Cimarrone Golf Club Review

This is a challenging course but the condition was fabulous. They have Rangers on front and back nine. Greens were great. Stayed for Friday evening dinner at the clubhouse which was delicious !

This golf club was trash starting with the customer service, the organization of the club, the mix and matched inconsistent and poorly gripped golf clubs, and also to the dead and spotty greens through all 18 holes. I have played golf for a while and I always like to check out new courses and this was one of the worst rounded experiences I ve had. Being from out of town I needed to pickup a set of rental clubs and they had a dozen sets of them in a closet but handed me one and then quickly closed it. When I got out to my cart, the elderly cart man was condescending to me and my foursome acting like we weren t experienced golfers or paying customers. When we pulled clubs out of our rental sets, we see that nearly all the grips were dried out and chalky or shredded up with the fuzz all over them- absolutely unacceptable. The greens were dry and and inconsistent, tee boxes were shot, and there was no cart service around the course. If a gator had come out of one of their water hazards and eaten all of their staff personnel, that would be a solid first step for this course to take.

Nice layout. If played from correct tees it is a fair course, reward good shots & not overly penalizing miss hits, but duly punishing errant shots. Great friendly staff, good lunch. Great pace of play (3:45), never waited on a shot. Only reason not 5 stars was greens were still recovering from aerating & sand (which we knew when booking).

Great layout with good golf. Greens were below the standards that they had been earlier in the year. Weed infestation.

Top notch golf. Reasonably priced and a great set of holes. We saw a couple of Gators. There's water on every hole so don't take it too seriously.

We had my 40th birthday at Cimarrone. 24 Golfers/ 2 rounds. We played 18 in the morning at Cimarrone, had lunch there then went across the street to play another 18 at South Hampton.

Tiffany(Director of Marketing and Tournaments) did a fantastic job coordinating the event. From communication to prepping her staff. It was top notch. The food was fantastic- everyone got a Burger or a Club and everyone said they were great. Fries were really good too. We had a side room and most the patio. I plan on hosting another event at Cimarrone.

Good staff...good course..greens are average compared to rest of experience.

Be ready to lose a ton of balls if you have a slice! This is a great course but there is water everywhere!!

Great golf course. Very challenging. Only complaint is that lots of people don't repair divots and ball marks.

Friendly staff prices reasonable the fairways could be better and some tee boxes also cut the rough cant find my damn ball lol

Great community. My family loves golfing here. We enjoy going to the club house for weekend breakfast and a delicious dinner as well.

It's been a while since I've played Cimarrone, but I'm glad I went back. Course is in GREAT shape. Staff was friendly and helpful. The course does have it's fair share of water...but it just adds to the character. No two holes are alike... well worth your time and money

I have lived in Jacksonville for 5 years now and played this course countless times. Unfortunately I must leave a review after these most recent experiences. The course is in horrendous shape, tee boxes are filled with dirt and sand, fairways patchy, greens are some of the absolute worst I ve ever played.

Again, I have played this course countless times and can confidently say I will not be returning. Pace of play was unbelievably slow, literally sitting and waiting on nearly every hole and then having groups ride up on us with zero respect when teeing off.

To think that this course is $50 per round and in this shape is truly embarrassing. I do not recommend anyone to come here to play a round for anymore than $20. I ve played city courses in many cities in far better condition. If you re considering playing here, save yourself and play across the street at South Hampton or up the street at St Johns.

I played this course yesterday. The fairways have not been maintained. On the front 9, there was little difference between the rough and fairways. On the turn, the fairways were being mowed but the clippings were so heavy, the ball had no roll. Also, too many moguls on every hole, Ridiculously high rough for amateur play. Too difficult to find the ball and advance it when it was found.

Bad golf course. Cimmarone has gone down hi. Was good a few years ago but is horrible now. Its like you are playing on dirt. Greens and course are in bad shape. Wont go back.

Grill service is slow, golf shop not very friendly, no PGA member on staff.

I ve waited about 6 months to write a poor review, hoping that the course would come around, but no such luck. The course is very poorly maintained, the greens are spotty and dead in places, and even the good greens the grass is so long and bumpy you have to hammer in even 6ft putts. Definitely just played my last round at Cimarrone.

The worst golf course I have ever experienced, cannot be worse, meet a guy who is obviously mental disorder and no employee take care of it.

This course is not managed well at all and they could care less that their members have terrible attitudes. This course is not worth spending money at to play. Didn't even finish playing our round because we were so turned off.

Good value for the money. Course is in good condition, lots of water hazards to keep things interesting.

A bunch of old farts there not very friendly greens were horrific

Course was very nice. Management of the tournament they were running was very poor. No food was available when we finished & no indication the raffle & silent auction was starting prior to the end of everyone being back in the clubhouse. Very disappointing!!!!

Excellent course. One of my favorite courses in Jacksonville.

Went there last Sunday, and I was VERY Impressed. Greens and Fairway was kept up perfectly. The round of golf was less than $40 which is crazy because the quality of the course was very high. Will definitely be going back to this one.

Very challenging course with water on every hole. Course was in very good condition and the price was excellent!

Nice course layout. Greens were a little wrecked but I think we're winterized? Overall course coolness made up for the greens issues. Had a great time playing here.

Probably my favorite layout in this area. Course is never in immaculate shape, but the challenging layout makes up for it. Just a great test of golf. A hidden gem.

Great day of golf besides the kid on the 11th hole yelling and singing during everyone's shot. Also the golf club allowed 12 people to be on one tee box which is total Bull$#!+. Would have gave a better rating but those two things ruined a good day of golf.

Good test..tight fairways with water everywhere but fair..Usually in very good condition..

Solid course, the employees are nothing to write home about but the course is much better shape than it's been in years prior.

Prices are usually decent but they don't manage pace of play or anything that much. There is multiple water hazards on pretty much every hole

Great place to play. Course is challenging and in great shape despite the lack of rain.

This place was a pasture, greens had numerous bald spots and becoming over grown with crab grass. Can't believe what they charge for this course. Considering the conditions, you'd expect to see farm animals while playing. Play other courses in the area if you can.
