I was skeptical with it being in a water park, did not matter one bit. Staff was fantastic. The star of the show was actually the bus ride. "K" was so warm and welcoming to every single person on the bus. went around and answered questions checking on everyone as the luau went along. I will say this, bring s light hoodie/sweater. When the sun goes down it does get slightly Chilly. You will be completely entertained for the 4 ish hours of the entire event.

Very dedicated staff who are passionate about teaching you the Polynesian experience and ensuring you have a fun time at the Luau. If you've been to the south Pacific then you're not gaining anything new and might find this one a little cheesy. The dinner was not with the price but the overall evening was quite entertaining.

I highly recommend checking this out. The chief (that runs the luau) genuinely cares about making sure that every guest understands and appreciates that Polynesian culture that he loves. The entire event is executed extremely well. The food was surprisingly good (better than I was expecting), and you can tell that all of the staff genuinely love what they do. We had a great experience and would highly recommend it for anyone who loves learning about culture and history.

This was by far the best show that I have seen. There is so much history that is explained in such an entertaining way that it kept my 5 yr. old grandsons attention. His show is not only entertaining, but it is respectful and full of morals. I can't say enough good things about it. I would highly recommend making it part of anyone's Hawaii experience.

Being in Hawaii for the first time we felt going to a luau was pretty much mandatory! We got the paradise package with transportation to and from Waikiki. Our host did a great job with the ice breaker games and creating atmosphere on the bus ride.

Before the luau starts you have access to various Polynesian cultural activities such as weaving, fire starting, and tattooing. Great fire show and cultural education but the food was largely forgettable.

We had a great time at Chief s Luau and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Honolulu!! Pay the extra $20 or $25 for the bus to come pick you up so you can enjoy the cocktails, dancing, fire performance and the comedic relief from the Chief himself!!

The actual show (dancers) were amazing. I d give them 5 stars, very talented. The food was good. But the whole process was scripted and generic. Especially for the amount of money I spent. ($400 for 2 tickets). It s definitely NOT the authentic, casual luau on the beach I was expecting. You are escorted into the area in groups. There are plastic tables and chairs packed together on AstroTurf. You are released table by table to a different area to go through buffet line, then back to your table to eat. The show starts, lasts about an hour, then it s over. Back on your bus to be taken back to your hotel. I wasn t impressed, and I m bummed that the concierge in my hotel recommended it over more traditional luau settings.

This was my second time enjoying Chief's Luau. While I did like the background ambience of their previous location, the wet 'n wild waterfalls make a great background for this event. As always Chief is as funny as can be and the dancers are top notch! The food is plentiful and delicious as well. We purchased the paradise package and I would say it is the best for your money by far
You get a lei you can keep forever and are seated perfectly yo see the entirety of the show. The royal package is good, but kind of like sitting in the front row of a theater trying to see the entire show by constantly looking left to right.
If you are on your honeymoon or anniversary they do a special recognition dance for you that was very nice!
The fire knife dancers are great, including several world champions!
I would highly recommend this luau to anyone visiting Oahu and looking for a good time!

One of the longest running and best luaus on Oahu. Runs like a well oiled machine from start to end. Fantastic entertainment and food for all ages and with extracurricular activities included. Many different tour options offered by the hotels for this event. Well worth your time if you visit.

Amazing time. Show was funny, informative, and spectacular. Food was some of the best we've had on this trip. We had Royal tickets, so our seats were front row center, but even in the back it would have been great!

We have been to this Luau and Germaine's. Chief's has the better show. Food and drink is probably better at Germaine's, but not by a huge margin. Chief's Luau has the literal masters of fire knife throwing and it is an awesome sight to see! Their performers are the world champs of the art!Sound system quality is better at Chief's and the MC is much easier to understand. You will enjoy it!

First luau to reopen on the island. Excellent show this evening. The chief has a great sense of humor, they served great portions of traditional Hawaiian food, provide a great show and finish with 10 or more fire knife dancers. More than enough food and they offer more if you would like... Enjoy!

No cover from rain. They make you sit, IN THE RAIN, to eat. I read a lot of reviews and somehow missed this fact, shame on me.

Everyone was soaked even before the meal. Thankfully I had an umbrella in the car that I had grabbed and was used to cover the plates at least. After a tastless dinner we all said F-it and dipped.

If this luau is the 'best' just avoid them all. Arriving at 4 30 did not help, gate does not open until 5 15 and there is nothing to do in the meantime (other than huddle under the few dry areas). Once inside it's 20 minutes for some activities that were ok, then listen to Chief who was funny, then a rush to the buffet and back to the soaking wet tables.

Seriously BUY A TENT. It's Hawaii. IT RAINS HERE.

Only left 2 stars because a lot of people disregard the 1 star reviews and should be warned.

Had an awesome time at the luau. The host was great on the mic and really was entertaining with his jokes and charisma. There's plenty of guest interaction as they ask people to come in stage to be a part of the show. The food was pretty good considering it's buffet style. I got the middle package (green), and I thought it was well enough ss it comes with 2 drink tickets per person. The view of the stage was not far either. There was plenty of leftovers but you have to get it fast because the show starts at about 7-ish and the sun sets pretty quick. The fire torch blade spinners at the end stole the show for me. They were amazing to watch in person.

When in Oahu and looking for a Luau, there is none better than Chief's Luau. You truly feel a part of one big family. I am disabled and use a wheelchair, I was taken at the entrance by the Chief to my table and seated at the front. When it was time to go, the same and I was treated with great respect. One of the Polynesian girls helped me fix my plate. The show, it was wonderful & amazing. Even though I was in pain I was moved to stand up and dance with my wife. I don't want to call them actors as they are not, they are Polynesian men and women sharing their traditions & values. In their dances they reviewed the traditions from many surrounding islands. Don't miss this Laua, there truly is none better than Chief's. A personal note; Thank you to all my Polynesian brothers & sisters for being such wonderful hosts and teaching me so much about your history and traditions. I promised I would tell the world how wonderful all of you are and how grateful I am for having the opportunity to meet each and everyone of you. God Bless

Amazing! We did the Royal package which was completly worth the upgrade. We got off the bus and was able to bypass the long line to get in first. We were greeted with Mai Tais and were set, literally, front row and second row at the tables, additionally we didn't have to wait longer than 10 minutes for the buffet bc of the upgraded package. The food was delicious, especially the fish and pork from the pig roasted underground (which you only get to try if you do the royal package). The entire show was incredible but the highlight was the fire dancing at the end. Forget the rest, this was the best luau I've seen in Waikiki even topping the Hale Koa (which is very wonderful and very moving itself with the military tributes, but this one was even better). Last, they really incorporate the entire audience who wants to get on stage. I might shorten that part a little bit but overall the show was very funny and 100% enjoyable.

We went there on a package we booked at our hotel. The dances were fun to watch. But after the bus dropped us off, they don't leave much time to do the activities they told us about on the bus ride over. & there was less time if you have to use the bathroom. The drinks were good.

Very cool luau, food is great, performance is awesome, and chief is very funny. Plenty of crafts to make and the fire dance is remarkable. Went for our anniversary and was honored with a boutique of flowers for the wife and a moonlight dance.

The show was very colorful and fun, the chief's crew sang, danced and there was even interaction with the crowd as well. The meat looked very good but I didn't taste anything because I don't eat meat. The rest of the food was ok, would have been nice if there were more side dishes. Overall very recommendable.

Overall, a good experience. The location is pretty and the entertainment was fantastic. A few negatives though: I was very disappointed by the food and expected a higher standard given the cost of the event (think poor quality buffet - stale bread, lukewarm and rather bland food, etc). The tables were jammed in - everyone struggled to move in and out - the event was about 70% full - they easily could have removed a few tables / chairs and spaced things out to be more comfortable. Charged $5 for parking which seems kind of ridiculous seeing as they have a HUGE carpark that was only about 20% full - why exactly are they charging anything? Because they can. You are very much left with the impression that they're trying to get as much money out of the tourists as possible. This did detract from the atmosphere and sense of hospitality.

My family and I had a great time at the Luau! We've been to one in Maui and Kuaui before and this tied with Kuaui's! The show was funny, exciting, and the fire dance was the best I've ever seen! The food was good, the cake was delicious and I loved the payaya dressing; we purchased the Royal package and it was worth every penny! They gave away a lot of goodies to the middle front guests so get there early! We also got free towels! The activities were fun, everyone was nice, and if you're celebrating an anniversary or honeymoon go to the front when they call you, you won't regret it!
