Centre Shaw Centre Review

Great space, though often gives the appearance of being run down.

Although I had an awesome prom night here last summer, I could not enjoy it to the fullest since I was unable to find Shaw after hours of searching. Will resume the search someday.

This is a huge venue. It is a wonderful example of modern architecture and looking outward it provides great views of key landmarks in the Capital (e.g. Rideau Canal, Senate Building, Parliament Hill, Chateau Laurier). It was well suited to the awards and speaking event (a morning event) that I recently attended there.

It has great architecture; situated downtown, close to many hotels and sites. Seating outside the halls was extremely limited! Very poor WiFi for a provider (and I am 1 of their customers ). Right beside a large mall for shopping and food.

This is a great expansion of the original convention centre, and a great addition to Ottawa. Fabulous design that features "Buckminster-Fuller style" glass exterior overlooking World's Largest Outdoor Skating Rink, and UNESCO World Heritage site. The meeting rooms and common areas are exceptional, and the entire facility is connected to the Rideau Centre, a high-end shopping mall featuring Nordstrom and other fine shopping chains. Steps from the Parliament of Canada, and the trendy Ottawa Market with restaurants galore.

I've attended several events here at the Shaw Centre and I'm always impressed by the service of their staff, the versatile facilities and the spectacular view you have from every floor. The building is in a prime location near transit, More

Good, well equipped convention center, conveniently located.

Clean. Nominal fee for cost check in, but there is a big line to get the coat after the conference (about 30 mins). Good for mingling though.

Nice place well organized access by bus is better then parking.

Good location. Various halls with different seating for conferences and events. Large dining hall. Access to Rideau Centre direct. Coat check on first floor. Escalator and elevator available. Beautiful view of Parliament.

Beautiful place with helpful staff. Very spacious inside and really well designed.

Excellent experience here for both a Christmas party and for the Ottawa race weekend expo. The staff here are top-notch. The food for the Christmas party was amazing. The prime rib was literally sooo good that I made a note about it!

Went to a great event. Easy to find and get in, parking wasn't bad either.

Nice places for events in Ottawa. Lots of configurations possible, with good amount of washrooms and a few coatcheck options. Direct access to underground parking lot is nice too. Would prefer if the chairs were slightly larger, as I m a tall person who finds them a bit narrow and unsupportive for longer thighs.

Nice centre, tough to find if you're not used to it....... From the parking to the centre itself..... However, beautiful centre once you're in.

My husband and I had our wedding reception in the Trillium ballroom of the Shaw Centre and we were absolutely blown away by the staff and service that we were offered at this venue. Our guests were delighted by the exceptional food and had a great time! To our incredible event manager Vanessa Plante...you made our day flawless. If we could pick one person who smoothed ever ruffle and patched every hole, it would without a doubt be you! You were a dream to work with and we highly recommend you to anyone desiring a flawless event!

Mark Gordon and his staff treated us like kings and queens during the night, offering us beverages, (getting fruit plates for me!), and were all-around an exceptional team to work with. Congratulations on a job well done!

Ottawa's canalside convention centre in Ottawa's city center within reach of Parliament, the Rideau Shopping Center, the hopping Byward social district, and a slew of hotels. Exciting architecture pleases the eye, and its central situation ticks all the boxes for convention goers. Nice find.

The Shaw centre is beautiful. Spacious. Many halls to run parallel sessions are available.

Nice conference centre with high quality service and a beautiful, modern design.

Food selection was poor for lunch
Trays were on other side of room no where to be seen and Attendent told me there was none until I found one after sitting down

An excellent place to hold a conference or event. The large and glassy nature of the building means there is excellent natural light. So much space and many rooms.

Fantastic convention hall attached to the Rideau centre. Great glass front to the building providing breathtaking city views from inside.

Another Ottawa monstrosity of architecture disconnected from its surroundings. There's not even an entrance on the side facing the Transitway.

This is where most Ottawa employment fares take place.

In my opinion the Ottawa Convention Centre boasts one of Ottawa' best views of parliament. The facilities are well laid-out and staff is friendly.

Only downside, no blinds on the stunning wall of glass, meaning daytime conference presentations can be difficult to see.
