to support your questions. Great variety of options. Not many barefoot style shoes is only complaint but there's REI for this.

I've been a customer for years mostly because I understand and want to support a local business committed to supporting the local running scene. Recently, I found that the shoes I bought there were not quite right. I gave the folks at the Boston store a call and they told me to just bring them back in for an exchange to a pair that were just right. This is not the kind of service you would get a big box store or on line. Shane and the team at the store are first class.

Enjoyed the customer service there when looking for running gear

Wow. Popped in this store after ogling at the Boston Marathon finish line painted on the road right outside the shop. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. We enquired about their favourite running routes that we could access as tourists and they dutifully shared their hints and tips and a preprepared map. There was a great selection of running gear for both guys and girls (and kids!). We purchased Boston Strong tops which all the profits went to the memorial fund and were given sample hydration tabs and anti-blister powder to try. Great shop for all your Boston running needs!

Great vibe in the store. Went in last year and a group of local runners at the store to meet up for a run, positive vibes.

The lady who helped me out knew the shoes like the back of her hand - great advice. Told me to take them for a spin, I did this for 5 pairs and two pairs twice. No obligation or pressure to buy at any stage. It worked, I bought two pairs and have been looking for another shoe store like it since.

Carla was amazing! She had such incredible patience for my girlfriend and I - we mustve tried on 30 shoes! But she kept at it and found perfect shoes for each of our foot and gait. Excellent experience and will certainly go back to get fit at Marathon Sports for our next pair too!

Great store and great location. Very impressive shoe wall and shoe lineup. They are a small space but carry more shoes than I've seen in bigger stores. They also carry road racing flats and lighter weight shoes that other stores tend not to carry. They were sold out of one shoe I wanted but they were able to get it for me from their online store with free shipping. Great apparel and accessory selection too. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.

The young woman (I think her name was Haley), was very helpful with my shoe search. She did a quick assessment of my feet and gait, and proceeded to produce a few pairs of shoe in different size and widths until I found the right one. I ended up finding the same shoe for a little less online, but their customer service is worth the trip.

I swear they have everything under the sun a runner could possibly need in here! The staff was very helpful, and although I didn't buy any shoes here, they seem to have a great variety of options for all types of runners. The store itself is on the smaller side, but what they did really uses the space well, and it is easy to navigate. If you're in need of gear for a short race or even the Boston Marathon, this is the place! Highly recommend.

If you need running shoes, then this is your place. They take the time to fit you into the correct shoe for your foot and your running stride. The staff is knowledgeable about running and will find the shoe that works for you.

I am a loyal fan to great experience and personnel. Every time I come here I talk to Shane. He's the man. Any questions I have he gives me a good answer on and I trust his opinion since he has running experience (he's ran Marathons). I have even gone on days where I was not really planning on buying anything but rather ask him a running question and he never felt burdened or rushed me during our talk. And even if he has to step away to help someone else he still came back and resumed the conversation like it never stopped. I appreciate the personal attention regardless of how nutty it gets in there sometimes. You're my boy Shane!!!

Marathon Sports is the best. A staple for runners in Boston. Also sadly, one of the locations of the bombing during the Boston Marathon. Their staff is always ready and always friendly and wanting to help. Good selection of hats and shirts and shoes and pretty much anything I Runner might need. Top notch service!

Excellent service! Did not feel rushed or pressured in any way, loved the ability to take shoes for a quick jog outside. Also grateful that the sales person let me know the price points for each of my contenders early in the decision process, I ended up getting a great deal on a pair of NBs.

And wonderful job at social distancing inside the store! Each group of customers had their own little area with plenty of space. 100% recommend!

I knew my running shoes had seen better days and it was time to make them my grubby gardening shoes. I also knew that I would be buying my next pair at Marathon Sports. How can all the runners in Boston be wrong? I found the staff to be extremely knowledgeable and patient in fitting me. The fact that they let you wear the shoes outside for a quick test run is awesome!! They have a great selection of shoes and running gear/apparel. If you want the right fit in your running shoes, Marathon is the place to go.

I was helped by a knowledgeable woman and she helped me get the best sneakers I really needed! I was also able to donate the sneakers I came in with. She worked with me to figure out what was best for me and I can t wait to go back and buy more!

The people there are great! They were very helpful in choosing shoes. They are very knowledgeable about the different shoes. They check your stride to determine the best type of shoe for your foot and activity. They also encourage you to test out the selection and have a treadmill you can use to help the decision.

Great running store. I m just getting into running and I wasn t intimidated at all when I went in to get some shoes. The associates were very patient with me trying on several pairs of shoes even though they had to ask people to come back later due to the 6-person max in store. I can t wait to wear out the pair that I got and go back for more.

Wow. I ve been running xc from 6th grade thru college and ultras for 10 years after and work as an airline pilot traveling the world and seeing running shoe shops. This is the best. I have a slight stress fracture from running ultras in racing flats for years in one foot and not the other and not quite a certain pronation with a forefoot strike and Bella was able to diagnose and get 3 SOLID choices in less than a minute from 3 different brands. With them carrying every brand they don t try to sing any one in particular, just what you need. Their staff is truly the highlight though. Bella s hookup with exactly what my weird feet needed was impressive.

Great place to get running gear. Staff is very knowledgeable and most of them are runners as well. This is not an all sports store, shoes, clothing and other assorted gear for runners/walkers.

The best running store ever. I've been to running stores all over the US; the people that work here, their expertise and the customer experience make this place literally the best running store I've been to. They will do gait analysis, they have a treadmill, charging rooms, etc. as expected but they'll also let you take the shoes you're trying on for a quick jaunt outside of you're serious about it. I just can't say enough great things about this place! Maybe I'll try to work here if I ever retire.

Look, I understand that it's Monday, we'd all rather be floating in a pool, and that Marathon Sports is not responsible if my bags happen to get stolen from behind the counter (OBVIOUSLY), but I think the crab behind the register could have handled my request to keep an eye on my bags while I shopped with something more polite than an angry "it's not my job!". So what is her job, Marathon Sports? Very poor service.
