When fist arrived at dealer location not a new car...

When fist arrived at dealer location not a new car salesperson in sight.The used car salesperson came over but advised he didn't know much about new cars and they were short staffed with new car sales people.Finally he put us on to the new car sales manager who we found to be very negative.We didn't make any deal and went to another dealership for a far better price.

Had a great experience here when looking for a new car. I dealt with a really nice bunch of salesmen over the phone and in person. Notable Russel and Ian. Very friendly and willing to go the extra mile.

So this score is only for the service department n...

So this score is only for the service department not any other part of the business as I have not dealt with them. So the last 3 services I have had have been terrible I got charged for parts they didn t use and yes they gave me a credit on the next service but still ,then they did the airbag recall and disconnected things they did not need to and left them disconnected and also left the A pillar trim not clipped in when I spoke to the service manager he just said the clips were old but yet this was the first time that trim had been pulled off. Then the last service they did a second air bag recall and when I got it home and went to put my service book in the glove box it fell of when I had a look as to why the clips that holds in place have been bent and broken I spoke with the service manager again and he just said that the car is old and that the glove had been out 15 times so now I have a broken glove box and I have to find someone else to service both my cars.

They were good when I first started getting my services but after a year or so when I had parts under warranty I would order it before my next service, then when I went for a service they were all " I'm sorry who did u speak to". And I had clearly remembered someone telling me over the phone we will have those parts here for your next service. Heads up to anyone record your call with Charlestown toyota

Please beware of getting your vehicle serviced her...

Please beware of getting your vehicle serviced here !!!!

We bought a Landcruiser and a Troop Carrier from this dealer, all was well, and they have been the dealership that we returned to on each occasion for the scheduled servicing for both vehicles.

The Landcruiser has not had any problems and so its been fine, but the Troop Carrier, which was also bought here brand new, has had numerous issues, which for the most part have just been ignored.

It was serviced four times, so far, the 1k, 10k, 20k, and 30k services, and the service technicians carried out tyre pressure checks and corrections, and tyre rotations, not one other soul on the planet has touched the tyres or valves, we have not taken it off road or changed the tyre pressures ourselves, and they can see that as soon as we purchased the troop carrier a large tool box was put in the back of the truck.

Our research since has shown that the tyres should have, on the rear been inflated to over 60 PSI, and because we have relied on Charlestown Toyota, who have inflated or checked the pressures and adjusted them every 10k during the service, you would believe that they know what they're doing and that the pressures would be correct....... WRONG, evidently they just inflate each tyre to 40PSI regardless of what the manual states, and furthermore, they rotated the tyres, such that the rear tyres were moved to the front, when they did this the tyres were already illegal due to the wear of the tyres being under inflated and so the wall edges have worn slick, whilst the middle of the tyre is still perfect.

SO this has caused within 30k for all four tyres to be illegal due to the incorrect pressures which the dealership set on every service.

On the last two services they have sent the troop carrier out with illegal tyres, first just the rear which they rotated to the front, and now all four are illegal, and they simply sent it back out without highlighting any issues, their servicing is extremely poor in this regard, their reply to the issue being raised was that they just inflate all tyres to 40 regardless of the weight, although on the last occasion they inflated the rear to 50PSI and documented that they did this, but its too late and all of the tyres are now bald, and they have said bad luck.

Its a disgraceful way to conduct a business, not only have they inflated the tyres to incorrect pressures and caused the problem, they rotated the tyres at the 20k service rear to front, and the rear were already bald on the edges and they did not raise the point or seek out why, just sent it back out, and now all four tyres are illegal and they have stated its not their problem.

You cannot rely on this organisation to look after your vehicle, and nor can you rely on them to do the right thing when they make mistakes and cause losses to their clients or customers, they don't care, and make excuses, such as " we don't weigh the vehicles", even though the very large tool box is in the truck, " we dont check if the tyres are illegal, nor do we advise the customer" and the evergreen " those ones wearing on the front is because they are on the front" where we now know they were worn on the rear and rotated to the front.

The experience we have had with them is extremely poor, and we will not be taking either vehicle back to them for servicing, nor will we be taking the others we have Hilux etc.

We will never again purchase a new vehicle from them, as they have treated us very poorly, and we would advise anyone who deals with them to be extremely cautious, and that it appears you have a duty yourself to not trust that they will look after your vehicle, or that they are doing the right thing for you, they do not even advise you of any issues such as incorrect tyre wear.

Please beware of this extremely shoddy servicing department and remember if they make a mistake, it is still your fault, just ask them.

Don t do business with this mob, they are dodgey. They don t follow standard business practices and don t honour their own quotes. They constantly hassle you, then when you email them they don t reply. I had a terrible experience and strongly advise consumers to shop at other Toyota dealerships.

Plan to buy a car in Charlestown Toyota, and a staff called Peter who was trying to sell a car to us but didn't let us know where did the that used car come from. I almost signed the contract before we found out that it was a used car from car rental company. And doors and rear light covers were damaged and we have to pay to fixed it up. Peter was cheating and trying to hid the problem until we found out by ourselves. He got angry and so rude after that. If some one plan to get a car, please find someone else.

Absolutely excellent service from my initial call to book my car in for a service for the first time with the team. Everyone was friendly when I arrived to drop my car off, asked questions about the car and if I would like anything specific inspected. I felt like a valued and respected customer! Barry who drove the courtesy van was amazing, great conversation and made me feel comfortable. The best part - the price! My goodness, it was so much less than I expected or was paying a different mechanic and you did WAY more and then some. Very thorough and worth every cent. Thank you again and I will be back, and using your services for all of my company vehicles as well :)

Good service. Can give you a lift to somewhere and pick you up when the car is ready. Feel like I overpaid for tyres though (had to change all 4 for $130ea; found the price of $82ea on the web later for exactly the same tyre).

My husband and I could not fault Charlestown Toyota on the service we received buying our car. Susan in finance and Stephen the sales person they made the whole process so easy. Never once got bothered with all of our questions and made us feel very comfortable. Would recommend Charlestown Toyota to anyone.

have to be the worst parts sales team ive ever encountered, just didn't want to help me after an almost 20min for someone to even acknowledge I was there then just seemed so uninterested in helping me, ive had good experiences before but the new people in the parts section are just terrible to deal with

We had amazing experiences at Charlestown Toyota.

We purchased a 2009 200 series Landcruiser in January 2019. The car was perfect until we had some issues with an electrical component on one of the turbos after towing our van to Yamba and back (It still got us up and back none the less - Toyota Reliability!).

After diagnostics and testing they pulled out the whole motor, replaced the turbo with all of this under warranty - no cost to us. Nothing was too hard, courtesy car was provided and the service was brilliant!

Special call out to Darryl and his team in sales as well as Jarrod, Shaun and their service team for treating our (new to us) car like their own.

I have never been a big fan of purchasing from dealerships but this experience will be the start of a long lasting relationship.

I'll happily recommend anyone to go there and purchase their next car as well as have it maintained by them.

If I could rate lower than 1star, I would! This is the second time we have been there and the service(lack of) is disgusting. We obviously don't fit the profile of 'new car buyers' we are mid 20s with 3 kids. First time we went there 2 years ago we were looking to buy a new car but no one came out of the office to assist us so we ended up buying a new toyota kluger from maitland toyota. We thought while we were in the area we would give them another go as we are looking to upgrade to a toyota prado and same scenario, my partner was just ignored by the sales staff!! Disgusting and rude.

Just received a fine from NSW Police due to my car being unregistered. I asked the used car salesperson repeatedly if he placed registration on the vehicle to which insured me he had. To further my annoyance I asked for the keys to have new batteries and did not happen. They now want me to take my car there for servicing when they can not do a proper pre delivery. Bad form

Just bought a RAV4 from the Charlestown Toyota 4 weeks ago was very happy with the service I received,Darryl Smith and Ian Hookway were a pleasure to deal with they were very helpful in answering all my questions. My car arrived when they said it would and they were terrific at the hand over explaining everything to me about the way the car operated. I have just been back for my 1000ks service and they both came out and asked how I was enjoying the car and to make sure I contacted them if I had any problems. I have already told my friends how friendly and efficient Charlestown Toyota were for me and it should be the first place they should go if looking for a new car.

What can be said about a car dealership. Staff were friendly and helpful. We didn't buy the car even though they did there best to sell it to us.
And without any problems they returned our no obligation deposit.
I have no hesitation in recommending this place to anyone.

Multiple bad experience in the service centre. The manager is unprofessional and tried to tell me it was ok to drive the car with a fuel tank leak and have my small child sit in the back. The fumes were unbearable. He told me just not to completely fill the tank up. After great debate he reluctantly gave me a hire cars until it was sorted.
When trying to find details to provide feed back about the service to Toyota they pass you round in circles.
If i had second time over I wouldn't of brought the car from them.

We thought we where getting a good deal till we discovered less than a year later that the toyota sales man sold us a car with a dodgy refurbished transmission... Went to a different dealer for a service and was told thats where all my issues are coming from and that i need to pay over $5,000 to get a toyota brand replacement... i will never recommend Charlestown Toyota.

The guys at Charlestown Toyota have been unbelievably helpful over the past week while I have been looking and purchasing a new car, as well as servicing an old car.

Ryan & Jarrad in the service team were helpful & easy to speak to about what needs to be done to my old rundown car, they were honest & trustworthy when recommending what would be the best steps to take to get the car working again.

Brendan & Russell from the sales team helped me look through a range of different models & assisted me with finding the exact car that was right for me. They were both easy to speak to.

Very very happy with my choice to service & but from here, and will continue to for the future.

Spent 100k there 10 days ago dealing with a used car salesmen by the name of Jon, was told they would correct a few minor scratches prior to pickup and in writing in an email.

Once i got home noticed a few scratches on the car still and he then told me not his problem and i should have gone over the car with a magnifying glass.

David his manager then emailed me telling me a person would contact me within 2 days and they would come out to fix them up, 10 days later still nothing!

Please don t buy a car from this dealership...
