The original Chipotle. It's extremely compact and unlike any other Chipotle I've been to but the food is the same, delicious.

Great flavor, the food was tasty, and the people were friendly. Please don't skimp on the items. The Chipotle in Katy, TX loads up the bowls and burritos. One would think the original location would as well.
Very first chipotle and right on my alma mater's campus!! Gotta love the Steak Fajita Burrito!
The original restaurantis so small, I've seen other Chipotle's kitchens bigger than the whole restaurant!
The original location. I've been going to this one on and off since the early 1990s. The burritos were better (and cheaper) in the old days, but they're still better than most fast food now.
Nothing like visiting the original Chipotle. This is where it all began.
Always know what to expect, very consistent and friendly. The chicken bowl hits the spot.
Chipoli's Holy Land to announce the beginning of Chipoli ... The disadvantage is that the shop is small, so you have to order from a distance. The parking lot is also narrow.
Very satisfying Chipotle lunch, my only concern was the ginormous amounts of food. Not everyone is into overeating. The server did not pick up on my small portion request. Other than that, the food food was terrific.
This is the VERY FIRST Chipotle, the famous quick-casual restaurant, the one founded by the famous Steven Ells. It's tiny, with a sign that reads "Occupation: 17 customers." The building was previously a Dolly Madison Ice Cream Shop, where I bought cones for my little son in the early 1990 s. That Dolly Madison shop is immortalized in three black-and-white photos on the wall here. They re fashioned in the style of Chipotle s typical self-referencing b/w photos; I wonder how many customers actually note the difference.
Chipotle has some detractors. All the great ones do! The Beatles had detractors. Charlie Chaplin had detractors. But Chipotle is the best of its kind, nonetheless. It s the Elvis of fast-casual eateries. It's the "king of the hill, the top of the list, the head of the heap..." Yep, it's the king.
My favorite is their hot red salsa. According to the company's website, the ingredients are tomatillo, chile de arbol, salt, cumin, garlic, black pepper, and a splash of Tabasco. But the great mystery is this: how are these simple ingredients combined into a delicious tangy mixture?
I do have a complaint. The chips are sometimes stale by afternoon. Another complaint: they don t offer breakfast burritos! Maybe someday... and if they do, they should start here, where it all began.
Chipotle #1...where it all started. They always put a little extra love in the food.
Seeing the first location is a must for a big Chipotle fan! It s so cool to see what all started in this once former ice cream shop! I hear they used to give you souvenirs and let you tour but after the recent renovations they no longer do that :( I still would recommend going! I also wish the employees were more educated on Chipotle history. The one I was talking to was suprised when I mentioned it once was a ice cream store.
Tiny spot but everything else is top notch chipotle
People know it's the original Chipolte but before that it was a Dolly Madison's which used to be a chain in Denver which sold dairy products and has a soda fountain. My brother worked across the street the old Denver Spoke, and when it open we loved it - I had been in the Bay Area so I knew the deal: Mission (SF) style burritos. Great stuff...
The Giant (Amerika! Sized) Burrito was Born
The first Chipotle EVER. If you're bored in Denver or high from all the legalized weed you've been smoking, eating, inhaling or whatever method you choose to take it in and have nothing else to do, hit up the first Chipotle ever to open. The single restaurant that changed the game for gourmet yet affordable "fast food". The game changer. How many times have you said, "Oh, it's like Chipotle but for pizza" or "It's like Chipotle for poke" or "It's like Chipotle for sandwiches"? So regardless if you like Chipotle or not (but if you don't like it, we can't be friends), this has change your life in one way or another.
The Godfather Location
"Say 'Hello' to my little friend." Definitely the smallest location you'll ever encounter. Tiny corner location with just a cashier and two strings of counters along the windows, small but hey it's Denver, go outside and enjoy the weather. I'm just surprised they haven't played up this location more, I could see it being a tourist spot like the first McDonalds in California or the first Starbucks in Seattle. Good thing it's next to Denver University, get "mile high" with the students then go grab some burritos!
Chipotle Cashier: "How high are you...?"
Pothead: "No...it's "Hi, How are you?"
Changed my mind on chipotle after I d almost given up on the company. Keeping the title of first chipotle reputable.
So good. I love the original Chipotle. The service was great and the food shows you why people love Chipotle. Yummmmm!
While on a college tour with my 17 year old son, it was suggested by one of the professors that we go and visit the original Chipolte. What a great suggestion. Terrific hospitality. The food was tasty and prepared as you like it. And it was their 20th anniversary! A very good experience. Hope to go back soon.
OK, so ther are hundreds of Chipotle restaurants now, but this is a chain that doesn't taste like a chain. The food is excellent, from the cilantro rice to both choices of beans, and every variety of meat. Oh, and the salsas are all excellent (I like the green tomatillo myself, but I will sometimes order any of them because they are all outstanding). The guacamole is fresh and very tasty and everything they use is as good as it can be. There is no better burrito in any restaurant, chain or no.
Please never change the look of this place, I love that it gives me an old classic vibe it s unique and the staff is awesome never change.
Always love the original chipotle because it's awesome, but last visit they were quite skimpy on the meat, fajita veggies and lettuce. They need to be more generous.
I love chipotle, but in a twist of irony this may be the worst chipotle I've ever been too. I've ordered cilantro with my order for more than a decade, but they have refused to do it here to me a couple times. They also charged me full price tonight on Halloween $3 night. The original site is a large disappointment.
Its was very good and the staff was exelent!! They took care,my girlfriend and my little daughter chavela and son and David thanks guys !!!!
I had never eaten Chipotle before, just so happened to be the original! The whole staff were all I could ask for. Friendly, sociable, and so helpful when I didn't know what I wanted to get to to eat. I wouldn't and won't go to any other Chipotle in Denver
Fast healthy tasting food. The choice and selection are great when you are in a hurry. I especially like the customization that is done to the selection. I often order the chicken or vegi bowl. The price is right, the service is usually friendly, fast and good. I love that Chipolte strive to have the healthy ingredients.
Very first time trying chipotle. At the first ever chipotle.
This is the place were evriting started the first chipotle amassing food the personal berry friendly thank you please come and visited....
You can never go wrong with a Chipotle burrito. Its an open line, so you can see your food being made in front of you. You have several different choices avaliable for you. Personally, I'm a fan of 1/2 steak and 1/2 chicken, black beans (no pinto beans for me) lots of cheese and medium and hot sauce to top it all off. Keep in mind this is a
least 2 lb plus burrito. I've had it stuffed with some many goodies it would barely fold over. So if you can't finish it, makes for great leftovers. Dont be a hero.
The original. Small, so dont eat there, but take it to go
Always filling, love burritos made to order with fresh chicken, brown rice, black beans, cheese and sour cream
I have been trying to get a hold of someone who actually cares about customer service at the Chipotle on Evans by DU! I have spoken with the manager the general manager and have left messages with the area manager Anna Alonso! All to no avail! Not even an apology! The General manager actually said that he was fine if we took our business elsewhere! The management at this location stinks and is worse than ever! We have been customers since they opened!

Got to experience my favorite burrito where it all got started.
Food is good as always. But I can't help but feel like they wasted three months, closed, renovating the place; it's cleaner sure, but the layout is just BAD. It works fine if you're the only person ordering, but for the 95% of the time that is not the case, you end up having to shout your order around the glass block wall, competing with others ordering... I fully get that it is a small location, but they could have done a lot better especially for a usually busy location
This is the one and only original Chipotle created by a University of Denver Alumnus. Although smaller than the standard store, you are standing in history!
Rude staff, otherwise the chipotle is the same as any other chipotle.
The queso makes me sad :( Its weak, not worth the upcharge.
If you like Chipotle, then its interesting to see that the humbling origins of the very first one.
Was 26 degrees outside and they had the air on inside the small restaurant. We asked to turn the heat on they did for 5 minutes and then turned the air back on. Not friendly. Won't be back find another one.
The first ever Chipotle felt like every other Chipotle.
NOTICE: The restaurant is closed for renovation until September of 2017, so be careful if you're visiting.
Delicious. The first chipotle ever, and it's great to take a bite of such history.
Nate the GM manager is such a bad GM and I don't even know how he got the GM position he doesn't seem like he knows what hes is doing please take him back and teach him how to be a proper GM manager at chipotle.
They forgot to put the meat in, and it was acold burrito. Chip weed old. Not happy.
This is the location of the first Chipotle restaurant in the US. The restaurant itself was surprisingly tiny and includes a number of historical photographs. Food wise, it was the best Chipotle burrito I have ever tasted.
The original and the best. Been coming here since I was a kid.
They are helping people who don't have masks on. Meanwhile their ordering system is not working so you have stand in a crowded line to re-do your order. Which you've paid for. So either you stand around in an unsafe environment or you loose you money. I will spend a dime at Chipotle again. If your on-line system did get people's order, don't wait until people push through a crowd - met them outside.
Same chipotle but in the worst building you can imagine. Take it to go or the employees get annoyed you took one of the 8 seats.
First time ordering from this location as our normal location was closed. However I'm noticing, if you are not there to order in person, the employees tend to either get the order wrong or miss things that are supposed to be in the order. Today was my daughter milk and chips. The quesadilla was also hard as a rock. I ended up having to make her another at home.
Would not recommend this location, employees seem almost annoyed to be there. Ordered and the employee kept asking if I wanted salsa on my bowl before I was at the salsa yet, closed my bowl before I was even finished adding toppings (there was only 2 other people behind me, and they weren t there when I walked in, the employees started an online order that created a small line, so it s not like my single order was slowing everything down). The asada meat had no flavor, cold, tasted almost boiled, picture attached. Rice was undercooked, several hard pieces. I love chipotle, but this location is not it.
Tiny place, but it meets all the convenience and consistency of any other Chipotle. There is just enough room here to sit down yourself or maybe with one of two others. I typically buy here and leave elsewhere, say if I have a pickup order for a group of us.
It's really small and the setup is different than other stores... But it's also the original (with renovations) so just come and visit.
awesome staff, great food, will be great to see the new renovations when they are finished
I came in right before they closed and my man's packed my burrito, was thicccccc. also based on how perfectly he rolled that thing, his backwoods must be on point
We are generally fans of Chipotle but this particular location is awful. I ordered delivery and they didn t include part of my order. It took me over an hour to get through to them on the phone. They literally picked up the phone and hung up on me multiple times. When the guy finally answered he was incredibly rude and hung up on me AGAIN. There are a lot of people without jobs right now. I m sure you can find a better hire Chipotle!! I ve never really had a great experience at this location. Never coming to this one again. Illegal Pete s is right next door and a WAY better experience all around.
