The best bakery around town. The staff is always so kind and the food is delicious!
Great place!!! Various selections of breads w/ excellent coffee and teas. Good attraction to stop by!!!
The pastries in this place are phenomenal! Everything is very good, and great service to boot!
Fantastic sweets and coffee. Good place to sit and visit or work.
Best pastries in town....and the coffee is always fresh.
Great pastries and coffee, nice place to study or meet ftiends!
I've been here twice and both times I've been treated well by the friendly staff and enjoyed the pastries. The decor is really pleasant, I wish it were bigger, it was always busy and congested in here the times I've come-which I guess is a good sign that it is so popular. Lovely bakery and the prices are pretty reasonable, at least for the baked goods, I expected things to be much more expensive.
Good coffee, nice looking pastries. Too fattening for me.
Very busy and quite pricey. Coffee and Cookie bar were good.
Mochas just not really good but the pastry treats were very good. Sandwiches were just premade/prepackaged and kinda blah.
Def one of my favorite go to cozy places near msu/east lansing campus.. I really like their lattes, and desserts, they have a variety of. Options to choose from!!!
I m always so indecisive when it comes to choosing between menu options. The barista was super helpful and sweet. The pastries and drinks are excellent. Sure you pay a few more dollars than you would at a cheap-o coffee shop, but it s worth every dollar. Tip your barista! I recommend trying this place. Super cozy and cute. Great atmosphere and great location.
Outstanding praise! Good place for dessert afternoon tea! recommend
Mocha cake was fantastic! Atmosphere was very welcoming with very friendly faces.
Great pastries, baristas, and coffee
Many people flock there to study and do homework.
It has a comfortable, generally quiet environment and the workers there are very friendly
The desserts are pretty good. Come after a certain time in the afternoon and get 50% off danishes.
The coffee is okay, but there is a variety of small desserts from which to choose. If you have a sweet tooth, check this place out.
Nice quaint place. Stop there often when I'm in the area
It s nice and cozy, so it s a great place to lounge around. The wifi, however, isn t always reliable. But great drinks and pastries!
One of the best bakeries in the area, superior flaky danishes with cream filling. Good coffee and savory breakfast danishes are to die for.
Great selection of drinks and confections. A little pricy but as with most things in life, you get what you pay for.
Tasty, unique in the area, and clean. You can come with friends or by yourself to read/study. Good coffee. Great pastries.
Lovely and tasty pastries and baked goods in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Good coffee and espresso drinks. Lots of MSU students studying here though.
Wonderful atmosphere. The food is delicious. You can get two flavors in your Italian soda. My friend tried cherry caramel.
Love this place! Amazing coffee and friendly servers. I try to go when the students aren't around so I can get a comfy chair. Their macaroons are really great too!
Totally delicious deserts. Parking close can be challenging.
Pastries are good and coffee is amazing! If you want a cozy bakery/coffeehouse on the weekend search no further!
Whether it's cake, pastry, or coffee, you can't go won't with this place. It's also centrally located so there are lots of places you can stop for dinner first, then escape the noisey dinner crowd to chill with some cake and coffee. It is pretty close to campus and had free WiFi, which means it's a pretty cool place to go, but that also means it can be crowded with students studying at times (which isn't necessarily a bad thing).
Great place for a cup of coffee and a very nice pastry. The people are always very nive and helpful.
Delicious pastries and my chocolate covered strawberry mocha was soooo good!
This place has the most authentic French pastries in the greater Lansing area. A nice quiet place to study.
This bakery offers both "standard" style baked goods (croissants etc.) as well as a small assortment of goods found in bakeries in spots in w large Asian populations (California or Hong Kong for that matter) like red bean buns. The light cakes w whipped cream & fruit are good as are the mousse type cakes. Light and not too sweet. Several pastries go on sale after 7 pm -- a good time to stock up on breakfast treats. Sometimes though I've gotten a slice of cake that was clearly not fresh. Nice informal atmosphere but sometimes hard to get a table due to students working/studying. Quality of coffee drinks is average.
Sunday morning offered an older clientele, which is rare and welcomed in East Lansing. Amazing pastries, excellent atmosphere for reading or studying, friendly service, and pretty good coffee. I normally study at Bigby, but this place is so much better. Will definitely be back.
Really enjoyed this cozy cafe. The cakes are to die for, so light, fluffy, and delicious. Perfect ratio of creme, to cake, to fruit.
Chapelure has good coffee, but nothing stands out as exceptional or special. The prices are reasonable, under $5 for a large vanilla latte. They had a lot of pastries to choose from, but we were killing time before lunch. I'd definitely go back but I won't pencil it in or make a point to visit. Maybe that changes over time.
Amazing cakes and pastries. Congenial work environment.
I was amazed at how great this coffee/pastry place was!! The baked goods are out of this world and very European!
Busy, but the friendly staff made up for the weight.
I had a cappuccino and a pain au chocolat (or whwt they call a chocolate filled pastry). They were both really good! The service was great and fast too. It was a bit crowded by MSU students. The wifi worked seemed fast enough for all sorts of web browsing or online work.
I would definitely go again for a snack and coffee!
Excellent customer service! The two employees behind the counter were wonderful. They were both having fun, happy, and very knowledgeable about the menu. The cannoli and iced chi latte I ordered were delicious.
Decent coffee house with simply beautiful pastries and desserts.
We just returned from a trip to Paris and were on the hunt for some serious croissant and espresso. Others failed but Chapelure is legit. Thank you for filling our hearts and stomachs with flaky, buttery love!
Very friendly.. they custom my coffee how I used to it with patience! I had wonderful conversation with the girl who make the coffee!
Very nice place to stop in for dessert, coffee and chatting with friends. The servers were friendly and helpful and clearly enthusiastic about their products - which is fair, since they are fabulous! Our party enjoyed two types of brownies and tiramisu while there and also took goodies home to share with loved ones. This is the source of future dessert cravings!
Ideal coffee-date spot. cute, lots of seating, amazing pastries.
My husband and I like both Chapelure locations, but we drive a little further to specifically go to this one because the staff is so great!
Great place! Friendly staff, great coffee, and really tasty bakery. This is only my second day, and I've already loved the place!
The atmosphere is mostly college kids charging their devices or doing homework without having to buy anything. The coffee was decent, but the pastries are over-priced & not that great. I won't be going there again
I've been to Chapelure many times and it never fails to delight me.
I've tried so many of their pastries and it's hard picking my favorite.
The specialty coffees are all great, but I usually just get plain brewed coffee - it's the best I've found in Michigan.
The staff is unfailingly friendly and helpful.
The atmosphere is relaxing and enjoyable.
I have a secret - I'll often go there for breakfast and I bring a peeled hard boiled egg in a plastic sandwich bag so I can have protein to go with the fantastic sweet pastries. They do have ham and cheese croissants, but I often want the almond bear claw or something chocolate instead, so this works for me.
They know I do it, and they just smile.
1st visit was ok,2nd time my order was good....and being there today not a good experience. They only smile on your face as soon yoy leave they talk s@#t about you. They manager needs to hire new staff who doesn't have attitude and is professional.
Pastries are tasty in general, albeit being a bit on the pricey side. The staff is friendly and attentive, and they have offered me nice recommendations on goodies and drinks. A major drawback of this place as a college town coffeehouse is its very balky WiFi. It has usually taken my laptop dozens of unsuccessful attempts before it could somehow uncannily connect to their wireless network.
Frozen soy chai tea latte - delicious. Good pastries, too; better than Starbucks' or espresso royale's. Lots of power outlets.
Superb Columbian coffee and the butter croissant. Love it
