City mission of Schenectady is the greatest to anyone in need. Mike Secotia has the biggest heart and he's very personable just all around a great guy Merry Christmas and God bless the City mission of Schenectady.

Cash grab Christian organization. Administration is phony and plays favorites. For what is supposed to be a Christian organization that accepts all with open arms it seems to be the opposite. It is more about money than following God or helping the community. For instance chaplain classes they have a habit of not letting people graduate, even though they have done public works and paid for classes, attended everyone as well. If they don't like you personally or you do not fit their textbook definition of the clean-cut Christian you are denied and cast out like a leopard. The higher-ups forgot the teachings of God "He who is without sin shall cast the first stone" or "For the body does not consist of one member but of many." Maybe they should read the book they preach.

They have always treated me kind n with respect.. They give out great suggestions for all kinds of help needed in the community and food is always never a problem for them to give out at any time. They are good hearted ppl

This place is one of the best run organizations EVER.

First you have to understand that the residents here have many issues of themselves, apart from this; is a great place to give back to the community, if you're into that.

Terrible, they wouldn't let my cousin stay. Hes homeless and had nowhere to go!

The City Mission is a great place it helps so many people who truly need the help. If you go out and you have clothes that you can donate and you see the City Mission boxes please donate to those they are truly helping the city the other boxes not so much City Mission is the way to go please donate to the City Mission you will find that your donation goes much further in the City Mission than it does any other place. And I have no affiliation at all with the city City Mission at all.

This place helps many people daily,saving lives with life enhanced programs,love the spiritual vines when I'm helping out

Wonderful place nice clean staff is excellent no stealing clean showers excellent food, this is a place that I would recommend to anyone that is not doing well.. your well-being is a top priority here...

The love and devotion you receive from staff here is above anything I have ever encountered before. My life has completely changed since entering the front door 6 months ago as a battle scarred human being. They will lift you up and remind you how to shine!

City Mission has proven that it exists to meet the needs of the poor in a manner that dignifies and strengthens the individual, the family, and the community. They do a suburb job at helping people who are IN poverty, and to help people get OUT of poverty, and to help people STAY out of poverty.

It's always a blessings to serve your community with love.

It will be my very first time at the City Mission. This will be my new experience for me, to see what it will be like there. A man there give me a sandwich in a lunch bag there.

It's alright it would be better if this pandemic is not going on

We spend time volunteering here, and I can attest that they have the best chicken soup in Schenectady. I would challenge any local restaurant to even come close.

They help the the community they provide for the homeless and the unfortunate they give prayers before the meal and help with clothing and other things that people need I give them 50 stars

These people do such good work. They care well for the less fortunate of the city. As an ems provider they have always showed people we are caring for great compassion

Provides excellent community service for those down and out. Great staff who go above and beyond to help those less fortunate. I'll be back to volunteer again soon.

Certain staff shouldnt reject people that come through those doors.You dont need to be a resident of the mission to get a plate of food.I was polite and was given the run around for just a plate of free food that our tax payers of our country pay for

The kitchen crew is upbeat and a pleasure to work with. They do an important job and do it well. Hope to keep supporting for a long time to come.

This place saved me I was homeless and pregnant when I came in and waiting for my husband to get out of the hospital so he could be on the boys side of the mission I was going through so much still am now but certain staff and residents were there for me and really helped me through it all and its thanks to certain staff I finally have an apartment so I can live with my husband and not be separated from him the rules may drive me crazy cuz there are so many but I can't thank who helped me enough

Before my first visit to the City Mission, I had no idea how much they did for God, for people, and for the city of Schenectady. They pour their hearts into the men and women that come to this sanctuary in their most desperate hour. Lives changed for the better.

Always very helpful for people in need of work clothes that cant afford it at the moment

This is truly a great place to get a hot meal thats free and tasty excellent service by wonderful volunteers ,you are treated like family here.

They definitely provide a great service to the community with their free meals which are open to all. I'm not sure though if they are as welcoming of non-Christian individuals when it comes to shelter services.

What they accomplish should be replicated in every city of America

Thank you for the harvest and occasional meal too. Not sure why makes being not accepted and mainly sent to Albany even Albany is more crowded place. Anyways, good job and volunteers too.

So few places for homeless people. This shelter is 1 of only 2 in the Capital District.
The last I knew they only take women.

We need large homeless shelters in every city. There are 10s of thousands of homeless in the capital district.

You see them everywhere. They are just standing around all day, sleeping on the streets every night

Every winter we have dozens of Bumsicels

Every spring the cities go around picking up the bodies from the alleys and lots

It is depressing, like we are a 3rd world country
