The doctor I'm seeing refused to give me ADHD medication when requested on the claim that 'I do not have ADHD' even though I have a diagnosis for it on my record. I am not 'hyperactive' enough by her standards (ADHD is much more than that). She also said the 2 medications she gave me for it in the past didn't work. Well so have none of the medication she's given me for my depression in the last 3 years. I do not feel like my doctor actually cares about my mental health.

I saw Dr. Kelly here three times. One of those was an emergency appointment where I was having an obvious panic attack and he hung up the conference call and never contacted me again. Now my prescriptions are all messed up and I have nowhere to go. Thanks CIBH, I hope you follow up on your reviews better than you do with your patients.

Husband found this facility on our insurance websi...

Husband found this facility on our insurance website, and was close to where we live. He did not realize it was basically run like a free clinic, but it is by far from being FREE! They quickly take all your insurance information, want couple id s, a utility bill with home address, and even asked if I could provide a copy of my income taxes, social security card and wanted to take a photo of me...red flags! I refused. They were so concern about my ability to pay, even after I presented them with two insurances, which I had to explain that additional financial information was not needed.

After they drill you about your ability to pay. You see an intake person who gathers all of your medical mental health information, current symptoms and medications. Then she drops the bomb on you about the process, in which you may get to actually see a physician, which was absurd!!!! However, in the state I was in, and all that I had gone through that day. I came back EARLY the next morning; however, not early enough, they had filled their two or three clients for that day. I was advised that I need to get there almost two hours earlier, waiting outside because it s first come first serve. Homeless shelter? I ve read the other review. And who wants to talk with a doctor on a television. I wonder if the powers that be, such as Mr. Executive Director: Joseph J. Scislowicz,
found himself or a family member in the need of medical care take advantage of the services the provide. Mental health is REAL! And the systems and CARE that is provide is past POOR!! However, everyone is so concerned about individuals to seek help! I felt worst, demeaned, embarrassed and mad after the experience at this place.

I ve read other similar reviews, and some advice that I was given I would like to pass on. CONTACT YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY! Advise them of the service you received. You will find that they care more than attempting to complain to the organization, which is funded by the state/city. If insurance company continue to get complaints, which they investigate EACH and EVERY ONE, as they did mine. Chesapeake Integrated Behavioral Healthcare (CIBH) can be in jeopardy of losing their contract with insurance company, as any other facilities or doctors that do not provide quality health care.

Insurance company even advised us what to look for when needing good medical care.
For those who have received good care, I am glad to hear. Everyone is deserving of the best health care, and it shouldn t because of good luck, or first come first serve, etc!

So please, when it comes to your health care and family s care TAKE control, be your own advocate. There are alternatives, I got help from my insurance company. Actually, I received the best sincerely compassionate, kind, patient and professional care from the emergency room, every nurse, technician and doctors. I informed my insurance company and the hospital of the emergency room about the utmost quality of care they extended to me and my husband who was overwhelmed at the time.

I hope this will assist someone. And grammar, punctuation police please give me a pass. I believe the message is a little more important, and hopefully helpful.

No one should have to stand in the rain!!!
Take care

Do not have an emergency and miss appointments. If you do, even if you called, you then have to show up 2 hours before the place even opens to TRY to get in. You have to do this twice. Yet, when my daughter checked in previously, they didn't call her in for her appt till 45 minutes after her show time. So she had a 15 minute appt. I bet they charged her insurance for an hour.

The community service board is great at what they do.They have help myself and my family in ways that I can't express with words. They are a blessing to those in need when they can't help themselves, They go above and beyond to provide care for those with mental illness who most likely wouldn't get the proper treatment. The staff here has compassion and with their willingness to make sure their patients are able to be afforded the proper meds and care with or without insurance, especially when their patients want the help .

Lack of communication between employees in the facility. Long time waiting to be seen before appointments. Classes are repetitive, unhelpful and not tailored to personal specific needs to improve ones self.

Very unprofessional. Dr. Kelly cancelled my mother's appointment and refused to see her when I brought her in at a later day bc I did not give his "Asian friend" a job that she was not certified for. He told me she was a LPN but when her brought her to fill out the app she was a CNA. Ms. Amy with Intake was very professional and went above and beyond and it is greatly appreciated.

Absolutely terrible.

Absolutely terrible.

First off, you have to walk in for your first appointment. You have to be there before the place opens and hope you won't be turned away if other people got there before you. Then you have to wait hours after being let in for the walk in appointment to actually be seen.

Luckily, the day of my walk in appointment I was seen. 2 and a half hours after arriving. Then the actual visit was through a television meeting, essentially through Skype. The doctors are not even all there in person. That was fine for me, but the staff that is actually in the building was pretty unhelpful and even condescending at times.

Controlled substance medications are heavily regulated at this facility, and they require all of them to be shipped to the facility to pick up. Finding info on why my medication was late was pretty difficult because no staff would answer my calls and the front desk does not have access to that information. When I complained about the difficulty I had reaching the facility, the nurse I spoke to argued that I just didn't receive a call earlier because someone left a note that they called me. No one did.

The attitude of the staff when faced with my frustration did not ease my concerns. I was fed excuses to cover themselves rather than receiving acceptable medical care.

Due to the inconvenience and hurdles needed to get med management care at this facility, I decided to search elsewhere rather than waste my time. Very unprofessional service.

So I called a little over two months ago, I called to see if I could set up an appointment and I never got a call back. I am not even sure how they got my address information (which was wrong on the letter but my mailman knows me). I get a bill from them a few days ago for $180... I never even talked to these people and never signed any paperwork. what the heck... please for your own good, listen to these reviews and look elsewhere.

Very unprofessional long wait times they assign you a therapist but they don t like talking to you if you are having a crisis they feel like it s not their job. The lady was ok in person but took a total shift was rude as hell on the phone acting like I was bothering her.

We have been trying to get counseling for a young man at Oscar Smith for a few months now. About 3-4 weeks ago, a woman from CIBH called him to let him know she would be calling back to schedule an intake. She called from a blocked number, and never called him back. This young man is having a really difficult time right now, so we reached out again this Monday and someone did an intake that same day (hallelujah!) but then said they would call back to schedule his first appointment, and did not. It is now late afternoon on Thursday, and no call yet.
I have no doubt that CIBH is insanely busy right now, and probably short staffed. But PLEASE don't tell a young man who NEEDS your help that you will get back to him, and then don't do it. Now you are just another person in his life who doesn't do what they promise to do. Heartbreaking.

They came to my son's school to do some paperwork for an assessment. Fee's were never discussed and they never asked for my insurance. Now they are sending a bill of $211. Spoke to the billing department and they lied to me when they said I had signed the agreement; I have all the paperwork I signed and none says I signed and agreed to fees because it was done through the school. The supervisor then said she dismissed the fees but 2 weeks later I receive the bill again. They are trying to get my insurance and I won't give it to them. I am speaking to a legal team about this matter and it was brought to the higher up of the school. I will never do business with them, they are scammers and shady.

Just went to get a refill on my medication. I needed an emergency prescription. I waited to be seen. I overheard one of the nurses state she hates my doctor and all of her patients. I did nothing wrong. I simply hadn t made an appointment yet. She was complaining about it being 4pm on a Friday. They don t even close until 5. It wasn t the last minute or anything. She really shouldn t be working a job with people who have mental disabilities if she can t handle this kind of thing. I feel so disrespected and feel like I did something wrong when I simply ran out of meds. It was a minor inconvenience to her life.
