This city in no way, shape or form incentivizes you to visit and spend money here. They simply hassle you everywhere you go and issue non justified parking tickets. Be prepared to be hassled or stay away and visit a more friendly city.
Why is the city of Tampa NEGLECTING wellswood park? 85 students from Mendenhall attend the after school program there, ALL the neighborhood children utilize that park... there are NO handicap parking spaces, they make the children stay in portables instead of fixing the church they bought that they were going to convert to a civic center and after school building. There are no lights to light the park up at night. The church is an eye sore and our neighborhood children are suffering. Ray park has RATS eating the food there and running around the children.... this is how you treat our communities children???? You put all this money into river walk and Curtis Hixson yet you neglect these two parks? SHAME ON YOU
They are talking about getting people moving and get people hired , it's all lies... i'm working on a project and the city of tampa construction division are making my life miserable with all kinds of BS rules and regulations...
Well, the traffic in Tampa is horrible...quite embarrassing actually. You are guaranteed to sit on all of the bridges for way too long since their horribly bumpy and well over-due for repaving roads cannot handle the amount of people trying to enter the city (nice planning). Once you get in the city, good luck not getting hit by a car on their poorly lit streets. The city dumps a lot of money into Bayshore Blvd and the rich areas and neglects the lack of sidewalks and bad roads elsewhere. Huge potholes, very bumpy roads and they do not seem to really care about that as poor money management limits them to providing smooth roadways and sidewalks (unless someone wealthy or powerful requests it). But, lots of restaurants and places to see...you would think from all of that revenue and taxes (on top of the new transportation tax) they would be able to have smooth roads and sidewalks but guess not. So...great food but hold your belongings in your car for their bumpy roads and watch out for pedestrians since they do not care about sidewalks and safety. Housing market seems good, maybe some new fresh minds and planning will help with the horrible traffic, horrible bumpy roads and years and years of backlogged sidewalk needs the city has. But hey, visit Bayshore...they get big sidewalks, freshly paved roads, every safety device and whatever else they want.
One of my favorite cities. Good memories were made here.
