Not worth the money in any way. The service is horrible, the food is extremely disappointing and the atmosphere simply sucks.
Not worth the money in any way. The service is horrible, the food is extremely disappointing and the atmosphere simply sucks.
The service is pitiful. I waited more than 1h my dish, not counting drinks orders that take more than 20 minutes. No water filling. And when we talk to a busboy, it does not take any information to see with the waitress who is never available.
Also if you go for a meal, it is almost impossible to discuss.
The good thing is the food (from where a star), the dishes are very good.
Very delicious dinner. We ordered 4 entrees and they were all great.
Left us out dry on New Year s Eve because the system they used for reservation had a problem and they couldn t sit our party. A joke.
This place was so much fun. Ended a night of bar hoping here and left with new knowledge on campaigns and mouseux. Our bar tender was awesome! Really took care of us and explained the physique and culture behind Champaign. We left with a bottle made specifically for Montreal! Can't wait to go back on our next visit
My fav place in Montreal to celebrate any occasion! Either to have some drinks or eat an excellent dinner. Full recommended!
Great Atmosphere. Live Music Sunday night is NOT to be missed. Chill vibe. I'm told Saturday night is wall to wall busy. It was my first time. I will be back when I'm in this part of town!
Atmosphere, half-price bubbles on Wednesday evenings and excellent cuisine
Excellent restaurant with one of the best vibes in Old Montreal! The team is top notch, and the cocktails are excellent. But the best is the food ... the dishes are so good, beautiful, and original! Honestly, I tried almost the entire menu, and was surprise after surprise. Every detail is worked on, everything is fresh, and the prices are reasonable. I go now every month
Chic place, but ideal for celebrating! Good music and delicious cocktails. Possibility to saber yourself the bottle of champagne. Flat: very expensive.
Great place to enjoy bubbles and a great menu alone or to share. Impeccable service, top music, make it pop!
Went for a colleague's goodbye party. There were a lot of us, but we didn't feel overcrowded at all. Some champagnes were half off on Wednesday, a great deal. Very nice spritz as well. The seafood was also very good and the poutine to die for. The service was great and the DJ was phenomenal.
I went there one time for my friend's bachelor party and it was great. The staffs knew that we are doing a bachelor party so they are super nice. And super confortable to talk to. It is located in the old port. Perfect location to have fun. Specially in summer. I definitely recommend this place.
Really great service and wonderful cocktails! French passion was delicious, we got the beef tartare and it was good. Would definitely go again for the drinks.
great drinks, food is amazing, and service is impeccable!! gotta give a shoutout to sandy for really taking the time to explain everything to us throughly from drinks to food. will definitely return
Great champain selection. Small plate and expensive.
Nice atmosphere in a beautiful setting. Big blow of heart for the originality of the cocktails! I'll be back :)
The service is sharp and courteous, the food is simply amazing (try the seafood poutine you will have dreams about it) the place is clean and very well decorated perfect for a date to grab a bite or a drink, the "sabrage" of champagne bottles is a very fun and unique experience, definitely a must see/ must go in montreal for tourists as well as locals
My wife and I went for her birthday and had a fantastic experience. Sabering the bottle was a fun touch and we had the tasting menu which was a great way to try several different plates, all of which were delicious. The staff were great, but our waitress Alex was phenomenal. She made excellent suggestions and really made the night.
I would definitely recommend this place.
Good food but terrible drinks and hotific service and customer care.
1. We reserved months before for some bachelorette package which included some games and a polaroid camera, one champagne bottle and a fixed menu. Two days before our reservation, we are advised of new management and that they could not honor the package. Conveniently for them, we were in no position to relocate as we were a big group, two days before our event, during wedding season. We were told we would have two bottles instead of the games and camera and the menu changed slightly. I was not impressed that they couldn't honor a simple card game and a camera which was the sole purpose we reserved there.
2. When the waiter brought us the wrong drink, there was some back and forth for way too long about what went wrong. Almost as if, we forgot what we ordered. Although not convinced, the waiter took back one drink and never came back with my correct order, meanwhile I can see it sitting on the bar. Some people in our group ordered and received their drinks in this time and mine was still sitting there. "Excuse me, I still have not recieved my drink", "Yes we are making it". A few minutes later 'Excuse me..." "Yes we are still making it"...?!?! Then he goes on to grab my, now watered down, Aperol Spritz sitting on the bar for 30 minutes and brings it to me.
3. The drinks were poorly done. Either they underserve or water down the alcohol. When we asked the waiter why three of the other drinks tasted like virgins, he went on to explain that you're not suppose to taste the alcohol in a "good" drink. I felt this was a little condescending as a full grown woman whose had plenty of cocktails in my life but THIS one is my first proper cocktail
Overall HORRIBLE customer service, my family has been running successful restaurants in and around Montreal for over 30 years and this service is not acceptable.
Great cocktails, sparkling saber to try! Chic restaurant and good evening!
Great location and atmosphere, the champagne was good and being able to sabre the bottle was awesome. The food was ok. I would recommend going for wine and appetizers.
It is a great place but does not fit the cost benefit parameters. It is pricier than it should be. Cutting a champagne bottle with a sabre is not really a reason I'd want to pay more for everything. It doesn't help that I am not into champagne and wine ;-)
Good friendly staff.
If you have to go somewhere, it's fine here! An exceptional place!
OMG!!! Wonderful place. Excellent service and food... oh wow!!! The best gnocchi that I've ever had in my entire life. Delicious!
Oyster also amazing!
Loved it so hard.
Loud and pricey, but really good food, and fresh fish plates. Try raw fish and ceviche, worth it.
Terrible.... My expectations were so high when I walked in. Restaurant looks amazing but that s about it. Arrived at 9pm and took one whole hour to get the food menu. They offer for you to saber your champagne bottle but the waiter placed it upside down in the ice bucket before hand, making us lose about 100$ worth of the champagne when it popped open. We got served with the first course of our meal approximately 2 and a half hours after our arrival and after all the groups and other people who arrived after us. 2 and a half hours to prepare oysters, burrata and salads!!! The oysters had absolutely no water in them making me question their freshness. Shrimps in the shrimp rolls were raw. Scallops had sand in them. In the end....for the fortune we paid...don t bother. On the other hand, if you just want to go for drinks, it seems to be a decent place.
Very nice ambiance and a large variety of music, a bit small but overall very nice place.
Great atmosphere, good menu with very courteous service. Not necessarily cheap and parking very difficult (like everywhere in the old port) but a great experience in the summary
We went around midnight. There were a few empty table. We took one and orderd one of my favorite bottle of wine. Than the waitress tells us that we cant stay at that table unless we order something more expensive than a bottle at $120. She didnt even wait to see if we were going to order 20 bottles.
That is BAD BAD BAD customer service. I've been talking about going to your bar for months. Now I'm won't even mentioning it to anyone.
We were group of 6, went there for drink. We asked for drink menu and waiteress told us tell what you want! I said cocktail and she said ok what you want we have everything! Which didnt make sense to me and I said I like to see menu and then with too much attitude she handed the menu which was over 10 pages!! She was pushing just to get ride of us to have rotation for her table and get more tips. I ordered old fashion, the bar tender make something which was not really old fashion and used cheapest whisky and didin't give me any option.
Beautiful place. Great cocktails and obviously champagne selection. Good place for a date.
Book 3 weeks in advance for a "table" for a group of 8 for a birthday. Arriving there and being "seated" on a corner of the table, no chair sticking on the hostess desk, being stared at by the staff with a haughty attitude is unacceptable. The nicest person we were able to chat with was the receptionist when booking
Awesome food, if a bit spicy. But only barely, IMO.
Nice place to go to have great food, a unique experience in town Champagne Sabrage and spend the rest of the night!
We organized a corporate event for 200 people and the evening went perfectly! The food was delicious and the Champagnerie team was really extraordinary, especially Margot, Walid, Antoine and Olivia, who were available and listening throughout the evening. Honestly, we organize a lot of events, and the level of service and friendliness of the employees of the Champagnerie is truly exceptional!
Great location, outstanding service and my personal favorite - they let you sabre champagne bottles!
Location top !!!
The waitress was really friendly and very nice! and the setting really great!
I will return with pleasure!
Very cool place! You can cut your champagne! Our waitress was very friendly and she advised us. Very good food and champagne too! We will definitely return to taste the cocktails!
Nice experience at this restaurant bar specializing in champagnes and sparkling wines. Extensive and impressive sparkling wine list in addition to the fact that we can slash our own bottle. If I can allow myself a constructive comment on the other hand, it would be good to install the sabrage station somewhere other than in the entrance where there is excessive back and forth. The person who slashes still has a blade in his hands and an accident could occur. My friend got shoved in the back with no mowing consequences, but that's why I imagined the worst. Other than that, very professional and courteous service, chic and trendy atmosphere with good music. The restaurant turns into a bar / club after 11 a.m. to midnight. The food is good there too and the prices are very reasonable! Perfect for an upscale evening with friends! We will definitely be going back.
Superb! Brilliant atmosphere on Friday definitely the best DJ in town, DJ Evangelos!
I slashed champagne like a pro the first time. The place is intimate but festive. Accessible to all budgets.
Amazing, amazing experience. Love this spot and never miss it when I'm in Montreal. Selection is great and the staff is super knowledgeable.
Excellent spot... right on rue St Paul... awesome music and awesome hosting... cool enviroment
The preamble: In fairness to restaurants we didn t care for, we have omitted reviewing them. If your restaurant doesn't have a review on our board, we either didn t love it, or we haven t eaten there yet. If you are interested in having us dine at your establishment, send us a note and well get you on our list for future meals. We re not here to trash the restaurants we believe have some work ahead of them, rather to applaud the restaurants we feel are above the bar.
Ok, so despite the sometimes cheesy gimmick of being able to de-cork your champagne bottle with a "sabre", this sometimes lively place has a great environment and consistently good food. We have been twice now, once on a VERY busy weekend evening, and another on a VERY quiet weekday evening (keeping in mind St-Paul was under heavy construction at the time and the traffic was very slow at that end). The servers were excellent on both occasions, and the food was likewise. They have an unusually extensive champagne menu, and some creative cocktails as well. We tried the flame broiled octopus appetizer, followed by one of the best lobster poutines I have ever had. We should mention that the Lobster poutine was laden with perfectly cooked chunks of filet mignon, generous serving of lobster, and sauced with cream and marscapone! We also had the pasta with sea urchin roe, which was unbelievably flavourful, and not what we would have expected (having eaten raw urchin roe on many occasions), the cooking really imparted new flavours to the roe. Thankfully there was an abundance of champagne to cut the richness of these two dishes.
Outstanding service from Charlotte (French girl) and tasty, unique Poutine with filet mignon & lobster, and borata starter.
Extensive champagne list. Very cool atmosphere. Friendly & helpful staff
Worst restaurant I ve been to in Montreal. You d expect it to be a great place considering there s nothing on the menu cheaper then 30$ ... ordered a filet mignon, (45$) came 1 hour late , food was frozen, and service was extremely slow... forgot to mention that we were a group of 10 people and everyone s food was cold. When I asked the waiter to bring back the filet mignon and bring another one, he brought back the same one just heated in the microwave.... terrrible terrible place to go have dinner, would of rathered a cheese burger from McDonald s .... do not recommend this place.
Amazing place, good music but you need to get there before 11 if you plan on getting in. Otherwise pull out your credit card at the entrance for bottle service.
Worst service...we had dinner there and we went to smoke outside. When we came back, the security guy asked us to leave our coats at the 'coat check' while we obviously had our purses at the table. He asked us to talk to his superviser but he didn't understand more...After arguing he said we will do an exception...like what exception? We just paid an expensive meal that were not even fully satisfied...
I loved this place! The service, ambience, food and of course champagne were all incredible. I would definitely recommend this place, The location is great too in the old port of Montreal. Just beautiful! I ll be back that s for sure!
Great ambiance. Centrally located in the old port of montreal, you just try they re insane selection of champagnes and delicious dishes. Amazing music as well, especially during 5a7!
We were there to drink the glass of the stirrup, a beautiful place with a retro atmosphere. Excellent wine list. A must visit place!
Wait staff was super friendly when ordering drinks, but while we were deciding on what to eat, they never came back to check on us. We made visible eye contact plenty of times and they even went to check on other tables, but left us alone for about 20 minutes until we decided to just get the bill and leave.
The place is beautiful, the bites that were offered were very limited for a vegetarian like me. The music was bad Until 11am after the music got good but I had to leave. The drinks are super good and the bartender would make them quickly.
A lot of fun especially opening the champagne with the sword but the food is a bit expensive
Nice place to spend Saturday night. You can make reservation by internet. Cuisines and vins are very nice and not so expensive. Servers are very kind.
I have already been there and appreciated (hence the 2 stars instead of 1). When I wanted to buy a gift certificate over the phone, I was asked for a copy of my credit card, I thought a joke. Disappointed but too bad.
Food is good,, but the idea of sitting on bar stools for supper..... Not my thing
The place to taste good champagne by the glass on the excellent advice of the staff
