City of Odessa Police Department Review

Called on a noise complaint, never came. It's now after midnight and people are still screaming and thumping their music. My son sad momma please tell them I'm trying to sleep, yea I Know son.

Twice. I have spoken to them and they have answered my questions well

Really disappointed in our Odessa police department

Clean vehicles, cops were happy to arrest me, they were gentle and courteous. The suv was clean to my surprise and the ac was cold. Hard plastic back seats , roomy tho. Was a great arrest, definitely will recommend.

Why does Odessa police department hire cowards who are afraid of a camera?

Having a 4 year old little girl I feel inclined to express my gratitude and deep appreciation for your recent arrests of more than 60 known dream killers and life destroyers. Otherwise known as " Operation Gauntlet". Thank you!! You have changed the possible future of many innocent lives. God Bless you All! This also includes FBI and Midland and anyone who helped catch these creeps! If we can post complaints shouldn't people also post gratitude and Thank our Officers for the posotive.?! Bet none of the complainers do.

The Police Department needs to undergo training on what the 1st Amendment is!

The way you "TYRANTS" act is why people don't trust you ,Don't forget that you so called officers work for the people not the big corps, I think it's time for we the people to pull your funding remove our tax dollars from criminal thugs like yourselves ,once you break your oath you are no longer a police officer you're a criminal who needs to be charged for "TREASON" and "TERRORIST ACTS". look up the word for "TERRORIST" you might learn something. I can't give zero stars forced to give at least 1.

I love the way they genuinely care about their community

They don't do property theft. Apparently that's for the landlord to handle.

Been here in the oilfield for awhile and havent seen one cop. 5 stars from me! Lol

I received a ticket for parking on my sidewalk near 11th St and Pueblo. I have been hit twice since parking in the street. I can count 5 cars right now sitting on the sidewalk and not one other person I have spoken to has received a ticket like this.

Your police officers trespassing someone out of the police dept for filming which is own by the PEOPLE is a Disgrace to ALL police all over the USA. Photography Is Not A Crime

Awesome! I was broke down on E42nd street Star Bucks. I geniusly drove down the street with electric keyfob on hood of car , this awesome very kind Officer helped me look for them . He did not have to do that but he took time in his crazy beat to drive me to last place and surrounding area. We never found they key , but its been on my mind all week.
I dont kniw what his name was, but who ever you are thankyou and God bless you for your kindness. God bless all who toe the line and other first reponders.

Love the Odessa Police Department, good folks that care about our City. With all the growing population in Odessa and been short on Manpower of the City ,I take my hat off to the Men and Women that risk there lives for the tens of thousands of residents of Odessa. I see alot of terrible remarks.Folks if you think you can handle what the OPS do as a job then go join and see if you can do better otherwise be glad that we have a few that will do what you are to lazy or scared to do. Good job OPD

Rude , bully behavior from police officers here . They act as if the are "The law" instead of like they are servants of the PEOPLE responsible for enforcing laws .. there's a big difference .

Starting to ticket boy racers. Color me impressed. In Australia they take your car and crunch it. Could use some of that here.

these fools are tools. They have no clue that video recording or taking photographs in a public place is legal. When police enforce laws THAT DO NOT EXIST.......they are fools.

My mom and stepdad got in an argument and the cops were called. I was in my room, waiting for them to come hear my side of the story or at least tell me what was going on. Few minutes later, cops were gone along with my mom and I had no clue. They arrested my mom without informing me or making sure I had somewhere to stay. I am a minor and I m pretty sure they re supposed to at least make sure I have somewhere to stay or at the very least tell me my mom got arrested. But nope. Not a single word to me about ANYTHING. They re unprofessional, bottom line.

I watched a YouTube video involving two Odessa police officers and it made me sick!
They ought to be ashamed!

I have never had trouble with the Police department, the few times i had to speak with a cop or the office they always been super Nice

My Autistic son got cornered by the cops this week on his bicycle in a residential area. They told him he failed to use hand signals, what your kidding, THAT WAS SN EXCUSE, they saw an abandoned truck and thought it was stolen, they question my son and try to ticket him on his bicycle! Anyways the truck belong to my neighbors. They left it on the street. Luckily the woman came out to say something OR MY SON WOULD OF GONE TO JAIL FOR NOTHING! My son doesn't get into trouble or say bad words, he was threaten and HARASSED! We need new cops these are racist!

One star because zero isn't an option. Officers of this department have demonstrated a mentality of ignorance of the law and are a failure as a public service organization. They stand behind one another in excuses and justifications of corruption and threaten violent criminal acts against citizens for not complying with unlawful orders.
This department, particularly its higher ranking officers (sergeants primarily) should be mandated refresher courses on public relations and that their "opinions" are not valid interpretation of law or even policy for that matter. It's okay if they dont know. They have a wide variety of resources at their disposal to find the answer. Action despite lack of knowledge is no excuse, right officers?

Both ladies I spoke to this morning were so kind and helpful. I'm still scared and they knew that and I cannot thank them and the OPD enough for caring enough about my safety. God bless you all!!

The Odessa Police are the lazyest and the most corrupt cops ever! The dispatchers are rude and don't care about their job's. And if you complain about the OPD it falls on deaf ears. Most of all the OPD DOES NOT CARE ABOUT PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES!

Just watched a YouTube video of Officer D. Neff throw out a citizen from the lobby of the Odessa Police Department under threat of arrest and criminal trespass for doing a completely legal act of videography. 1st amendment violation??? Odessa PD needs some serious training on how to interact with citizens engaged in legal activities. Completely atrocious.

Police came to my familys home and threatening to lock us up,about 6 different police officers this is not the first time either.

Not much a small town that gives out tickets as fast as. They can pull someone over. Whin I was a kid my friend and I we put into the back i was put into a cop car and told by the cops they had watched me try to break into a gas station the owner had broke out the window himself. They wonted to put me in jail for something i didn't do. Don't raise your kids in odessa. Raise hell there and raise your kids in midland.

Extrememly unhelpful. Front desk is rude, dismissive, and ignorant of the law.

My sons truck was stolen out of our driverway The police were prompt to respond and very kind and understanding when arriving. The officer quickly took our information and They were able to recover and process the vehicle within two hours. We were able to take possession of the vehicle within about three hours. We could not believe how quickly they were able to remedy the situation. I want to say thank you to our Law enforcement officers for their service. Your hard work does not go unnoticed

If I could give them zero stars I would. I called them twice today about someone shooting towards my house and no one ever showed up. Two bullets that I know of hit my home! I have a doorbell camera that records and you can hear bullets just flying by outside. Twenty minutes after I called them they were still shooting. If the cops would of shown up they would of heard the gun shots! Me my wife and my daughter had to take cover while on the phone with them both times! Who ever was shooting was shooting multiple rounds! It s been more then an hour and still no one has showed up still waiting for y all to show up while writing this review!!!!!!!!! But what can a review do! One of us could ve been killed!!!!!

Poor public presence, poor response time, indifferent officers, and crimes are seldom solved. Fairly poor effort all around. The city should be embarrassed.

Just seen a video of how this police department interacts with some members of the public who wish to express their 1st amendment rights to film. It's disgusting to see how they react. I'm shocked and disappointed at the police officers behaviour. Shame on them all. This must come from the top down. This kind of behaviour is nation wide and will only get worse as time goes on.

I've had a 16ft trailer, 2015 HD Dyna stolen and many other things and every year OPD calls me to see if I found my stuff yet! Go figure you pay there wages and have to do there job to!

Many officers of this department clearly need retraining when it comes to trespassing on public property. The officers involved in the video I witnessed need to be educated on what is loitering and what isn't, FYI, filming public employees from a public space isn't loitering. Their actions are a failure for not only their community but for police departments in general as their attitude continues to grow the disconnect between society and the police in general. Very disappointing....

I am writing this review because earlier today I had a cop tail me, about 2 ft behind my vehicle, for about 7 miles. I do not unserstand what his purpose was. Every thing I have and do is legal. Which after the first couple miles he knew that after running my info. I felt as tho he was trying to make me nervous so I would make a mistake while driving. N that bothers me. I do not believe this is right n I feel like its just intimidation. If anyone was to follow behind me that close for that long it would bother me. Anyone!! I understand they have a job to do but please be mindful guys n girls of the OPD that we r all just the same as y'all. We r all people!! How would y'all like it if we tailed behind y'all for miles? I hate writing bad reviews on officers because I do respect y'all and what y'all do. But tailing for no reason just to make somone nervous enough to make a mistake while driving is very WRONG and is a big distraction while driving. The officers here feel that their power is more important than the constitution of the united states. They would trespass someone from public property just for taking video. The courts have ruled that filming government officials in the course of their duties to be lawful and cannot be deemed suspicious to give reason for contact. The officers of this department need to be investigated for rights violations.

I was recently in town with my family and my son received a ticket at 2nd and Grant for not having his turn signal on in the left hand turn lane. I am amazed that your town is so hard up for money that you ticket for such a thing. I have been in a left hand turn lane before and turned my signal off because it is so loud. If you are in a group of cars in the left hand turn lane....what else would you be going to do. Get a grip...

I want to appreciate Odessa texas police department. They are so helpful and kind. My Semi Truck was Stuck in black ice and snow So Cops helped us to move over from odessa texas. Thank you

As a tax payer, I am very upset with the lack of professionalism that characterizes this organization. OPD, you guys can do better!

Only giving one star because you can't give zero. They are a joke. SERVE and protect? These people couldn't catch a cold. So many bad experiences, I'd have to write a book.
