This place is such a gem for Jefferson County! Love the indoor pool and toddler swim classes and then my family got an outdoor pool swim pass and it's like a water park!! Can't say enough good things about this center!

Overall, the facility is wonderful. We have been members here for years! Very clean environment, never a battle for a machine in the gym, fun events throughout the year, and great workout classes... Especially the boot camp class (fun and rewarding!). However, we will not be renewing our membership due to the outrageous hike in annual fees. The new membership package that most closely reflects our existing has nearly doubled (and we're Arnold residents)! I already pay a fee for boot camp, add that on top of the new annual fee... Doesn't make sense economically. After our membership expires I will pay the non-member fee for boot camp and forego renewing our membership. It's simply not worth it. I have a feeling Arnold Rec is going to break even on its bottom line instead of see an increase in profits as they will be losing a LOT of membership.

On another note, I also want to take this time to comment on the swim lesson class. The third-party lifeguard group that hosts this class is not proficient with (and shouldn't be) handling children younger than 3. We enrolled my son (just over 1 at the time) hoping to learn water safety as stated on the class spec sheet. There were no water safety lessons, just water exposure and age appropriate exercises. Most alarming of all, I watched a child close to my son's age put in danger. During "slide time" one of the lifeguards sent this poor little girl down the slide without waiting for her parent to get around to the bottom to catch her. The little girl is okay, she was only submerged unattended for a brief moment as her father was not far behind, but oh my goodness, that was terrifying!

DO NOT take your toddler here for GROUP lessons!!!!!!
If you are looking to get swimming lessons for a 2-3 year old, look somewhere else. my daughter was in group lessons for 2 days and I pulled her from the class due to lack of instructors. there were 2 instructors for 15 children which is absolutely absurd for 3 year olds that can't swim on their own. my daughter sat on the side of the pool for 30 minutes of the 45 "class". she jumped in once and rode a pool noodle for 15 seconds and that's what you pay for. my 2 year old daughter went under water, where she could not touch, without either instructor noticing for 15 seconds because there were just too many kids. safety comes first when it comes to my daughter and I definitely did not feel that she was safe in this class. oh and if you want a full refund after a day, you can forget about it. They tried to prorate the 2 days from the 2 week class, which is absolutely amazing that they think sitting on a wall is a class. there is so much more to the story but I think you get the gist of it.

I love all the services that they offer in addition to the gym and pools. The rec center staff is nice and helpful. I love that we can utilize resources at this facility year round. I also love that they have a new monthly payment option since life happens sometimes and there are months where we don't go, now I don't feel like we're wasting money paying for something we're not using.

One of the best amenities of the City of Arnold is their Rec Center. Workout room, indoor pool, outdoor pool, basketball courts, and more. A wonderful and appropriately done 9/11 Memorial is outside. The library is a walk down the hall. There is a Wonderful Shakespeare production held every summer at the end ofJune & beginning of July.

Great community center for Arnold residents and visitors. They have a constant offering of programs throughout the day and week. Walking track is free to use even if you don't have a membership. It is short but usable especially for days the weather is not great. There is an indoor and outdoor pool, gym, weight and cardio machines, and rooms for specific uses.

The indoor pool and recreation center is very nice. However, the outdoor pool area is definitely lacking. A nice place for younger kids to swim or those just wanting to wade in water to stay cool.

Meh. The pool was great, but the problem was no one heard thunder and some random guy said I thought I just heard thunder so they made us get out. We just got in the pool and did not even make one lap around the lazy river and we had to get out. I only heard thunder 10 minutes after they made us get out of the pool. Food though is good. Then inside the center online they said they the indoor pool was open till 9:00 and they said only till 4:00 , but the pools are good.

The slide rules in the shallow area don t make any sense, the little ones are only allowed to go in dark creepy blue tunnel that they have to lay down for while water sprays in their eyes but aren t allowed to go down big wide open yellow slide they can easily go down. Both end up in same height of water, about one foot. PLEASE EXPLAIN THAT TO ME!

We have had multiple birthday parties and pool days here as a family. Only reason I won't give 5 stars, there's a chunk of the world trade buildings on display. Which only had the names of the people who bought it on a plaque. There's 2996 names which might be a little more important.

Fun place to swim/play. No big lap pool, but who cares, there are slides, kids splash pad, lazy river and a slide that looks like its straight out of an amusement park. Folks were friendly, food was cheap and restrooms were clean. We will be back.
