I really enjoyed the use of primitive fire making methods for the fire they used for the show. They had a fire plow which is a traditional way to make fire without the use of modern methods. The food was good and the hosts where very fun to be around. We had a great time.

AMAZING!!! This was an excellent show and the food was good too. Bring some cash for the bar and be sure to get here in a bus or arrive early because seating is a first come first serve. If you come early the side seats still give you a really good view. This was a fantastic way to end our Hawaii trip; Chief was hilarious!

This is the luau we take visitors to when they come to Oahu and I genuinely think it's the best show out there! No other show has current and former fire knife champions performing and this is what makes it so great, as well as your host, Chief (hilarious and sweet). Food and drink is standard for a luau, but you're going for the show, not the food. Hosts are kind and gracious. Audio is plenty loud so its easy to understand the performers unlike some other shows I've seen. Sit back and enjoy!

So the 1 star is to make my vote count against starry eyed tourists. Good pig at a luau should be mandatory not hard to find. If I went to a bbq anywhere on the mainland and they made a show of a pig being cooked and then served me cold crock pot pig...... Every luau on this island should be serving good pig period.

Although it feels like you're being rushed through the "activities" and the picture session, if your bus gets you there at a good time you'll have enough time to make it to all the activities and get a good seat. The show is excellent and the Chief is certified comedy gold!!

This was my first and only ever Luau so I'm not real sure what to compare it to. For the price it was nice to see the culture the show was great the people were fabulous the food was good. It kind of takes away a little bit of the ambiance when there's big plastic tubes of waterpark all around you. I'm not sure you're going to get away from a touristy trap commercial sitting anywhere anymore.

Aloha! The Chief's Luau was amazing. This was the highlight of our week of adventures in Hawaii. This is a must do. The Chief was very funny and we enjoyed how he shared the history of Hawaii. The food was great and the presentations even better. We wanted to get out of Waikiki and experience something more traditional to Hawaii and this was definitely worth it. Put this on your list!! You will not regret it. Very memorable! Mahalo!!

A lot of positive energy and storytelling through audible and dance. I loved the inclusion of so much culture and audience engagement. The food was okay. It is the definition of a Luau. The entertainment was great!

The Chief is funny and serious when he had to be, making for a great time of laughs and thought. Myself and my parents loved it. They even made time for a man to propose to his wife during a special celebration of marriage where they brought the oldest and newest married couples on stage followed by a moon light dance for any married couples who attended. Would recommend this to anyone and everyone who's looking for a good night.

At first start of the Luau we thought it was kinda of cheesy and cheap. Plastic chairs and tables , seemed more like a picnic. Plus with the Wet N Wild rides in the background it made it kinda of odd. But once it gets dark and the show starts you will forget about being at a water park! Definitely entertainment for the whole family, but not a romantic date for a couple I would say.
The Chief is hilarious and the entertainment great. I would recommend getting the cheap seats, the view is great and worth the price.

I've been to a few luaus in my life and nothing has even come close to comparing to this luau. It was epically amazing! I've never seen my friend laugh and smile so much. We both enjoyed ourselves very much! We chose the Royal experience, and it was well worth it. If you go to Hawaii and want to go to a luau, Chief's Luau is a must.

Family friendly/vegetarian friendly luau. Great background for pics. Some have weird backdrops but this one is nice. Great dancers, musicians and host. Fire dance is at the end and it was fantastic! Also plenty of activities for families.

The show was amazing. The reason that I gave it three stars is that their allergy menu is a mess. I'm a vegetarian, and while their allergy menu does have a column for this, if you scroll over to the other columns you notice that some of the items that were marked for vegetarian/vegan safe also have warnings for other allergies that come from adding in animal products. For example, there's a noodle dish that says it's vegetarian safe but also has a shellfish warning because they added clam juice to it. Someone that doesn't think to check the other columns JUST IN CASE could get really sick because of this. Most of the time I assume the things I'm allergic to are not in my food when they're presented
as vegetarian safe, but this could have made me sick because I'm allergic to shellfish and I wouldn't have known what caused it.

Would come back to this location. We were treated like family (Ohana). The food was wonderful, drinks were good until they got too strong for us to drink them. The fire spinning was amazing to watch. We had a blast. Thank you for taking such good care of us!!!

This was my second time going to the Chief's Luau ...

This was my second time going to the Chief's Luau in the last 6 months, and it didn't disappoint either time. This time, the actual Chief was not there, but his son delivered an identical performance even down to the sound of his voice and comedic appeal. The performers seemed even more perfected than when I'd seen them the last time. The food was delicious and plentiful. The Mai Tai's were too strong in mine & my friend's opinion. I think they should waive the $6 parking fee for those who opt for the Royal (most premium) package. I also wish a photo was included and that our food was delivered to us as it is at another luau when one purchases the most premium category. The fire dancers and finally are the best - hands down!

What an awesome experience! Our family had such an amazing experience at this luau. We chose this venue to celebrate our after wedding dinner. We got married earlier in the day at Waimanlo Beach Park and then celebrated the marriage at the luau. We decided to get the premium seats and what a great night. Our family was treated so well and really felt welcomed. The pre-dinner activities were great and the food was great too, the show was just amazing though. The dancers really were awesome and really took pride in the art and heritage of a luau. Chief himself was the best part of the show. Honestly the show was funny and he really made the whole thing! He really made us feel special and honored our marriage. My husband and I got called up on the stage and really had an amazing time. We got married in September and our family is still talking about going back to this luau the next time we go back to the island. WHAT AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE AND WE WILL BE BACK!!!!

I have heard of many Luau's on the island, My cousin Jacob picked us up, and returned us via bus, to Waikiki. I highly recommend this event. They set the standard in customer satisfaction, performance, and overall experience. The food, talent, and overall ambiance generated are all outstanding. Mahalo.

A good experience, and we had fun, but we re not c...

A good experience, and we had fun, but we re not convinced we got our value for money in the end. We got Aloha seats (cheapest) which were still good seats with a good view but you definitely feel like you paid the least (even though you re still paying quite a bit of money!). From what we saw, it doesn t look like paying more money would have been worth it either. There are multiple stages to the experience. Firstly, the gates open at 5:30 and the people who paid the most go in first to get their photo taken (not complimentary so if you don t want to buy them, don t bother waiting in a queue to get it taken), and get given a lei (different ones for different levels). The people who paid the most I believe also get a mai tai on arrival. Once you re seated at your plastic table and chairs (no comfy cushion even if you pay more - and your bum gets sore by the end of the night), there s the opportunity to get involved in a few activities. There s fire starting (using two sticks rubbed together), headdress weaving using coconut tree fronds (very cool) and the opportunity to try coconut water/coconut. You can also buy drinks or use your drinks tickets for mai tai (not other cocktails) or a few other drinks. Eventually, they start shifting people to eat (most expensive tickets go first and I believe get some extra meats) and it s a while (long queue) before Aloha tickets get to the buffet. To be honest, the buffet food wasn t anything special at all, and the cake was vanilla with a pineapple flavoured frosting (not very exciting). The entertainment starts (the band has been playing for a while at this point though) when Aloha sit down with their meals (everyone else has eaten) and Chief holds court very well. He tells a few jokes, has a bit of audience interaction (you get some free coconut tree frond weaved items like bowls if you paid the most and are sitting right in front of the stage). Some dancers come on stage, do some impressive choreography whilst the band plays and Chief talks through the geographical journey (e.g. specific dances for each Polynesian country) and it s nice to watch. Chief holds court more between dances and invites various people to the stage. We had everyone on honeymoon/newly married, celebrating 50 years marriage and anyone celebrating an anniversary go on stage and receive flowers and slow dance to the band. It was quite beautiful and moving and I imagine made the night more special for those people. As the night gets darker (I hope you have remembered to use those drinks tickets!) there is some fire dancing which is most impressive. They have some champion fire dancers in their staff so the quality is fantastic. Everything ends and you walk out, past the stall to buy the photo and go home. Practically, it is a lot of money (and an extra $6 for parking at Wet n Wild), the Wet n Wild venue makes it feel like you re not getting an authentic experience, no matter how good the performances are and the segregation between people paying various amounts of money is quite strong. I couldn t count on one hand the number of times Aloha ticket holders made a joke about being tight with money to break any awkwardness that they felt about being last to everything/missing out on certain activities or audience involvements/wearing different colour wristbands and leis, despite still paying quite a lot of money!

The show is awesome! They make you feel like Ohana. They told me the food is catered and that is the only thing I felt was a little under par. Felt like the food could have been more authentic Hawaiian.

This is my favorite luau on the island, and I'm a local. Kama'aina comes in very handy to the tune of 30%. Great show and incredible food. This is NOT a normal luau that just serves whatever. You're in for a treat if you come here.

My family and I had an amazing time tonight. The Chief's Luau staff and team put on a great show, and made us feel right at home. The luau is highly interactive, culturally educational, and a nice way to spend an evening.

Easily the best luau on Oahu.

Chief's Luau was my first luau ever and I wasn't disappointed!

They put on an amazing show, with audience interaction.

The buffet has ube (purple yam) which is my favorite!

The cocktails were also delicious.

I would definitely recommend the Chief's Luau, whether you go as a couple or a family.
It's really the best way to end any night!!

Chief's Luau was awesome. Chief was the star of the show and had us laughing all night long. His performers were simply the best and the food was great. We started our trip with this event and could not top it for the next 6 days. Hawaii was beautiful and fun and we kept talking about Chief's Luau throughout the trip. Do yourself a favor, go to this Luau.

Was there last week and even though it rained it was still alot of fun. They gave everyone the option to reschedule or get a refund if they didn't want to chance the rain, so everyone that went knew they might get wet. And we did, and we had fun. The Chief was entertaining and so were the dancers. The food was good and plentiful. Would recommend it to others. Only complaint was we were promised a souvenoir and never got it.

Chief's Luau provided such a great experience and history. From the beginning till end the staff provided an excellent experience. Would recommend going with the bus going there as the coordinators give you a awesome story and sightseeing history (especially if you're going to drink!). Don't cheap out on the seats and try to get the front rows if you can, was worth it for me.

Food was ok, for the price thought there would be more choice. Show was really good, Chief is funny. My first luau, but setup is at a Wet N Wild water park, location could be better, I would have preferred a beach setting.

Absolutely awesome experience and atmosphere. Amazing knowledge and the showmanship was spectacular. Cousin Kelvin our Cultural Ambassador was amazing. Cousin Nelson was our bus driver and the entire team of the Chief's Luau was definitely on point. Activities were awesome too. Would recommend this for all ages.

This is a joke, spent extra money to be in the Royal section. They sat us with our backs to the stage. Imagine spending 400 to NOT see a show. When I told them this is unacceptable, they told me they didn t have enough seats

Their poor planning, is NOT acceptable. Purchased tickets well in advance. They should have planned better.
