Cimarrone Golf Club Review

Fairways needto be cut. Greens need a little help but coming around.

Had a horrible and unprofessional experience with the owner of the course. If you've been there before, there is a barn at the end of the driving range which I was accused for purposely aiming for and putting his workers at risk. I however did not come close to hitting the barn as there was 10+ other golfers on the range at the time, but was blamed out of everyone on the range. The "owner" rolled up on his cart and started cussing me out and throwing F bombs in front of everyone including minors. I have not been there in quite some time (over a year) because of the condition of the course which has improved since the last time I've been there. But, you're better off playing at South Hampton right across the street for a better experience and course.

I am rating this 1-star based on the way I and my group was treated that day. I called the General Manager and expressed my feelings but I doubt I will get a call back from the owner with an apology.

I would rate the condition of the course 2/5 as it has improved but speed of play has always been the same (5+ hours).

Very good golf course, lots of water. Not easy but nice.

Played twice this week in prep for a fundraiser tournament. It rained a lot last week, so when I played Sunday, it got a pass from me since they couldn't cut the grass, but I played a few days later on Friday and it wasn't in any better condition. The fairways and greens are in terrible shape. So much damage to the greens and it looks like your putting on a nascent cabbage patch or on spinach. Fairways and tee boxes have been beat up. Sand/seed mixture all over the tee area. Per fairways, I'm not sure if they qualify as fairways because the grass quality is so not up to par for how fairways are measured. It would be such a nice track if they maintained it, but I've seen muni courses kept up better than this place. There are better options out there.

Good test of your skills. Water on every hole. Course was in very hood condition.

Nice staff, good prices. A tough course with lots of water on every hole but 2. Being a hack golfer, I lost a lot of balls that day.

Best track around Jax I've played anyway. Fast cosistant greens. Keep it in the fairway. It challenges you to water every hole but 2. Great service in the clubhouse. Awesome practice facilities. Worth every penny.....and some

Frustrating how you hardly get a cart girl when on the course (before covid). They are all super nice though.

Great golf for afternoon. Reasonably priced and great course. Play every weekend and it's always fun. Brought my son and they charged him 15 and he's 8 so a bit overpriced on kids in my opinion.

Fun course. Coming in there's 2 par 5's back to back. Lots of water. Great layout with memorable holes. My name for the 18th hole. "Scorecard wrecker."

You will love playing this course! It's a beatufil course and the greens are always in great shape. It's one of the most forgiving courses in all of Northeast Florida. It's also one of the best bangs for your buck! They just spent millions of dollars on a brand new driving range, practice facilities and putting greens. Have Fun!

Rough is a little much but everything else is great

The greeting I have from the club was exceptional.

I was paired with a couple of members Michael and Sherry and what an awesome day everybody was so polite and nice I wanted to stay, However I could not as I was traveling through I recommend this golf course to anybody that is visiting Jacksonville Florida it is a challenging course great people and make sure you say hello to Peggy in the Pro Shop five stars just for her!

Beautiful layout and it was in good shape but the greens are a combination of rock hard and super slow. Spent the day bouncing wedges off the green.

The course was in good shape, greens were excellent however the course does have a lot of water but I found it enjoyable and very playable

The worst playing expierence i have ever had. We were following a slow 4some that would not let us play through and one 2 hole were shot into by the group behind us. No starter or ranger to assist if you are a lower handicap golfer stay as far away as possible. I play 4 times a week with a 3 handicap. Stay away

Honestly, we almost didn't go play here on my visit to Nocatee, only because the website looked outdated. But I have to say, I am glad we did!!! The website does not do this course justice. It was a very fun layout with plenty of variety, lots of water to make it challenging and work up your nerves to hit a good shot, and nice staff. Masks are required in the clubhouse, with up to 2 people inside to pay at a time, which is more than fair, and safe for the current times.
Highly recommend...and hit em straight! Accuracy over distance in the front 9.

I've been playing there off and on for 18 years. The course is in the best condition ever. They've really got it together.

Great course..the problem...pace is horrible..last three times I've played not been able to finish..Sunday 8:50 tee time and it took 3 hours to make the turn.. unacceptable..but nice course ,

Truly the best golf experience we ve ever had. Mr. Jerry is so generous with his time and resources with these kids. My son has come so far since playing here. We couldn t be more grateful.

We went out to hit some balls on the driving range and visited the clubhouse first for drinks. We were late so Jerry went and got us a bucket of balls. We were also sent home with delicious tacos from the kitchen!!! We enjoyed chatting with Jerry and the members before heading out. We will be back!! Great food, great service, great atmosphere!

Great coarse for a good price. One of the cheaper around. Almost always in good shape

Good track with a lot of water and sand! Greens were a little bumpy but the ball rolls true.

Was pretty backed up but had a good round. The greens were sub par but not in the good sense. The fish sandwich was surprisingly good.

This is a challenging layout and makes you hit most clubs in your bag. The condition has improved and the pace of play is usually very good

I golf all around North FL and South GA. We played at the whites and they paired us up with players at the tip. We later let them played thru. We were also behind a 3some group of ladies, all with their own cart. I brought Gatorade with me and got yelled out with no outside beverages. It's not worth it unless there is a groupon or tournament.

Enjoyed the course, well manicured, fair greens.
Will definitely be back.

Great round of golf. Beautiful course. Fantastically planned and woven throughout the natural landscape.

If you haven't played Cimarone it is in excellent shape. The rough and fairways are in great shape and the greens are in the best shape I've seen in a long time. Rates are very fair and always a friendly and great round. Thank you very much to the new owners and wonderful staff.

This is the worst course I have experienced
1. A guy yelled at me and it is a nightmare other players told me he is always playing there. Horrible experience need a serious apology from the manager.
2. Their employee is hiding every truth about what I experienced and after I wrote my review they taged me "you will have no business" this is not what I wish to hear.
3. I don't really feel any warm service unlike other golf course that everyone is warm and polite.
4. Some other players comes to me and tell me this course is always like this.
5. I tried hard to be as polite as possible.

Great course with friendly welcoming atmosphere. A private course that non-members can book through GolfNow. Beautiful layout, I highly recommend this over world golf village courses.

Course is in great shape. Slow service in the restaurant, but the food was good.

Good course! Greens were rough looking but ran true!

The course is in great shape, the challenge is keeping it in the fairway,because if you miss by 2 ft, your in rough above your ball. Very tough to get aclean hit ,w/ that much grass behind your ball,but that's why we play. We are not supposed to miss the fairway! I'm going to continue playing there untill I get it right! Cimmorne is a true test, play itand find out! I'm going back next week! Greens are true!!!!

Greens a little slow but complete course in great shape. Excellent value.

Ridiculously slow play. Waiting on slow groups in front and the group behind actually hit balls at my groups feet. No ranger or starter to enforce rules or pace of play. Unless you have 6 hours to play. Do not even bother going to this course.

Very nice place to play a round of gold, I think it was only $30 on a weekday!

Nice course, fair driving range pricing, but the practice deck needs a fair amount of work.

Surprised, it was pretty good. Course conditions have improved greatly. Greens were SLOW but had grass. Not a bad day at all at the wild one

Played today and it s a fair layout. I enjoyed it. Condition was pretty good compared to my last visit MANY years ago. Greens were slow but in good shape...just slow, not bad at all. Tough layout away from the fairway. A lot of water around the course but it s pretty avoidable with good shots. Pricing is very fair...overall a very good and surprising value. Will return soon.

Cimarrone is a great layout, but it is not a good golf experience. The greens were not maintained this spring and are now baked. The pace of play is not monitored and is out of control.

Great layout and condition. Greens are consistent and fairways are well defined and cut. No blind shots but water in play on most holes. Good overall condition and friendly and helpful staff. Made me feel welcome and placed me a good group of players. Fun course.

This is definitely a challenging course where water is really in play on many holes. Take plenty of balls if you dont hit straight. I enjoyed playing the course though and the staff were friendly. Practice facilities were good as was lunch. I would have given 4 stars but they had just spiked the greens which made them slow and bumpy. It made putting a bit of a lottery. Overall experience though was positive and would play the course again.

Beautiful golf course with great rates after 3p. If you can t hit your drive straight, you re going to lose a lot of balls.

Beware. My college age son had an iron stolen in the time it took to walk from the driving range to the first hole and back, when he realized he left it. So much for golf etiquette

Really enjoyed my round here and for the price, it's an amazing golf experience. There is alot of water on this course, so definitely bring your precise A game and long irons. Fairways are in great condition. The greens roll well and with the exception of about 2-3 greens having a couple bumps in them, they play tough and fast. I will definitely play this course again. Solid location!

We had a lunch meeting, the menu and food was very good. Great touch linens on the tables. The servers are friendly and know the menu well. As an added bonus they serve PEPSI!
