Great selection of beer. Tent City offers several of their own brews, the Imperial Red is awesome. They also have a rotating selection of other craft beers. Staff is nice and helpful, atmosphere is chill and relaxing during the day, picks up weekend nights. They offer crowlers of their own beer to take on the go.

Tent City is offering up the best beers in San Luis Obispo County. I know what I said. I m well aware of Firestone and SLO Brew and Central Coast Brewing (and others). They make phenomenal beers. One of them is my favorite beer. But Tent City consistently delivers beers that are true to style while at the same giving flavors that are complex and memorable. They are the type of beers that speak for themselves - no hype needed, no additional flavors irresponsibly added in, no marketing scheme. Just that quiet beer that once you get to know rewards you for discovering it. And all of their beers are like this. True to style, yet unique to Tent City. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be their Red. Hands down, the best Red ale I ve ever had, and when I give it to my friends that are beer knowledgeable, they readily agree.
Fun little space in downtown Atascadero. My favorite time to go is afternoon or early evening. It s less crowded, and I feel I can enjoy my beers a little more (weekend nights can get crowded and noisy).
Parking in back, but also room along El Camino out front. They also have crowler and growler options, which is great for taking on the go.
Place is freindly and fast service, you can also bring your friendly dogs, they have a outside area in front ,there are often musicians playing g on the weekend .
If you're in the mood for a cold one and some congenial conversation with a friend, head over to Tent City Beer. The garden out back has just the right ambience, altho during Covid times you have to pay $2 for chips and salsa snack, but the beers are good. I supped on Mosaic Pale Ale, and my wife sipped an Atascadero Mule. Perfect evening

Right now they are not taking COVID seriously. When the inside is packed, nobody is wearing a mask including the bar tender who snickered when he saw us with masks on.
Luckily after we were served the outside the new back patio was pretty empty so it was easy to social distance.
They have a great outdoor eating area in the back with a food truck. Delicious sandwiches and seltzers.

Will never go back. 1st time here, we walked in & were never waited on. The waitresses were drinking beer & talking on the phone never once did they even acknowledge us. Wasn't going to give this business a dime of my money. Won't be recommending this place to family or friends.
