We had so much fun watching the Grinch at the Children's theatre. Every show, year after year, they continue to impress. I grew up coming here and now get to bring my kids. So happy to have this opportunity. Thank you!!
Loved this place! Until recently I had never been! The theater was a nice small size where even the balcony seats were great! The acting was amazing!! I definitely recommend this theater to family and anyone who enjoys theater!
Always a great place to see excellent shows. The productions are top notch and can be enjoyed by all age groups. We go to a few shows a year and always come away in wonder at how wonderful the plays are. Worth every penny.
Children's Theatre Company has put on some excellent plays. Very professional. But honestly, I'm no longer wanting to take the children anymore because the theatre has chosen to be political. Good children's literature is not about politics. It is about humanity, our commonality, and the miracle of life. It isn't about politics.
Actually at the Minneapolis Institute of Art, next to the theatre, which we love. Always fun to observe the happy kids going into and coming out of the theatre.
Love going to MIA. One hint is to pre-order your snacks for intermission. This is so much better than trying to stand in line for food and then also get in the bathroom break. This time we saw the Hobbit and again we were not disappointed.
A lot more enjoyable than I thought it would have been! We saw Mr Poppers Penguins. I did not know the whole story but it was fun. The production was amazing, seating was good, and there was plenty of staff to help us figure out where we were going. Kids enjoyed it but I was more impressed with how much I did. Very high level of production/professionalism for a play aimed at kids while still making it enjoyable for everyone. Good theater, stage and they also had snacks available as well! Right next to the Minnesota institute of Art as well, so perfect for day/half day trip for everyone!
Our daughter was so excited for theater camp! But a few days before it started we received messages from the camp counselors asking her to introduce herself and share her personal pronouns. Having never been asked this question before she was uncomfortable. When I inquired about this, the staff told me that yes, it is their education policy to discuss personal pronouns with the campers. We wholeheartedly agree that everyone deserves love and respect no matter what. But gender discussions are not what we signed her up for. In conversation with our daughter we decided to pull her out of the camp. Despite the fact that we qualified for a discount due to income, they would not give us a refund, instead offering us credit to use for another class. We appreciated the gesture, but it did not solve the problem for us. We wish Children's Theatre Company would just let kids learn the arts and leave the discussions about gender identity to the parents.
