City of Chicago Department of Finance Review

I recieved a Redlight Violation in error not my car complety different make and model tags were hard to read on that vehicle so I got a ticket because the city thought it was us. I called to dispute stating I live in the West Suburbs and was not on Cermak. The agent said due to Covid 19. I still had time to send in legitimate documentation as proof.
I emailed my Title and and Registration to the city and they responded you took to long.
I was then sent a $200 invoice (really)
I work in healthcare and worked throughout this Pandemic and you tell me you dont care about the facts pay The City of Chicago for their error.
Absolutely unprofessional and unreasonable for any institution to be managed taking money from innocent people

Got a ticket for having back plate on window because screws were broken and I couldn t put it back. I contested the ticket but no answer. Called and there s no record of contest but the fees doubled. Corruption at its finest.

Unsophisticated impolite staffs are sitting at the front desk while wasting our time and money of taxpayers.

Very long lines people at windows talking to each other moving slow ask a question omg you get a ride answer exp you got to get in line when you just want to ask a question to make sure your in the right line or right place or to make sure you have right documents everybody that works there is so rude

Chicago can t afford to let property taxes weigh down its economy. And politicians can t afford to ignore growing public resentment over excessive property taxes. Residents are selling there properties and leaving. Chicago needs to learn to manage its finances instead of constantly asking for more.

Paid my meter and got a ticket for parking by a hydrant which I was not near. They stole $150 from me. What an awful system we have!

Contested a ticket via mail with a letter and photos, sent in envelope with tracking showing delivered five weeks ago. Heard NOTHING back. Ridiculous! I will do everything I can to stay out of this city.

The City of Chicago is a fraud. I Was given a tickets while sitting in my car , the stupid women officer Chavez who is Meter enforcer, claimed that she didn t see me in the car. The weather that day was foggy, I told her that I was on my phone listening to music waiting for my mother. She got mad because I wasn t going to take the ticket so she just threw it into my car and walked off. So I called and made a complaint to the city, they told me to write a letter stating that I was not at fault. Three weeks later Judge Alfred Quijano found that violation had occurred. Now they claim that I should file a suit against them for $50 that they don t deserve Chicago is on bs.

very rude you ask a question and they answer a different thing how can the lady work there

Long-long-long lines,. Elderly people, disabled people, sick, parents w/infants,. Get ready to stand in line up to 2 hours. Insufficient personnel? Bad system? No one in authority cares, feel bad for the clerks who suffer with the public. If this is the best they can do they're incompetent. Love hearing the mayor talk about "values".

I paid the ticket online. I called to verify the payment as I realized that payment had not been deducted from account after more than a week. The lady refused to listen to what I was saying, but I remained patient and calm.
I attempted to find out what may have happened, and she rudely tells me to call my bank(which I had already done). Then, she hung up. If the ticket cost me 2.00, I might give them a pass...this is ridiculous!!

While there is a line out the door the wonderful ladies of department of finance had a conversation about coffee

Gave me a ticket for parking at a fire hydrant but had no pictures to prove I did so. Gave me a ticket for reuse of resident parking permit but had no proof if it was reused or not. Etc. this city just wants to take everyone money.

The city of Chicago itself is disgusting and the people working in this building are just like the city. Very unprofessional and useless!

When I tried to do the right thing and pay for a red light ticket the website said error with my payment so I used a different card and it said accepted. When I checked my credit card bank statement the payment had gone through so I was CHARGED TWICE! Ofcourse i ll be calling my bank and report it fraud. But BEWARE OF GLITCHY WEBSITE!!!!!!!!!!!

Unspeakable corruption. Issued me a parking ticket with my wrong license plate # by one letter. Instead of deleting the ticket, just issued me another with the correct license plate #. Tried to get me to pay ticket twice, and refused to provide photo proof when asking for citation evidence.

The employees are not there to assist the people and they have a attitude for doing so

How do I get a ticket from Chicago when I was not in the city that night? I live in the NW suburbs and was home with my NEWBORN. People are super rude WHEN they answer.... THIS PLACE IS RIDICULOUS! CORRUPTION AT ITS BEST

Why do you boot a car on Friday night when most offices are closed on Saturday!! It it so you can tow the car on Sunday and the city get more money?

Inability to receive a payement from the customers.

This place oozes corruption. Incompetent staff simply gives you boilerplate answers. Refused my online dispute and made me do it by mail but also refused to give me a copy of my original dispute so I have to do it all over again. You have to use a stamp to send it in! These people harass and burden the people they are supposed to be serving.

Judge Ginger Mance is an unfair, dishonest, judge, who looks for every reason to place the burdon from the City (where it should be) and instead places it on the citizen. She bullys pro-se litigants and goes out of her way to be a good advocate for the City of Chicago, even while pretending to be impartial.

It would not surprise me if I found out she was taking bribes from the City of Chicago. Unprofessional, rude, and unable to apply the law with any sense of justice.

Cabbies are the ones suffering the most from this corrupt building it's construction was made out of cabbies dollars once you get a ticket forget it they will always find you guilty!!!!! You will always have to pay money in order to get out! Shame on city of Chicago and the lawyers over there pretending to help you they are there just to take your money NEVER HIRE A LAWYER ALWAYS FIGHT THE CASE BY YOURSELF!!! THIS PLACE DOESN'T BELONG ON EARTH LET ALONE A STAR!!!!!!

Visited from out of state and they wrote me a ticket for no front plate ( which is legal in my home state). Tried to explain it to an employee over the phone and they were as rude as possible, They make the process so difficult to deal with that you have no choice but to pay it. Then i tried to pay only to find out their website is garbage and wont except debt card payments. Starting to get why everyone is bailing out of this Corrupt state.
