It felt so intimate to view your Yom Kippur services on line and at Central, rather than the cavernous Lincoln Center. I was more able to meditate and think deeply. I also found the dancing quite interesting. Congratulations, Rabbi Buchdahl and all, for trying new things. So many of them worked. To Your Best Future, Faith Popcorn
A lot of history and a very interesting building. It is one of the oldest synagogues in the United States. The building is in Moorish style. There is no charge to visit the building.
We did not return, but the building slice of others!
I spent Yom Kippur services online with C S since I could not attend a service in person. I always belonged to and attended a Conservative or Modern Orthodox Congregation. At times both at the same time. I was extremely impressed with the Central Synagogue website service and the clergy.
Great pre school my granddaughter loves her teachers and classmates
We had great experience at the Central Synagogue, attending and performing at a naming ceremony. The building is very beautiful inside, it's very spacious and great for religious events. Thank you for having us!
What a joy to be able to attend services from home. The 2 rabbis are absolutely wonderful and the cantor is impeccable. Now I must get ready for the afternoon service! Thank you to all at Central Synagogue
Absolutely stunning synagogue and beautiful services. Thank you for streaming services at this trying time. May G-D Bless each and every one who participated in the current High Holiday services. L Shanah Tovah Hilda & David Wajnberg
GREAT Rosh Hashaneh service. My first on line holiday.
Amazing. Breathtaking. Welcoming. Beautiful Singing. Loved it!!
Beautiful building. Services are the caliber of a broadway musical.
A magnificent Temple and a terrific Rabinical staff . The Friday night service is a joy to attend and if you love music do not miss it. Uplifting. Howie S.
Am devout Catholic who recorded Yom Kippur services for non-practicing Jew in my household. I was riveted. Watched the entire service. Feel so blessed. Blessings to all.
On tv fantastic like synagogue in Florence and Rome Berlin
Great to see it among those higher buildings in the middle of the city
I am looking forward to visiting soon. Until we meet I will streaming Rosh Hashanah with you. Shabbat Shalom!!!
I just love the architecture of this building. It puts a smile on my face each time I pass it. It was built between 1870 and 1872 in the Moorish Revival style. It was supposed to be a copy of the Dohany Street Synagogue in Budapest, Hungary.
I went this midday, very nice people and assome place!
I am morally obligated to write this review. I am a Muslim and today i prayed inside the Synagogue. Our Mosque across the street was closed due to fire. When we had no place to worship, Synagogue opened the door for us, and hundreds of Muslims completed their Friday prayer. Special thanks to Rabbi and every member of the Synagogue.
Beautiful, Gorgeous and the community is very welcoming! Great clergy and services!
Loving services with beautiful music and perceptive Torah commentary.
Love this site, you're able to get live shabbat services!
Last year due to a knee operation I was stuck in my home. Was able to watch services and listen to the rabbi speech. This year covid has prevented going out.Thank you for your positive talks and wonderful service.Hope to be able to visit and see in person your Temple.
Words can not express how up-lifting your service has been. May God Bless you all.
The most Beautiful Holiday Services Every Year. Very meaningful and filled with lobe
I am physically prevented from attending in person religious services due to disabilities and diseases beyond anyone's control it seems. I was able to fulfill obligations of the holiday season on line with joy.

Magnificent building, beautiful service! I come from the oldest reform temple west of the Mississippi River . I was just wondering.....I thought our Temple was about as reformed as one could get, but yet, the Rabbi and Cantor wear a Yalmalka as do those reading from the Torah. (Along with a Tallis) More and more people now wear yalmakas too and some a Tallis. Yes we are still Reformed Jews, but tending to hold on to traditional too. Maybe it s just a New York thing. Just respectfully wondering.
What a beautiful building! Even if you don't worship here, this is an amazing place to see.
You can visit at certain times. Emblematic place of prayer.
Beautiful space for worship and the entire congregation welcomed us to sing with them. Marvelous community.
It is the oldest synagogue still in use in NYC. It stands out in the central Manhattan with its two golden domes, built in the late nineteenth century, in pure Moorish style. one of the most beautiful Jewish places of worship that New York has.
I enjoy service via streaming JBS on Fridays & every Holiday. Can t wait to visit! Shabbat Shalom!
This place is amazing. The leaders of the service have amazingly beautiful voices and can play the guitar really well. You think you are in a Broadway show.
Magnificent !!!! We leave full of energy, positive and full. The place is beautiful architecturally
Thank you for your gift of live streaming. Angela W. Buchdahl, Mo Glazman Julia R. Cadrain, Ari S. Lorge are exceptional.
a great place to pray. Super warm and friendly with a Moroccan vibe. Very liberal and could live without the political agenda sometimes, but i love that they stream their services and when in person, it is such a wonderful experience with the music and variations of instruments. The rabbis are fantastic and i look forward to their shabbos services when in town.
Beautiful synagogue - worth a visit. Liberal clergy and congregation who are welcoming.
Jewish religious space in the center of Manhattan and guarded at street level by the police, allows visits although from 12 to 14 Tuesday and Wednesday and one afternoon. I think a visiting schedule is somewhat scarce. Even so, the synagogue inside is recommended to visit and the staff we have come across has been very kind to us.
The most beautiful synagogue in the United States I was honored to paint his own unique architecture .
Dear Rabbi, I want to thank you for the most enjoyable services I have attended since I was a child and young married in Minneapolis many many years ago. I especially LOVED your sermon on What Does a Jew Look Like. I have often thought that same question, especially when people look at my children and say "they don't look Jewish!" (both of whom are white American born. but were adopted by us as infants). Your sermon was very special and I just wanted to say thank you.
A very beautiful structure, complemented by a welcoming/warm congregation
YOU PLACE IS GREAT PLACE IS THE WORLD?TOO SEE MY FAMILY?
It was very good experience. I enjoyed , the service very spiritual. Was Awesome . Recomend it
