Iconic location, large swimming pool with long course lanes and play areas.
we love this pool we ride our bicycles there this summer the water was clean and warm and where can you find a giant pool with a view like this they have lap Lanes lockers changing rooms the concession has good food and reasonable prices with the pool is amazing.
Exellent place to spend a picnic with family or friends, the place has tables, bathrooms, beach, and wonderfull view!!!
Parking prices are exorbitant !! The pool is wonderful . Kids and adults can find their dream here...ocean view , hard to beat . Food and drinks just outside and fresh. Well managed, this pool is clean and at the right temperature. Can be vey busy.
It's right by the ocean but 80 degrees Fahrenheit and often not busy at early and late times. It's fresh water and has adult only swim lanes. It's very bright in the sun, no shade but the forest is right there. The changerooms are old and not right at the pool and the only showers are outside and usually quite warm. You can park nearby or walk or cycle to the very close Downtown area. Check the times at the Parks Board website because they change according to the date. On really hot days I swim at one of the safe ocean beaches to cool down.
Didn't actually go in for a dip, but should of as the weather was hot. Admission prices seemed reasonable for adults but cheaper if you bring your kids with you
great park, pool and beach. lovely walk and perfect place to relax. huuuuuge outdoor pool
Public swimming pool close to the second beach with view on the English Bay and related promenade.
An outdoors swimmingpool with a really epic view! It's cheap and next to other beaches. Besides the epic view and the location, the swimming pool has 2 slides, but I would recommend to bring a ball or something.
A beautiful beach with ample activities to do. Long beach to play around, great swimming area. The beach side pool and warm showers are so welcome to relax and rejuvinate. Lots of green space for picnic, sports and great kids park. A day in not enough :). There is ample parking space but it get full quickly. Food is available near the beach, at times lines can get long for food and to get in the pool.
Great place to go with kids. Easy to get and lots of fun for a moderated price
Ocean Front Swimming Pool - does anything else need to be said
Second Beach swimming pool was great. We arrived about an hour after it opened, on a very hot summer day, I would suggest arriving right at opening to get a perfect spot. Although very busy there was still plenty of space in the pool. I also suggest arriving early to get a parking spot is that can be tough, especially if there's other events going on around the park. Using the parking app is also a breeze. We go to the pool a few times a year and it's worth the trip from Surrey as it's a great pool, great view and just lots of fun. Two playgrounds really close too.
Very nice place to hang out with family and friends.
Actually just went here for the first time over the labor day long weekend. It was only a few bucks for each person to get in. The pool was very clean and the water is heated. There are three water slides for various ages, toddlers up to adults. You can get a stamp on the way out to get back in in case you want to grab food at the concession stand or run to the washroom/change room. I did notice it was a bit chilly out of the water as there's usually a breeze coming off the water.
Idyllic setting, courteous staff, questionable patrons. We're not in Brazil people, don't change on the deck! And keep your wet paws out of my pod!!
A pool next to the ocean???? Filled with Canadains????
How can you dislike this ludicrously exposed shallow pool. Puddle is more appropriate. Right next to the might of the Pacific ocean (well Georgia straights) it seems so pointless puny but proud.
Great pool, and a fantastic way to spend some time outside with kids/friends. Amazing view of the ocean, and a beautiful park overall! My wife and I toured the whole park by car and it was very relaxing. Hope to visit again sometime in the future without the smoke from fires!
I spent a lovely afternoon at the Second Beach Pool today. It was large and never felt crowded even though there were lots of people. There are a couple of things I wish I had known in advance to make my time even better:
1. Bring your own chair. There are maybe 2 dozen chairs that are taken as soon as the pool opens. Bring your own comfy lounger and you will be set.
2. Bring your own shade. There are a few scant trees around the far perimeter and nothing else. Bring an umbrella or some other type of shade device for some relief from that hot sun.
3. Hold it. The bathrooms are absolutely gross- try to hold it if you can! There are separate change rooms that don't have doors or curtains on the stalls. Bring a large towel to drape over the door for a somewhat private changing experience.
4. Bring your own food and water. There is some over priced convenience food available but you are better off both health and wallet wise to pack some goods from home!
An attraction for the sunny days in Greater Vancouver.
My favourite place in Vancouver hands down. So relaxing, laying in the sun by the pool, trees looking down on you, you looking out at the ocean...just brilliant.
What's not to love my favourite summertime pool for 40 years now
Nice pool for the kids when you are in Vancouver for a few days.
You can rent towels at the entrance for 2 dollars
When you're in Vancouver for a few days, it's nice to swim in the outdoor pool and relax on the lawn yourself.
Tip, dress in advance in the hotel and in the field under the towel because the changing rooms outside the pool are really very dirty!
You can rent towels for around 2 dollars at the checkout
Small pool, but it is an excellent option, considering that the sea water is too cloudy.
Very nice warm pool in stanley park. We had a good time
Beautiful location and a massive pool. It's wonderful for the COVID19 times as they don't book too heavily and you get a good chunk of time (90m for public swim). Can't wait to go back!
Great spot for a family to cool off in the summer. Gradual entry on one side for kids. Nice that the concession has extended hours this year so you can visit in the evening and swim and still grab some food. The location is hard to beat with the view.
Great pool for kids. Adults can do some lap swimming in the deep end, but this pool is mostly for kids. May be a bit chilly as there is a breeze coming from the ocean unless it is really a hot day. There are a 2-3 short water slides and there is a large shallow area for the toddlers to play in. You can go in and out of pool area with a hand stamp. Next to a large playground, restrooms (that need reno badly), bike paths and of course Stanley park. I am deducting a star for the state of restrooms and changerooms.
Great place to spend the day with the kids. You can bring chairs/shade tents to spend time poolside and get your hand stamped for in/out privileges. There is pay parking, a canteen, bathrooms and change rooms.
One of the greatest places on Earth... Beautiful BC!
It's one of the three outdoor pools in Vancouver. It has two lanes for swimming which is at the far North side of the pool. There is a shallow area for younger kids which is roped off from the deeper pool for confident swimmers to play. It's a nice place to visit in the summer and make a day out of it.
Great place!
To spend a family summer day!
The beach is really quiet, no big waves. A little rocky. Very crowded on weekends. Public restrooms. Big picnic areas with tables. Parking 3.50 cnd per hour. A lot of activities to do at Stanley park. Worth to spend a hole day at the park.
Im from Montreal, in Van for 10 days...just love this pool!!!! We sure dont have this in Montreal..and I wish we did..its wonderful, the place is clean and well organize with an amazing view of the ocean..and not to crowded!!!
Fun place to bring kids in the summer time. I've gone many times as a kid and as a teen with a group of friends, every time it's always been a full day of fun. Just go early to get a good spot
Best thing about Vancouver- even better than Kits Beach for swimmers who love serous swimming. They always have three 50 meter lanes roped off. Tiny lockers and a change room, albeit it s across the path and you have to negotiate through Park visitors lol
seriously COVID is the best time to go. Lots of open space and its super chill. Good luck getting a ticket through the City of Vancouver website tho... just show up 30 mins early and you'll get in for the next cycle.
What a lovely pool and in a stunning setting. Loved this place
Great outdoor pool - really big, very reasonable family rate. A nice place to spend a couple of hours on a sunny afternoon.
I have been coming here for years. The past couple of years I noticed the pool is starting to wear down. Needs makeover plenty of care for the amount of people that are coming here. Maybe the picnics picnic tables on the outside of the pool can have grill for BBQ adding to the overall experience
Amazing scenery! Nice pool, no shade though on sunny days can be a bit much for the kids.
Beyond extraordinary. Fun...playful for all like minded and serious swimmers alike. Close to everything...far enough away from any daily grind...an absolute gift to behold.
Pool is open and wasn't that busy today. Looks like people bring their own chairs for the pool deck. It's approximately $6/adult for a swim.
Big outdoor swimming pool right by the Second Beach with amazing ocean view. The pool is big enough for everyone even during the busiest times. Sometimes is hard to find a spot by the pool, but there is green area, too. Reasonable entrance fee. Concession stands are right next to the entrance and you can get decent food there.
Second beach pool has changed over the years but still has a good draw. It used to be a tidal pool that flushed out every night with the tide. Its now fresh water built on the side of the ocean. This is a hub for activity as all trails. Walking . biking. Rollerblading. Vehicle all pass through here. There is a concession stand and public washrooms. Full sun basically all day so great place to catch some rays or people watch. Don't forget the sunglasses
Great big outdoor pool with large, shallow kids area roped off so I felt safe with my 1 year old. Lockers available for valuables and a little bit of shade under the trees. There's always a nice breeze off the ocean and AMAZING views. Get a hand stamp to pop over to the beach side Cafe for lunch.
Covid precautions were perfect. Made the pool way less crowded.
The best outdoor swimming pool to chill out :) use the same "one card" as any other Vancouver public swimming pool
