Ciel Power

We had the pleasure of receiving the services of Jesse Lubkiewicz, energy auditor, of Ciel power for a home energy audit on October 14, 2019. Jesse had notified us in advance that he was on his way and showed up on time. He was extremely thorough in his assessment of our home energy needs and essentially walked us through the entire process. He was courteous, professional, and explained everything he was doing prior to doing it, giving the reason for the inspection and the intended outcome. He answered all questions and was very knowledgeable about his profession. I felt confident with this work and appreciated his gentle nature and good sense of humor. The dog even liked him! I look forward to the summary report which he indicated should one ready in about 10 days. I give Jesse my highest recommendation for his field of expertise. We hired Ciel Power to do a Home Energy audit and to perform certain of the projects that they recommended coming out of the audit. Beth performed the audit and Natalie managed the project and worked with me to identify which projects would have the greatest impact in terms of solving specific comfort issues and improving our home s efficiency. We are very happy with the process and outcome of the projects. Natalie was terrific to work with and 2+ months in, our home is much more comfortable and our gas usage has declined. Would highly recommend.

Jesse L. was very knowledgeable, courteous and professional throughout my home s energy audit. He made practical suggestions to help remedy minor issues and took time out to explain issues I did not fully grasp. He provided insightful information to help me better understand the overall process and the house itself.

Jesse was very thorough in his data gathering (in over three hours(!) His experience, extensive knowledge (and patience) was obvious in the way he answered every question--we learned a lot in the process. Tim and his crew, Natalie, Kevin, and Beth - this group was the most professional group of people I've done business with in the 30 years I have lived in NJ. Every single one of them. If only every company one has to work with gave this type of service. Polite, courteous, knowledgeable, all with an eye for detail from start to clean up. They did a terrific job. I'm very torn writing this review. There are aspects of this company I really liked, others I'm very disappointed with. We had an energy audit, insulation, and a central heating furnace replaced. The pluses - work teams were very professional while working in the house. They were mostly a pleasure to work with. The company also worked with us concerning scheduling. The problem I have is there are too many minuses. My biggest beefs are: - We had the audit to improve the house efficiency. We easily attained sufficient improvements to qualify for the maximum state incentives. However, who does an energy efficiency audit and then install one of the lowest efficiency compressors (15-16 cooling SEER, 8.5-9 heating SEER)? It would have been nice to be given the option to have a higher efficiency unit, or someone explain why one wasn't necessary. At least it was paired with a top rated furnace. I'm assuming the insulation was good quality. - No one notified us we had to get building permits for the furnace replacement. The first we knew about them was 3 months after the work was done when the town told Ciel we hadn't picked them up. Of course, the permit informs me that in NJ you don't have to make the final payment until the work passes inspection. We didn't know this and had long ago paid the company. - Our contact at the company wasn't always responsive. All follow-up work has been completed satisfactorily, but we had to chase several times. - I was surprised by the nature of some of the follow-up work and some of the sloppy things that were missed. Like having the wrong amp fuse fitted. It took us several days before we realized no one had switched the compressor on. They also forgot to reconnect a down pipe from our guttering which resulted in a minor flood in our basement when it next rained. At the end of the day, the company did all the work they said they'd do, they followed up on everything we had to refer back to them, and there were no real horror stories. However, having read their reviews, I can't help but be disappointed by our experience.

We contacted Ciel Power after hearing such great things about the company and wanted to know if our home was energy inefficient. Jesse L. came out to our home, took measurements, and readings which were then analysed a day or so later. Jesse educated us on the readings he was taking at the time and their importance, he is a wealth of knowledge! After the site visit, we were contacted by Mason who came to our home and reviewed the findings and recommended the most cost effective improvements. Mason also went over energy incentives that are available in the state of New Jersey - who knew? I didn't.
