It s a cool experience if you never been. The Ferris wheel is probably the most important thing to do. Especially at NIGHT, you get a cool view of 45 that you can t experience anywhere else. Totally tripped me out my first time. The tour is also very cool, the white tiger is definitely a cool sight to see. You just kinda feel bad after the amazement wears off though. It s not a lot of area for the big feline to move around and I don t know how often this cat is even in natural light. You imagine that they d take care of the big fella, so that s what I m hoping. Also the train ride is pretty cool. Get to see some unique visuals!

Downtown Aquarium - An Underwater Adventure
This aquarium is not very large. The rides are good for young kids under the age of 10. You have to ride the train in order to see the sharks. The ferris wheel gives you a good view of downtown Houston. The best part is seeing and touching the stingrays.
Great small aquarium with a string ray touch exhibit. For a little over $20 you can see the aquarium their beautiful White Bengal Tiger and ride several kid friendly rides. Went for my weekend getaway and it was fun !
Tinny place, not ventilated and nothing good to see, reduced space for sharks and why would they have a white tiger jailed in a very small exhibition place? very cruel
Although I wish it were larger; my family had an excellent time. My two year old loved feeding the rays. It was a fabulous time even though we were there on spring break. Everyone was extremely courteous and friendly. Can't wait to go back on a not so busy day with my family.
Had an amazing time at the aquarium, lines were a but long but other that that fantastic. Restaurant was top notch as well and our server was off the charts.
It was fun and you can feed the sting rays it pretty fun i had a grate time
It was so dissapointing. We attended the educational classes-- the teachers were so so kind-- but the kids said it was so boring. The people over it were super nice but the man I asked for help from was rude and refused to offer me help. He left me waiting for 15 min, finally I gave up and just tried to make best of it. We will not being back.
This is not a traditional aquarium, it has some nice exhibits and the animals seem well cared for but it's small and the "aquarium" part is basically just an attraction to go along with the rides and the restaurant. If you want to see a lot of animals in a true zoological setting go to the Houston zoo instead, they also have an aquarium.
Fun place to take the kids they just need more rides and more seats.
Gotta be honest that it's the lamest "aquarium" I've ever been to and not sure it should even be called an aquarium since there's only one fish tank which is in the restaurant. It's also a crime to have the white tiger locked away in that enclosure...and what's the point of having a white tiger in an aquarium? Won't be going there again.
There is no much things to do out there , yet it a great place
I am a motor coach operator and took a school from San Antonio to Houston to tour the University of Houston then to the Aquarium in Houston. The Aquarium in houston is not bus driver friendly. Most places let us experience different venues so that we can make suggestions to our clientele. We took two bus loads approximately 100 paying customers and most places would allow us feel access but we were told we would have to pay like every one else. We are in the business to make money not waste it. Traffic around the Aquarium was horrible!
A great place to have a kid's birthday party...if you can swing it.
Its a great pleace to pass a sunday with the family
Needs EXPANDING and more attractions to really get your money's worth! Too expensive to literally be in there for 20-25 minutes, 15 when the tigers aren't there.
Fun times with my 2 year old and her grandparents. Expensive for size, convenient location.
Went there not impressed at all very boring place to go
My review here is almost identical to Rainforest Cafe. Fun for the kids. Overpriced mediocre food. Skip it unless you just have to see for yourself. Three stars because the decor is interesting and I really enjoy watching fish. Meeting a sloth in the lobby was also very cool.
Dont waist your money on the aquarium. Aquarium $15 for adults and its like a 10minutes long. Just eat at the restaurant
My husband and I had a fantastic lunch here. I was worried that it was going to be Applebee's quality food at downtown tourist prices. My worries were for no reason. This restaurant is connected to Landrys seafood, and the quality was on par. I told my server that I had a gluten allergy and she had the chef come out to go over the menu with me. He was really knowledgeable and answered all my questions. He explained how different dishes could be made gluten free if it's what I wanted. I got the tilapia and my husband got the snapper. The tilapia was the better of the two with a richer sauce. Though the snapper was very good and there wasn't anything wrong with it. The atmosphere was fun. Though don't expect a slow restaurant. It was pretty full for a Thursday lunch. Mostly families with young kids were there. There were huge fish tanks in the center of restaurant with fun fish, sting rays, and eels. We were glad for our spur of the moment decision to eat here. Food was amazing. Service was great.
Great placed for family first time going and Will Go back
Downtown Aquarium nice little place not too big nice place to take the family our dinner date
Always a great place for a family, but the customer service at the ticket could terminate, really bad!
The aquarium exhibit is a bit short, but the atmosphere is great. To get a good day out of it you should get the adventure pass and dine in the restruant.
Food was good. But, it has a very limited menu and it was like a carnival environment. There is major construction on Bagby which ended up with me going down a one way street.. I went to just have dinner and to sit by the tank for nice evening with family. The place had a feeling like astroworld in the last days.. total disappointment, t has been a few years since I have been there and now I probably will never go back. #nativhoustonian
Some interesting fish and a fine collection of eels. The main attraction appeared to be a family of white tigers they rotate through a living space at the end of the aquarium.
Our time here was beautiful! The white tiger was amazing to look at! Jellyfish!! Would come back in a heartbeat! Price was great too!
Smallest aqurium I've ever been to quite honestly the fish gallery is a pet store and I feel they have just as many cool species for sale and it's free to go into.
Great! Family fun! I really didnt see as much sea animals as i thought but overall its mostly outdoor fun. Prices about $$.
To our surprise this was a great experience. We had so much fun here.
Fun to spend a couple of hours at most. I felt really sad at the lack of space the tigers had. I'm not really sure why they were there. And it's extra to touch the stingrays.
A Lovely place to spend time with your family and watch the fishs too. A learning something about the sea as well. A wonderful place!
Great aquarium and restaurant. it's a little pricey. The outdoor activities are good as well.
A really nice place to visit and you can actually go inside and see some really cool things.
Short and sweet. Would recommend getting the extra day pass for added value. Great place for kids. It does get loud and busy during peak times. The restaurant is cool with aquariums all around. Although it feels weird eating fish in front of fish...
Very small, the tiger was cool, and the sting ray area is a nice touch but if we were to visit the Houston again, I wouldn't waste time visiting there again
Had a great time! Took us about an hour and a half to do the whole thing. Everything was operational for the most part. A couple small exhibits closed. Had a great time on a Sunday not too busy. Train ride was fun.
Didn't enjoy it because of the rain. But sure the games are fun
I love this place, there are lots of things to do. Last time I went with my staff members and wish to visit again with my family.
Our experience at Downtown Was terrible, We bought 5 Citypasses and to get our booklets was a huge deal... We waited for over 40 mins, Then We asked to talk to the manager. She wasn't Helpful at all...... We will never buy the Citypasses on line again!!!! On top off everything, They charge for the parking at the end. So, Traffic was awful. We'll think it twice, before we go again!!!
Nicely decorated. I just wanted this aquarium to be bigger and the experience to last longer.
Great not to big but fun $8 cup but I like it
Parking was convenient but not free. Admission is a decent price- the day pass is more affordable than doing the individual rides especially since the aquarium itself is pretty small so it's a quick visit unless you do the rides and extend the day. It felt a bit gimmicky and was smaller than I expected. The white tigers were fun to see although I worry about their health in keeping them indoors out of the natural light in captivity. The area was very clean and the staff friendly. My son enjoyed playing in the fountains. We went during Spring Break so the lines were long and overall very busy but we still have a good time.
The aquarium was nice and my grandchildren loved it. I thought it could have a bit more activities for the younger ones.
Wonderful place for all ages. You can pick which attractions you want to enjoy. Good value for the price.
Had a blast. Took the kids to dinner as well and had a fabulous time.
Place was packed to the gills as if it were food town on foodstamp day.. Cool place if less crowded.
For adults, you could probably pass on this. As with most places, it is geared towards children. The white tiger was cool. The actual aquarium part was kinda small, we got through it in about 20-30 minutes. We went to it because of the City Pass, which I HIGHLY recommend. Otherwise, we would not have gone.
Small but worth it! Fun experience for adults and children alike. Plenty to see and learn about.
Breakfast here is good. Prices are kind of expensive. We've done both the breakfast with Santa and with the Easter bunny and they are fun. Breakfast with the Easter bunny includes an Easter egg hunt.
This is a very enjoyable aquarium to go to. The only reason I'm giving four stars is because it's on the small side. However, there is still a great variety of fish. It's looks well maintained and is very clean. The stingrays are included in the admission cost which is a wonderful experience. Definitely will go again.
It's cool It's not very big, but it's fun in the little
