Good food. Definitely check out the relaxing, cool...
Good food. Definitely check out the relaxing, cool back porch. Service was iffy, but overall, good place. We hit it up regularly in Alpine

Stopped in for dinner after a full day in Big Bend. Cool historical building, cozy vibe. The menu offered a nice selection for our family. Our server was delightful. Wine list is solid for a steak dinner.
They have great food. Try the rack of lamb. The service is friendly.
Kind of a strange mix of "it's a locals place" and "it's a visitors place". If you want to eat there be sure to get reservations ahead of t.
VERY SLOW SERVICE! :(
delicious brunch options!
The only vegetarian option is a veggie burger - if you don't see it in the menu, ask for it.
The Century Benedict gets 5stars - lovely hollandaise. :)
Great food and ambiance. The bar area can be a little noisy when it gets crowded. There can also be a wait to eat during the high season.
It's a shame to have to give this place such a low rating really, I've eaten here before and it was good but the experience we had at Sunday brunch was terrible. My daughter's burger, ordered medium, was cooked until it was crunchy. My wife and son ordered the steak and eggs, steak medium rare, and both came out medium well. Our boy, being a seventeen year old that eats anything and everything, ate his steak but my wife asked for another. The second steak came out just as bad as the first. It was at this point that our server, who had been very attentive, disappeared. I think she knew how bad the food was and didn't know how to handle it. My wife spoke with a manager who, instead of removing the inedible meals from our ticket, offered a paltry 20 percent discount on those three plates. We never again saw our waitress and finally had to ask for our ticket so we could pay and leave.
If you want to go back in time 100 years ago a Wildly famous West Texas regional cattle barons
Hotel this is it. Wet bar, billiard room big city style. #PuntWW
Love this place GREAT CUSTOMER, Ashley is great at bar and awesome as waitress. We come from Midland, Texas and always stop to see Ashley.....food is great, make your room reservation in advance.
It was one hour from ordering until our food arrived.
I work here love the people and the food that includes my colleagues and bosses!!
I had the rib eye melt on focaccia with a side of the most delicious Brussels sprouts I've ever tasted. Both were out of this world. What a treat!
I ordered the salmon which was absolutely delicious. Candice was a gem
Our server Lauryn was excellent and the food was perfect! Gorgeous place to eat!
Awesome food and bloody Mary's. A must for those that want good food and good service. Try their Brunch on Sunday's.
Outstanding dinner experience, food was wonderful, ambiance impeccable, worth every cent.
I have never been disappointed here! Always delicious!!
Bit of a wait, but it was Friday night. My Bourbon St. pasta dish had a light and peppery white cream sauce and perfectly grilled slices of chicken breast, andouille sausage and grilled jumbo shrimp. A first class dish!
I went to The Century Bar and Grill last week with my boyfriend, and it was great! I got the chicken fried steak with brussel sprouts and shells and cheese. It was delicious!!! I love the brussel sprouts there; they REALLY know how to make them. My boyfriend's steak was cooked perfectly, which can sometimes be difficult to find in restaurants in the area. The staff is so awesome. I make this a once a month dinner, if I'm able to
I got the half baked chicken with mash potato and mushroom aus ju. The chicken was exactly that, half baked. I told them the chicken was undercooked and they gladly took the dish back to redo it. I understand mistakes can happen sometime however , when the dish was returned, the chicken was still not cooked! The meat was still stringy and pink! With how much this place cost, I should not have to worry about consuming undercooked poultry! The wait staff did not even apologize. With a mistake like this, I'd expect the chef to personally apologize for their crucial mistake.
Food was overpriced and way too greasy, the service and the atmosphere was ok.
(Warning: young adults from central Florida in for vacation) It was a FANCIER ATMOSPHERE WITHOUT BEING STANDOFF-ISH or unbearingly pricey EXCEPT FOR THE ATTITUDES OF THE STAFF we ran into who seemed stressed or ignoring of us. I don t know if we looked out-of-place (I didn t think so) or young for the demographic, but they had a slightly off-putting tone. However the food was great. Hubs took the TEXAS FLAT IRON STEAK (on a seriously thick bed of Green Beans) the Steak was lightly seasoned allowing it to shine through the light Merlot demi-glaze. My VEGETABLE NAPOLEON WAS A GREAT STEAK ALTERNATIVE- a stack of grilled Tomatoes, Zucchini, and Asparagus on a delicious Red Pepper Coulis. I didn t miss Meat at all while eating this.
Menu is n restaurant was nothing like online menu. Will give them time to make changes, then try it again. Still excellent service!
Only disappointment in trip to Alpine...food was late and cold. Way overpriced...just gets 1 star because manager sort of made it better. My tamales from porter grocery store was a better dinner.
Braised bison short ribs were amazing!! Can't wait to have this dish again!
Delicious food but expensive for what it is. Staff ka courteous. Seating is usually available . Outdoor patio was great
Service is friendly. We opted for the non-cowboy cuisine, not the best decision. Stick to the basics.
I ordered pork tenderloin well done. The waitress asked if it could be butterfly. I agreed. What I got was a absolutely burned beef tenderloin that looked like a piece of charcoal. The specialty side was asparagus. It looked like tiny strings
My husband ordered Rib Eye. It was over-cooked with no taste. He said it was worse meal he has had in his life
Good but super pricey. Definitely an impress your date spot
I read all the reviews and came for dinner with an open mind. The atmosphere, food and waitstaff was beyond fabulous. Not sure why anyone would share a review less than 5 stars...prices were a bit high but the value was more than adequate. Enjoyed a burger and my husband had steak - both were very, very good. We will definitely be back every time we come to Alpine, and strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience.
Excellent deviled eggs. The chicken fried steak was really really good. Service was great. I left fat and happy!
Favorite in town. A perfect place for a mama & son lunch date
Worst customer service by the hostess and the restaurant staff I have ever seen in my entire life. We tried to get a table for dinne, mind you we are staying at this hotel, and they ignored us for half an hour and then told us they just assumed we were with the band really I m not gonna spend this kind of money to be treated like this. A freakin joke of a staff, I spoke to the manager and she was as in appreciative of our visit as anyone. She actually told us unless we flag them down we will not be served(as we sit in the restaurant courtyard after the bar staff told us where to sit ), I will never recommend this hotel or Restaurant !
Amazing atmosphere. Quality staff. The food is well prepared and thought-filled. A HUGE FAN of this place.
Yummy food & fun atmosphere! Loved the beautiful outdoor dining area.
Some drinks on the pricier side ($14 for a bit of Bookers!) But a friendly place in a great historic hotel.
Very friendly & our meal was ready in no time. They need someone more experienced to make their cocktails. The hot ma'am tasted like Theraflu to much lemon.
Great place with some rich history and atmosphere. Food is top notch made with high quality ingredients and great taste. Love to eat out on the open air back patio. They have nice one of a kind bar drinks. Catch it on the right time and you'll experience some world class entertainment as well. A must stop when visiting or coming through Alpine.
Food was delicious! My husband and I both have food allergies (gluten and dairy) and the chef was very accommodating. Service was good. Did have to wait a little bit on the food, but this isn't a fast food place so not a big deal.
UPDATE: We returned to this restaurant the next evening after having a great experience. Not so great the second time around. They messed up our order, nearly making one of us sick. My husband has a dairy allergy. They put dairy in his dish and ran out to try and catch him before he ate anything. But he had already eaten some of it. Then, as we were trying to get the check, their computer system went down. We waited for an extra half hour after our meal before we could leave. They did try to accommodate us by offering a free drink but still....30 minutes was kind of annoying.
Fantastic food! I have never been disappointed here! If you are vegetarian, there is always an option on the menu for you. However, if you are gluten free, things get a little more difficult. You can usually tweak something to your liking, though!
We come down from Fort Davis to eat here several times a month. Lobo Burger is the best burger in 3 counties. We usually eat in the bar. Service is good when busy and excellent when not.
High price, BUT it reminds me of fine dining in NYC. EVERYTHING is made from scratch right down to the amazing Ketchup. This place is really one of a kind. Food is delicious, best burger I've had in a long while, Burger was only thing I could really afford on the menu but still, it's worth going to check it out.
Good food, took a while to get it, but prices are great.
Excellent food and service at this bar and restaurant inside of a historic hotel. Prices are not cheap, but everything was delicious. We sat inside due to the hot temperatures, but there's a beautiful courtyard with a fountain where you can sit outside. I've been told they have live music some nights too.
Came for dinner and had a great time. Good food and nice people!
A very good meal. I had the chicken fried steak. This is some of the best mashed potatoes I've ever had. The service was a little slow initially , but it was probably due to the day before Thanksgiving so I was okay with that. Make sure you call ahead for reservations.
Way too much Hype!!! You can't charge such a high price for Sub Par "prime rib". Besides it wasn't Prime, it was easily lower grade Choice...looks they tore a piece of saddle bag off and called it medium rare!
Good place getting a drink at the bar, or a bite to eat. Nice options and food choices, along with wine options.
Ok, so the bar is solid, no doubt. But, I'm staying at the hotel as a guest, and I decide to try the restaurant. I order an app and main course. At least 30 minutes pass and nothing
I have to ask the bartender and she returns to say that the chef got me "mixed up with another table." Had I not asked who knows how long i would have waited. I actually felt bad for her having to give me a BS excuse. This is not fine dining, I walked across the street to the little Italian joint, their food is great and their service is miles ahead.
I m a regular... I love meeting the people who make it out to this remote oasis from all over the world... Great conversation and sharing of experiences! Food is very good and the staff is excellent! A great experience!
Love the history and the preservation of the place.
Verry good food service is good but the portions are small for high prices.
Not bad. Everybody kind of seemed overworked and stressed out. Food was good and its the only place open on Sunday. Much, much better since the change of management.
Not biker friendly at all. 6 of us were refused entry. So we went across the street to have some really awesome pizza and a couple of beers. By the way our waitress recieved $230.00 tip. Will NEVER spend our money at the century. Absolutely the rudest place I've ever been to..
Century Bar and Grill is our usual "go to" place. Prices are on the higher end in Alpine, but the food is excellent. They have a full bar offering a large assortment of adult beverages.
Band was good, Century Bacon Burger was awesome, pina colada was great, waitress Savannah was awesome
Had dinner here on February 17th. We were seated in a booth right by the kitchen prep area even though there was no one else in the restaurant yet. Noisy and the cooks were loud. Baked potato was hard (undercooked), chicken fried steak was fair and came with a small amount of gravy. Got one refill of iced tea and at that point there was no ice left in the glass.
The food was fine, but the service was really great!
Food was outstanding, service was a little spotty. Not a knock on the restaurant, but some of the patrons need to learn what 'smart casual' means. Not sweats and a ball cap for dinner on a Friday.
A little pricey, $20 for a hamburger, but well worth it! Nice atmosphere. We had great service. Would not recommend bringing little ones! Definitely will return!
Wonderful historic building, beautiful restaurant, personable staff, great food, good wine list. Kudos for the vegetarian offering! It wasn't just dinner out, but an event.
Service was slow, after waiting for over 30 minutes our appetizer final arrived (spinach artichoke dip) it was barely warn and tasted like it was pre-made or out of can! Prices are extremely high, and the wait staff was in there own little world.
Horrible. The hostess, Jordan was too busy talking to friends (7 minutes before she greeted us, the bartender had to get her attention) and answering the phone to help us. Once she decided to acknowledge us she walked around for 10 minutes and said nope can't seat you until (8:45) is was 6:33. We said no that's ok can we sit at the bar and eat, "NO". We left and will never and I mean ever go back. I just opened a business in town and would never treat my customers the way she treated us.
Great experience as always! Drinks and food awesome!
Good food, but a little pricey for what you get. Service is good.
The Century Grill is a solid option for food and/or drinks. The food is fairly upscale. The Holland Hotel also has one of the two full bars that I know of in Alpine (the other being the Saddle Club).
We were happy to find a place that is taking covid seriously! Everyone wore a mask and social distanced. We were able to be seated far enough from other patrons we felt very comfortable.
The drinks were quick and well made! The courtyard dining area was beautiful with twinkling lights and a waterfall. We loved our food chicken fried steak and an ancho chili flatbread with shrimp. We could have eaten three more servings of the flatbread, it was incredible.
Very nice waitstaff that was quick and attentive! Would return.
Great food, drinks and service. Classic go to place.
The Burger of the Century, cooked medium, was perfect. Great wine selection and a fantastic staff made this place a return destination.
Great bartender by the name Keanna works there and does a great job.
Took family for a visit. Food was mediocre at best. Definitely not worth the money paid. Kids menu burger starts at 9 dollars we added bacon and cheese to this 1/4lb burger and it ended up being $15.00, which was $3 for a slice of American cheese, and $3 for the bacon. Same overall cost as their 2/3lb or 10oz signature burger. I brought it up to our waitress, and all that was said is " yeah, i think thats high too". Overall, was not at all impressed, definitely will not go out of my way to go back. I gave the extra star because the bar has a decent whiskey, and beer selection.
The beer wasn't expensive and the bar area was very nice.
Awesome food and excellent service, definitely recommend
