Location is right in front of the beautiful waters. Both valet and wait staff were extremely professional. I've also been told that their food has been improving every year so I look forward to the next time to done at this fine establishment

The ambiance at CBI is really lovely. It has a beautiful view of the ocean and the Chatham Bar. On this visit, the staff were a bit understaffed and it took awhile to get drinks on the patio. The attendant was really pleasant and friendly, she just had a lot of people to take care of and had to keep coming back because the bar didn't have drinks in stock.

A chic resort experience that delivers on its promise of excellent service and being quintessentially Cape Cod, albeit for a price. No doubt, the Chatham Bars Inn delivers as THE go-to hotel experience on Cape Cod, with fantastic ocean views and top notch service. Highly recommend taking in the scene at the beachside patio bar and restaurant - the bar staff conjure up fantastic cocktails and the menu is excellent. One cannot pass up lounging in the Adirondack chairs overlooking to beach area with a cocktail in hand. Disappointed by the beach area. Although it is a private beach for resort guest only, the water is less than enticing and the boat traffic is heavy and very close to the beach and swimming area. Chatham public beaches offer a more pleasant water experience - mind the sharks - so stick to the resort pool instead.

We stayed there for 4 days. Nice accommodations but there is a sense of highway robbery. We were paying upwards of $600 per room. Wanted to use the jacuzzi but was told that this requires a day pass which costs an additional $35. Clearly there is something wrong with this approach. I don t mind paying top dollar for a nice resort but when these resorts take a fleecing approach towards their clients due to seasonality or whatever other issues I strike them off my list. Goodbye Chatham Bars Inn.

I came here for a drink with three friends on a quiet Saturday night. We walked into the bar area to look for a seat. There were only two seats at the bar, so we asked if we could be seated at a table in the bar area. Now, this seems like an easy request, but for some reason we couldn't get a straight answer out of the two staff members we asked. One of the staff members was sitting nearby, socializing with some of the hotel guests, ignoring the rest of the patrons. So, we sat at a nearby table, unsure of where to place our order. The hostess was nowhere to be found when we had come in, but after a few minutes she came by and told us we were fine to sit at the table and that someone would be out soon to take our order. So we ordered drinks a few minutes later, no problem. We got our drinks, and 10-15 minutes later our server brought us the check. We were not even a quarte of the way through our drinks. We said nothing, but looked at each other in confusion. We had given no indication that we were only staying for one drink or that we were in a rush to close out, and our server had not even asked if we would like another round. So we were a little thrown by this, and felt uncomfortable. We let the check sit, as we were not planning to leave for a while. A few minutes later, our server came back to collect the check and we had to stop her from taking it because we had not put a card down yet. All of this made us feel unwelcome, and we tried to figure out the situation after leaving - was it our ages (We are all 22), was it the way we were dressed (sweaters and jeans, but we had not been the only patrons attired this way)? We couldn't quite figure out why we had received this treatment, but nevertheless we were left with a bad taste. The drinks were ok, nothing to write home about - New York prices but not New York quality. The restrooms were sorely disappointing for such a lovely hotel. (The valet gets 5 stars; he was lovely.) Overall, a bit of a strange experience. I would recommend this place for wealthy, white 50-somethings who enjoy making small talk in hushed tones.

EXCEPTIONAL Weekend! The stay was so much more than we expected, the staff were willing to go above and beyond. We had dinner in the stars restaurant my husband started of with the oyster stew and then had butter poached lobster, both were FANTASTIC. I had the clam chowder and the roasted chicken I would order the exact same things next time. While we were there we got approx. 14 inches of snow, they had a car service that would take us anywhere we wanted to go, house keeping still provided turn down service in blizzard conditions and when we woke up the next morning they had shoveled all around our car. The Chatham Bars Inn is ALL about the guests and making sure their every need is met.

We can't wait to go back,

My husband and I are staying in Cape Cod for the first time at Ocean Edge. We were told to come here for lunch. However, we were refused as we aren't staying at the property. I'm extremely disappointed and expected more from a place that boasts of their exceptional elegance. The restaurants weren't even busy and had many open tables. We were going to stay here at the end of September but instead we will never return.

This place is an absolutely gorgeous place to stay on Cape Cod.

The staff was extremely friendly and very very helpful.

The rooms were immaculately clean and very well appointed with great furniture, LG LED TV's, mini fridges and so forth. The bathrooms were squeaky clean.

This review is ONLY for the bars, specifically, the Bayview bar and the Veranda:

The food and drinks here are great! The Bayview bar is a really cute hidden spot to have drinks and look out at the water. The Veranda is a good spot for a mid-day snack, and the lobster nachos don't disappoint. The only down side is they're pricy, but hey, what isn't, if it's any good?

My kids and my mother are enjoyied. especial the pool and jacuzzi. It's a little pricey but the customer service, the view and the environment of the hotel are amazing. Definitely pay for what you get.

Came to CBI for the first time in 10 years and enjoyed lunch at the beach house with my wife. It was fun seeing what changed and what's still the same since I last stayed here.

The views are still breathtaking and the service very friendly and professional even though it was very busy as is typical for a summer week. There were also some nice updates including a new patio/bar area next to the Veranda (maybe this has been here for some time).

The food was nice the grounds are good the only thing that I don't like is that the pool and the beach are across the street. We stayed in a suite in the main inn. The view from the private balcony was great. It viewed the ocean. The private cabanas on the beach was nice. I like how the lobby has a library. It is great for a person who loves to read novels. I also liked the location. It was right near town which has many shops. I am going to try this place again.

Beautiful place. Very swanky. Reminds me of the wauwinet in Nantucket. Food is excellent. Staff is very professional. Pricey, as you'd expect. Bartenders don't seem to know much about the wine list or the cocktail list. The beverage list is put together by the food and beverage director. They didn't have the furmint btg available. No sommelier on premise.

Cottages were clean and beautifully furnished. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Parking could be improved. Had a few issues with the room that prevent me from giving 5 stars, but overall it was a good experience.

Great spot for a high end stay or just a deck visit for drinks & dinner or munchies. Lobster nachos fantastic. Beautiful venue for weddings- several dear friends married here over the years

While we waited for our table, we sat in a beautiful, peaceful cabana on the beach complete with pillows and a couch. We were seated under the awning of the boat house for our lunch and our waiter was very quick and helpful. The lobster roll, and the fish tacos were delicious and well portioned.

We didn't stay here but stopped by for some sangria and the view. Both were fantastic. We enjoyed a short-sit admiring the fishing boats, activity at the bars, and beautiful people. Tourist note, "the bars" refer to the sand bars off the north cut, (watch the movie The Finest Hour for a special treat)

This is as close to the perfect resort as you can find. A five star experience in every respect. Rooms are stunning, food is delicious and over the top, service is first rate - professional and bend over backwards helpful. I've stayed at luxury resorts all over the globe and the Chatham Bars in is world class in every respect. Kudos to Gary Thulander and his team for a job well done. We will be back!

My wife and I stopped in on our minimoon. We were just driving through looking around and the doorman told us to come on in despite our exercise clothes. There is one restaurant that has a dress code and one that is more casual. Excellent service, these people understand that it's all about the experience.
