I've been here twice and both times I've been treated well by the friendly staff and enjoyed the pastries. The decor is really pleasant, I wish it were bigger, it was always busy and congested in here the times I've come-which I guess is a good sign that it is so popular. Lovely bakery and the prices are pretty reasonable, at least for the baked goods, I expected things to be much more expensive.

Omg.

I m always so indecisive when it comes to choosing between menu options. The barista was super helpful and sweet. The pastries and drinks are excellent. Sure you pay a few more dollars than you would at a cheap-o coffee shop, but it s worth every dollar. Tip your barista! I recommend trying this place. Super cozy and cute. Great atmosphere and great location.

Great pastries, baristas, and coffee
Many people flock there to study and do homework.
It has a comfortable, generally quiet environment and the workers there are very friendly

Whether it's cake, pastry, or coffee, you can't go won't with this place. It's also centrally located so there are lots of places you can stop for dinner first, then escape the noisey dinner crowd to chill with some cake and coffee. It is pretty close to campus and had free WiFi, which means it's a pretty cool place to go, but that also means it can be crowded with students studying at times (which isn't necessarily a bad thing).

This bakery offers both "standard" style baked goods (croissants etc.) as well as a small assortment of goods found in bakeries in spots in w large Asian populations (California or Hong Kong for that matter) like red bean buns. The light cakes w whipped cream & fruit are good as are the mousse type cakes. Light and not too sweet. Several pastries go on sale after 7 pm -- a good time to stock up on breakfast treats. Sometimes though I've gotten a slice of cake that was clearly not fresh. Nice informal atmosphere but sometimes hard to get a table due to students working/studying. Quality of coffee drinks is average.

Sunday morning offered an older clientele, which is rare and welcomed in East Lansing. Amazing pastries, excellent atmosphere for reading or studying, friendly service, and pretty good coffee. I normally study at Bigby, but this place is so much better. Will definitely be back.

Chapelure has good coffee, but nothing stands out as exceptional or special. The prices are reasonable, under $5 for a large vanilla latte. They had a lot of pastries to choose from, but we were killing time before lunch. I'd definitely go back but I won't pencil it in or make a point to visit. Maybe that changes over time.

I had a cappuccino and a pain au chocolat (or whwt they call a chocolate filled pastry). They were both really good! The service was great and fast too. It was a bit crowded by MSU students. The wifi worked seemed fast enough for all sorts of web browsing or online work.
I would definitely go again for a snack and coffee!

Excellent customer service! The two employees behind the counter were wonderful. They were both having fun, happy, and very knowledgeable about the menu. The cannoli and iced chi latte I ordered were delicious.

We just returned from a trip to Paris and were on the hunt for some serious croissant and espresso. Others failed but Chapelure is legit. Thank you for filling our hearts and stomachs with flaky, buttery love!

Very nice place to stop in for dessert, coffee and chatting with friends. The servers were friendly and helpful and clearly enthusiastic about their products - which is fair, since they are fabulous! Our party enjoyed two types of brownies and tiramisu while there and also took goodies home to share with loved ones. This is the source of future dessert cravings!

The atmosphere is mostly college kids charging their devices or doing homework without having to buy anything. The coffee was decent, but the pastries are over-priced & not that great. I won't be going there again

I've been to Chapelure many times and it never fails to delight me.
I've tried so many of their pastries and it's hard picking my favorite.
The specialty coffees are all great, but I usually just get plain brewed coffee - it's the best I've found in Michigan.
The staff is unfailingly friendly and helpful.
The atmosphere is relaxing and enjoyable.
I have a secret - I'll often go there for breakfast and I bring a peeled hard boiled egg in a plastic sandwich bag so I can have protein to go with the fantastic sweet pastries. They do have ham and cheese croissants, but I often want the almond bear claw or something chocolate instead, so this works for me.
They know I do it, and they just smile.

1st visit was ok,2nd time my order was good....and being there today not a good experience. They only smile on your face as soon yoy leave they talk s@#t about you. They manager needs to hire new staff who doesn't have attitude and is professional.

Pastries are tasty in general, albeit being a bit on the pricey side. The staff is friendly and attentive, and they have offered me nice recommendations on goodies and drinks. A major drawback of this place as a college town coffeehouse is its very balky WiFi. It has usually taken my laptop dozens of unsuccessful attempts before it could somehow uncannily connect to their wireless network.
