I paid $40 for a all day pass for me and my family to use our sleds for a small slop and all we got was someone saying we couldn't go down as fast and the next guy that came on said we had to leave because our passes were only for an hour when the sale representative said it was for all day. Two hours before they closed there were multiple people that showed up that didn't even pay and got to use the slop for free no questions asked. Never going again.

It was a great experience being my first time sking
The only thing that annoyed me were the employees.
We were about to leave when we remembered we had forgot something. My kids went in first and the guy fitting skis said to them in a rude voice what are you doing you need to be outside. The instructor was also extremely rude only because it was our first time and were having a difficult time. He was yelling at us. When we were on our own he came up next to me and flicked snow at me with his ski. Then he did it another time. All the employees I met were very rude. Do not recommend coming here.

Hanging with friends up there was amazing and learning how to ski. We were able to get their fairly early on a Saturday right after it snowed so it was perfect conditions! We all did the "Learn in a day" ski/snowboard class. We did so well on the bunny hill that both of our instructors told us to take the ski lift up to Academy...only to find out that none of learned how to stop or how to get up when we fall. We were not prepared to take on Academy. We learned more trying to figure out how to ski and board on Academy than the actual class. But will be back again.

It is hard for me to give a good review as my experience was incomplete. We got there and it was crazy packed. When we finally got through the line for the lift tickets, then the rental gear line the employee tells me they were out of snowboard rentals. Thankfully they refunded me everything since I couldn't do anything. To sum up 3 hours of driving to see the slopes and go home. My advice to this place, 1. Go early or bring your own gear 2. Super popular so be prepared for large crowds 3. Depending on time and crowd, might be faster to just pack a lunch vs buying food there I will return but it will have to be after I buy my own snowboard.

Good small resort. When the whole mountain is open, the ticket prices are very reasonable. Runs and lifts are kept in good condition. Service and pricing at the lodges is average, as is the food and drink. Definitely has a non-corporate, family-run type feel.

Great 1st experience on the peak, Sara especially in the resort bar was exceptionally great! We had a fabulous time and highly suggest Billy the bartender at the lodge. There was a ski lift fellow who helped me get halfway down who was awesome I suggest staying more than one day and getting experience on the bunny trail before heading up to the tippy top! You get free lift if you stay at the lodge the next day but definitly bring your own beer!!!!

Old school skiing at its finest. Slow lifts, but true fall lines to ski down. If you follow the sun around the mountain, you can have good skiing all day. There is just nothing like a sunny warm day at the Peak!

Been going to China Peak for decades now, seen a lot of changes, all for the better. It's easy to get to, plenty of runs of varying levels. They offer group classes, private lessons, and have ski shop. Plenty of places to eat, including mid-mountain.

Went for a half-day, first time boarding in years. Rented board and boots, spent sometime on the base remembering how to stand, stop, turn and such. Took the lift to the summit, as soon as i get off the lift one of the straps on my bindings breaks. Of course they dont keep extra bindings at the ranger station, that would make sense. So i had to wait an hour for a snowmobile to come pick me up, by the time we got back to the rental shop, there was only 30mins left till the park closed, whats the point of that. $90 to ride a lift then sit in the snow all because they couldnt properly inspect the equipment or have a repair station on the summit. They offered me a voucher for free rentals in the future, but i dont plan to ever return so i just gave it to a random person.

Great summer things to do up there. Recommendation for those who don't know, you can go up the chair lift for mountain biking, frisbee golf, or a spectacular scenic walk down the mountain. Best panoramic views of Huntington Lake you'll ever see.
Try it for yourself.
They have a great staff on hand to get you around and will feed you when you're done.

Our experience was a dream come true:),. I was finally able to have my children ski the slopes with me.
China peak is different.... better than it has ever been.
We stayed at the lodge, it was fun. We woke up when it was still dark and watched the humongous machines groom the runs for us to have fun on after the sun came up.
The food at the restaurant was amazing, siracha drizzled over salmon, great service from the waitress who was my children's ski instructor the next day.
My favorite part of the experience was the surprise of ski instructors that were educators of our school district, GIS, and a retired college professor.
Great experience!

Sooo, this place is awesome. If you are interested in hosting an event here or anywhere in the Lakeshore area, call Tess at China Peak. My wife and I had a very specific vision of what we wanted for our wedding day. Tess and her team checked every single box and made it look easy. We seriously could not have had the wedding we wanted without them. Thanks y'all for everything, it was all perfect

Very chill. Cool old place ,just for warning. If staying at the Lodge. Do not stay in room 108, It's next to a generator Room that runs off and on all night. And it is very loud. But if you enjoy the sounds of a purrrrring motor it is a dream..
