When we moved here 12 years ago, we did NOT expect to find the best barbecue we'd ever had. But City is! It's totally spoiled us with bbq. My wife travels a lot and eats bbq whenever possible - even Kansas City & St Louis aren't better - they're very good, but not better.

I eat at this city bbq about twice per month. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and patient when I order. The food always tastes excellent!
Never been there on an early Saturday and they've run out of ribs, pulled pork and turkey.....

Restaurant was very busy. But it's always worth it. Was there for my birthday dinner. One of us had the smoked turkey salad always delicious. Ida sandwich with fries yum.
I ate here with my son and his girlfriend after the OSU game Saturday and as soon as I walked through the door I thought of Angelos in Ft Worth, Texas.....my favorite BBQ of all time. While sitting there I noticed a sign pointing to Angelo's with the number of miles to that sovereign Texas BBQ joint LBJ used to frequent when they had a straw floor. I thought the food was great and I will definitely return. I had a sandwich with potato Salad and Mac and Cheese, and although it was good, I think I will go for the BBQ entre without the sandwich next time because the "More Cowbell" sandwich had too many other things on it covering up the Savory beef brisket. I give them a 4 just to leave room for improvement but I don't have any suggestions because it was great.
Good spot for bbq. entered near ten, it was not crowded. the service was very welcoming and sociable.
They have excellent brisquet and they are cafeteria style. It's always clean and cozy.

Chicken was under cooked. The ribs were overcooked dry and hard.
Visiting from Philadelphia and was recommended this restaurant. It was soooooooo good i went back the beth next day. From the brisket to the ribs the food was excellent, the staff was friendly and accommodating I too highly recommend this spot for some off the best bbq you'll ever have!

The pulled chicken is amazing! They also have the best banana cream pudding. Just like down south.
Called and asked if they had ribs. They said yes we do, we aren't out. Hit place order and paid for order. Online, Went to pick up order and guess what!! No ribs!!! They replaced with other meat. No phone call saying sorry we are out after my order was placed. Called and spoke to a manager that was rude about it. She said and I quote, we run out of ribs everyday...ok then why aren't you cooking more? I'll find a new BBQ place that can actually have ribs when you order them. Don't trust the call center as the manager said takes the phone calls.

Ate here to support a charity event. I'm not a lover of BBQ food but really enjoyed the food I ordered. I dont think the portions are superb for the money but they are high in flavor.
The food was AMAZING!!! The original BBQ sauce was great, but didn't need it because the meat was very tender, flavorful, moist, and fresh on its own! We got one of the large sampler meals and shared, then took over half that was left, home. This may be My new favorite spot to go in Columbus.
Average ribs, good chik, fatty brisket,expensive sides. Great friendly service. Price increases pretty monumental.
Their brisket it's to die for! I'm just sorry they don't keep brisket chili on the menu year round.

Hands down the best beef brisket in town. No others compare. And there freshly brewed sweet tea makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. The staff are always kind and helpful and seem like they are having fun.
You won't leave hungry.

I like City Barbeque. In my humble opinion City is the best barbeque in central Ohio and I have tasted them all. My favorite is the brisket. Despite it being a tough cut it is cooked until very tender. Huge orders of fries! Jalapenos, pickles, and onions along wirh your choice of many sauces. I usually stick with the brisket but the other meats are equally good. The meat comes out of the smoker and is cut and served. It does not sit under a heat lamp. Highly recommended.
We've ate at City Barbeque both times we've visited Columbus and will definitely again next time we're there.
These guys are it when it comes to a BBQ chain restaurant! I went in for lunch and they were crowded but not slow at all, the sign of a great restaurant. I got a City Lunch Plate and it was under $7 coming with a sandwich and two hearty sides. Can't wait to go back

My favorite City BBQ in Columbus because of the atmosphere and the food is always makes perfectly. Love the pulled pork, and I get the creamy coleslaw and corn pudding is SO good! Always happy when the patio is open and I can enjoy the outdoors with my food!
Love the smell of wood smokers. City BBQ has been a lunch staple for me for 12 years, especially for the smaller lunch plate.
Didn't like the chicken seemed under cooked to me .
Let's start with the good stuff. The sauces are amazing!! All of them are very good and they sell them so that's a big plus. Another good thing is the atmosphere. It's a really nice place and it feels like you are in a wooden cabin, really nice and makes the experience more complete.
Now the not so good stuff. Unfortunately the brisket was dry and it was at room temperature. I don't know if it was because I went on a saturday night but it looked like it was sitting there for a time before they served it, like "the last batch" of the day. Because of that, I couldn't really experience the flavor and smokiness.
Another bad thing is that the lady at the register and the one delivering the orders seemed like they were having a long bad day, not a little smile and they were not very nice.
They had a ton of orders and were short staffed, but, their attitude was great!! Keep up the good work and great food!
Ohh man, the food is really good! Price also helps. Service is always good and with a smile. Ask for a More Cowbell, or two :).
Also try the turkey on Thanksgiving (needs reservation), you will not regret.

Ribs were not cooked well, not sure if they were too busy to cook it all appropriately, but it was pretty bad. I liked how it came out at a different location, but not here.
The food is a 5, but the price is a 3. One sandwich and 2 sides is over $10 before you order a drink. At $7.50, I'd give it a 5.

I believe this is their first location ever! The place is decent sized and pretty clean. The food takes like no time to come out and is hot! The employees were pretty friendly but they forgot my chicken wing for my meal. There's a decent variety of sauces to choose from and I wish you could choose something different than what they have for the pulled chicken sandwich. One of the better locations I've been to for sure!
Anyone that knows me needs to know I wish my final meal to be more cowbell with baked beans and corn pudding. Iced Arnold Palmer for a food coma release into the after life. Thank you in advance for fulfilling my last rites
