I have worked in this particular building for 10 years all together 6 consistent this time. I started as an aide , and now I m a nurse everyone was so encouraging and supportive with my transition to nursing. We have issues like any other building but nothing that doesn t get addressed if it effects the work environment. This is a family owned building and they treat all staff and residents like family. The resident get the best of care from staff. Recreational activities are beyond belief of making the resident feel at home during the holidays and at any time. The residents, family, loved ones are always listened to nothing gets put to the side. I have worked many years as a cna and this is far by the best nursing home I have ever worked for. Our staff members strive each and everyday to make our resident feel safe, loved, and most of all the closest to being home. Covid had took a tremendous hit on us but our staff has gone up and beyond to continue to make our residents safe and being covid free. We strive here for excellence!!!!

My mother-in-law has been in their care for over a year now. She has received nothing but the best care. They work with her every day and get her involved with all different kinds of activities. She is barely in her room. They have family activities that we could go to and enjoy with her before COVID. Now, they face time with us twice a week. They started doing the face time before the state started. She seems happier than we have seen her in years. It's a great place and I can't say enough about the place and all the people that work there. The employees really love the people they are helping and they always say Hi when you come there. The employees take the time to care about each and every person there. This was the best decision we ever made for her.

I have stayed silent for far too long! My husband is a man that requires complex medical care and rehab and this facility is only in it for the money. Multiple previous employees have complained to me about the horrible treatment by administration and favouritism. I am sad that the landscape of healthcare is reduced to greed and money. I called the state on this facility only to have the state say the administer wouldn't take my sweet husband back as "they didn't have a good experience" translation they would not or could not take care of him. Also, they have no experience with home care although they purchased "All Care" and sent aides that could not provide personal care! I would not trust my loved one at Chesthem.

Although the original building is older it is well maintained. The staff is very caring and take the time to get to know their patients. Both my mother and currently my mother-in-law have used their rehab services. It is a pleasant environment and the activities are always changing. Plus if your love one is local they most likely will know other residents as quiet a few are from the surrounding area.

Barely one star. My mother was there for five years. I would visit her for at least 4 hours at a time, three or more days a week. I was able to see a definite decline in care and quality within that time frame. Her death was nothing short of extremely painful, inhumane and torturous. It could have and should have been prevented. Pure neglect and very bad judgment. I filed a complaint with the State. They went through the motions and came up with some outlandish violations totally unrelated to what happened to her and never really addressed her particular situation. I have worked in healthcare. I have worked in extended care facilities. There is nothing good about any of them unless they happen to be extremely well endowed, impeccably managed and you have an endless cache of financial resources. Bottom line....do whatever is in your power to keep your loved ones at home. It's very hard but, it won't be forever and you will be more than compensated with peace of mind. If you think socialized, government run healthcare is a good idea, spend some time with title 19 patients in an extended care facility. If you're not totally devoid of logic and reason, you will change your mind.
